‘.txt is not an allowed file type for free sites’ error

I haven’t edited my site for a few months but came back to it yesterday and created a new (empty) TXT file which saved no problem. However, after adding some text to it today (which consists solely of alphabetic characters, commas, apostrophes, and hyphens, so nothing crazy) and attempting to save, I got this error. I have plenty of other TXT files in the same directory that have never had this issue before. Upon googling, I found a couple of other cases of a similar error, but they were for different file types such as CSS and the issue didn’t seem related to mine. I also tried saving the file locally and uploading it but got the same message. Any ideas what could be causing this and how I could resolve it? Thanks!

Depression worse during ‘nocturnal’ phase

I find that my depression gets worse when I’m in a phase where I’m primarily awake at night. I don’t know if it’s the darkness, lack of human contact, or both. Does anyone else experience this or have any advice?

How to remember to take medication when freerunning?

Usually, I take my tablets when I wake up. This is something that has worked for me both before and after developing N24. However, I keep forgetting to take my antidepressants with food (they don’t technically need to be taken this way but they upset my stomach otherwise). I obviously can’t set an alarm since I’m not taking them at the same time everyday, so are there any ways I can remember to take them?

If freerunning, what times do you eat?

Freerunning obviously makes it so that you can’t just eat at normal times or the same times every day, so how do you judge when to eat? Do you work it out, or just go by your body? Is there a certain amount of time after a meal that you’re supposed to start feeling hungry again? For me, this often tends to be around 4 hours.

[XBOX][Early 2000s] 3D stealth game

The only thing I really remember about this game is a level near the start, likely the tutorial. You have to hide from a man(?) who will search for you. There are a few different hiding places you can choose from in the room, but the only ones I remember are under a pool table and inside a locker/cupboard of some sort. The correct choice is the latter, from which you can see him looking under the pool table for you. I remember a character with short blonde hair who I think was a girl, possibly the player character?

Etiquette when commenting on mods?

Is it considered bad etiquette to offer unsolicited constructive criticism when commenting on a mod? If so, would it be acceptable to ask first if that person is willing to receive constructive criticism or should I just avoid mentioning it altogether?

[TOMT][BOOK][Late 00s-early 10s] man using a kid’s ability to count cards to win at casinos

I don’t remember a lot of details other than a scene where a kid (I think he was around 10?) was explaining this scheme to someone else. Basically, he would accompany a man to the casino and count cards so that they could cheat and win money. He didn’t get caught because everybody assumed he was too young to be able to count cards. I have a feeling that the man was called Frank, but I’m not certain. I also think the man was exploiting the kid and his ability, but I can’t remember their exact relationship. I think this was a children’s book (or probably YA at the oldest). I remember reading it in the late 00s or early 10s, but it could’ve been published before that.

Does anyone have carers for another condition and how do you manage that with N24?

I could probably do with a carer to help me wash since I’m increasingly struggling with this due to ME/CFS. However, one of the major things putting me off even looking into this is my sleep schedule. I don’t have much experience with carers but it seems like they generally operate on a very strict schedule of always coming at the same time. Obviously, this wouldn’t work for me, since I struggle enough with being awake at the right times for appointments etc as it is. Does anybody have any experience with carers/caring and know if there’s a more flexible option please? I likely wouldn’t require somebody every day, but would struggle with consistency and probably need to arrange things last minute a lot of the time. I’m willing to go private but still not sure how flexible that would be. I’m also in the UK if it’s relevant.

What to do when you need to lie down?

I try not to lie down until 3 hours after eating. However, due to my chronic illness, I cannot be upright for very long and need a lot of rest. I try to sit propped up in bed so that my torso is relatively upright but sometimes I just need to lie down. I have wedge pillows, but I mainly just use them to prop myself up as I can no longer cope with the neck pain I get from using them when lying down. I can’t prop the head of my bed up as it is an ottoman bed. I’m on omeprazole and famotidine and take a lot of gaviscon. I try to manage my diet as best I can but I haven’t been able to find anything that really makes a significant improvement to my reflux. I had investigation into my reflux about 7 years ago but they didn’t find anything, although I think my GP may be looking into doing further investigation again. However, is there anything I can do in the meantime to cope with my reflux? Lying down (especially within 3 hours after eating) makes it worse but I just don’t have the energy to sit up a lot of the time, and there’s nothing else I can do about that, which is why I’m looking for advice here specifically about reflux.

Anyone get stomach pain after taking duloxetine?

Duloxetine has been helpful for me with my ME/CFS (I was already on antidepressants but switching to this has helped with joint/muscle pain) so I don’t want to switch/come off it. However, I get stomach pain after taking it - not straight away, but probably 20 minutes to an hour afterwards. This happens regardless of if I have something to eat in that time or not, although I haven’t tried taking it after eating (I take other tablets on an empty stomach after waking up and I struggle with remembering to take tablets outside of this routine).
Does anyone else experience this and/or have any advice?

[TOMT] Play where teenagers try to cover up their accidental murder

I’m not sure exactly when the play is from except that it was pre-2016 and likely fairly recent (from within the past few decades) given the language. Basically, a group of teenagers are being stupid (I think balancing on something high up and throwing stones?) and end up accidentally killing one of their friends. They decide to cover it up and come up with a description of the supposed killer that’s something like ‘a ginger postman’. As part of their cover up, they take the dead friend’s jumper and drop it in front of a stranger so that they’ll pick it up and get their DNA on it. However, this causes an issue when the kids who were doing that find somebody who matches the description they made up and decide to choose them to frame. When they tell the ‘leader’ of the friend group, he’s furious, because this means that they’ve actually framed somebody rather than just having the case be unable to be resolved.
I don’t remember exactly how it ends, but I know there’s a detail that it’s the only time we see the ‘leader’ of the friend group not eating something.

How to overcome a fear of a particular kind of insect?

I like insects in general but I have been scared of crane flies for as long as I can remember. While this fear has improved slightly as I’ve become more interested in insects, the bigger crane flies still freak me out, especially when they’re flying. Does anyone have any tips or even just one particular kind of insect that scares them despite everything?

YA horse book set at prestigious riding academy (read in 2010s)

I’m not 100% certain on YA, but I feel like it wasn’t aimed at children and didn’t have any ‘adult’ content (that I remember). I read it in probably the early 2010s but it could’ve been published before then.
The book follows a girl and her horse who get to go to a prestigious riding academy. While there, she befriends another girl and a boy who I think is called Cameron? There’s a point where some of the other students mock Cameron’s horse for not being purebred (I think)? and say that it looks like a cow. I also think that Cameron himself may have been like a farm worker or from a similar working class background, which is why the richer students look down on him, but I don’t think he’s phased by it.
They also have a class about ‘connecting with your horse’ with a kind of hippie teacher who teaches them a technique that involves breathing/blowing air into their horses nostrils. The protagonist finds this useless at first, but I think this class/teacher later helps her get her confidence back after a bad fall. I seem to remember something about riding blindfolded and without reins/arms?
As far as I can remember, a big focus of the book is a particularly dangerous cross-country jump. I can’t remember the exact details, but I think a ditch is involved? I could be wrong, but I think this is where the protagonist falls off and loses a lot of her trust in the horse. There might possibly have been a backstory where the protagonist’s mother died attempting this jump and that’s where the fear comes from?
The cover I remember shows a white horse jumping over a jump but the angle is so that you are looking up at the horse’s stomach from underneath. I think it was a jump with the traditional white and red striped poles, despite the cross country conflict I mentioned.
Not 100% sure on all these details as I used to read a lot of horse books so some things could be mixed up with others or just misremembered but I’m hoping there’s enough specifics that it’ll be recognisable to someone else who’s read it.

What does ‘holding pennies in her ass’ mean?

This might be a stupid question, but when Jen becomes entertainment manager, Douglas says she ‘may look like an old maid holding pennies in her ass’. The ‘old maid’ part is fairly self-explanatory, but I don’t really know what the pennies part means. Does it mean that she looks uptight or miserable? Is it suggesting she’s so poor that she’s desperate to protect a few pence? Those are the only things I can really think of. Is it a reference to something?
