Would it work to run an XLR mic into a guitar pedal through a mixer instead of a instrument level preamp?

I’ve seen that there are pedals designed to run an XLR microphone through an effects pedal chain such as the Eventide Mixing Link, OBNE Maw, or Franklin MP-10.

However, it would be quite a bit cheaper to get a small Behringer or Yamaha mixer that has effects loop.

Does this type of mixer being line out make them a substantially worse option than one of those specialized pedals, or is this a viable option? Thanks

How do I schedule a delivery?

I was expecting a delivery today that said expected 2:45-4:44. Apparently it was attempted at 11:30. I was home but did not hear the door knock and got an email saying delivery failed because signature was needed.
How do I know the same thing won’t happen tomorrow? I tried to request it sent for pickup instead but their website is so bad. It feels vibecoded, like on the pickup request page it shows a map of the whole world and no matter how far I zoom in on my area it says no locations found.

My first circuit bent instrument

This is my first experimentation with circuit bending! I have made a few noise boxes before by installing a piezo microphone and 1/4 audio jack in a metal enclosure, but this is my first time modifying existing hardware.

I bought this toy piano, painted the keys and bottom side, installed a 1/4 audio jack, and added a 1n4148 clipping diode controlled by a potentiometer.

How do I get my drumkits to show under the sounds menu?

I created a folder under Expansions using the MPC Expansion Builder, and I saved my drumpad to this folder by going to the menu and doing Save as Drum Plugin, but it doesn’t show when I go into the Sounds menu. I can only access my pack by going into the folder, selecting my SD card under Places, and manually selecting the xpm file.

To those who have used multiple MPCs, what do you think about the new One G2 compared to the Live III?

I am not currently an MPC user, but I was looking into samplers and the MPC Sample caught my eye. Then when looking into the MPC ecosystem I watched several new videos about the recently revealed One G2.

From what I can tell, the performance is comparable to the Live III but I note the following differences:

In the One’s favor, the price, and the smaller form factor.

In the Live III’s favor, the battery, built in microphone and speaker, sequencer, XLR inputs, and ability to map and crossfade multiple samples to each pad.

Now that is quite a lot of extra features in the Live III! I’m curious though to those who have used the Live III, do you think all those extra features would be worth the price difference to someone who’s only gotten into synths and grooveboxes for under a year?

Why do some listings claim this model of mixer is unpowered and others powered?

From what I can tell, this is an unpowered mixer, but some of the listings claim it is powered, both in the title and descriptions. Do some product listings often get information like this wrong or am I missing something?

My (beginner) setup

I’ve been trying some different layouts but I think this one is working for me right now.
The Keystep controls my MicroFreak and it routes through a MIDI merger so I can use it to record to the Circuit Tracks MIDI 1 track as well.
The Minilab is for playing the synth engines on the Circuit Tracks.
I designed and printed the synth stand.

Could someone with a Keystep 37 MK2 please send me their factory sequences file from MIDI control center

I accidently deleted all the factory sequences and for some reason the Factory Template in MIDI control center does not contain the factory sequences. Could someone please press recall from on their device and upload the file somewhere?

I got a table for my gear, and I 3D printed a stand

This is the largest thing I ever 3D printed, and I modeled the design myself so I’m pretty happy with how it came out! I still need to get a longer patch cable before I can make the layout more comfortable but for now it’s passable.

Could someone send me a Midi Control Center template for the Arturia Keystep 37 Mk2?

Something happened when I updated my firmware and all of the factory sequences on my Keystep 37 Mk2 got deleted. I tried recovering them through the factory template in Midi Control Center but for some reason it does not contain the factory sequences. Does someone have a template file of the factory sequences you could please send me?

Keystep 37 Mk2 Accidentally deleted all preset sequences. Help!

I don’t know what happened but after I updated my firmware, all of the preset sequences are gone. I tried reinstalling midi control center and reinstalling the firmware but they’re still gone. I don’t know what else to do

Any way to add a program control to a knob in Midi Control Center to change patches on Micro Freak from Keystep 37 Mk2?

I have the new Mk2 and I have it open in the Midi Control Center but the different parameters are pretty confusing. Is there a way to have one of the knobs on the Keystep send a program control signal to raise or lower the stored patch number on the Micro Freak?

What kind of DAC do I need to do both USB C Midi in and aux audio out?

I want to send MIDI from my Circuit Tracks to my iPad by USB C and send audio back to the Circuit Tracks but the iPad only has a USB C port. Could someone point me to a cable that can do this? I tried 2 different USB C / aux splitters but they don’t work. I was told I needed something with a DAC but can’t find the type of cable online that sounds like it’s the right one.

How do I get audio out from an iPad that doesn’t have an aux input?

I have my Circuit Tracks connecting to Koala on my iPad by MIDI over USB, but I can’t figure out how to get the audio from the iPad back into Circuit Tracks. I’ve tried two different USB C to aux splitters and neither of them work.

Could I do this on MPC Sample?

Hi, I’m just wondering if this would work.

If I link MIDI out from my Circuit Tracks into an MPC Sample, would I be able to have a full drum loop sample play stretched out to a specified number of bars and on beat with playback on the Circuit Tracks?

I currently have a Microfreak and a Circuit Tracks. Thinking about what to get next as my 2nd MIDI enabled device but not really sure what route I should go.

I could get another groovy sample machine like the Bento or Black Box for playing longer samples, breaks, loops etc. and the granular engine on the Bento is cool, but there is a lot of overlap with my Circuit Tracks.

Or there are analogue drum machines like Drumbrute. I like the sound but Circuit Tracks has 4 digital sample drums tracks, it is a little redundant.

Or I could get another symth. Maybe the best would be an analogue synth I could get bass sounds out of, maybe the Minilogue. I think that would have the least overlap with my current gear but I would miss not having the deeper sampling abilities.

How does one ever decide?
