Second time I've seen this little guy on the dock in broad daylight. There's a 100+ breeding pair colony nearby so I mostly see the young ones who haven't learned to be sneaky yet!
Taking my work boat out in the afternoon today on the Toronto islands, I turned around to find this little green heron right behind me, totally unconcerned about my dog. For an idea of how close I was, I took the video with my phone!
I'm getting sync errors because apparently my vault is full at 1GB. I only work with text files, only a small handful are bigger than 200kB, and I only have a few hundred. Local directory size is 32MB.
Why is my vault so full and how do I fix it?
Is this something to do with version history maybe? I'm writing and editing novels. The reason I switched to Obsidian is my version history was crashing Google Docs despite files being well below half of size maximums.
Mainly using it on Android via Samsung tablet and phone but also Linux Fedora PC.
Purge button freed up a few KB only.
I'm happy to pay a bit for a google alternative but if it's not working I'll cancel and go back to free workarounds.
Faint stripes make me think it's not a rat snake, and in 16 years on the Toronto islands I've only seen garter snakes and brownsnakes as far as I know (but could be wrong).
Kat's nightmare is trying to kill her.
Again.
Ravenshore, black city of fog and ghosts under electric streetlight. Kat works as an exorcist and spiritualist trying to keep afloat and to get rid of the soul haunting her revolver.
When a series of violent murders points to Kat and her suppressed nightmare, she makes a dangerous mistake that puts the whole city at risk. With no one to trust, Kat looks for help in unusual places: the local raccoon spirit and a muscular refugee wizard.
But with the rest of Ravenshore powerless, Kat will have to return to the place she's been avoiding for years to confront her nightmare at its source.
Even if it kills her.
Again.

This is a standalone that accidentally became part 1 of a trilogy.

I got myself a legit copy of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced and I have to go through Ubisoft Connect.
I downloaded the installer .exe and ran it through Steam as a non-Steam game. This installs and launches UC, through which I have downloaded Black Flag Resynced.
Where are these files?
The game itself won't launch - just hangs forever on load - so I'd like to try directly adding the .exe to Steam to be sure I'm getting Proton compatibility, but I can't find it.
At Toronto's Exhibition, 2025.
A bite or two was good but the sauce was too many things and it was too big and sweet. Hard to eat half of, let alone finish.

Kat is from a fantasy novel where her nightmare is trying to kill her (again) and she's dealing with the ghost in her revolver, wizards, and spirits. But the image doesn't look fantasy. So vote and moderate as you will?
These two little ones came out of the neighbour's shed to scope me out. I leave water for them but never food. As adorable and cuddly as they look, let wild animals be wild animals - it's not safe for you or for them to get too friendly.
Found some young owls this evening! Watched them for an hour. The third, and mom, were nearby!
I love getting this kind of wildlife in the city! Toronto is so unique for its nature at our size! (thanks TRCA and Parks!)
(Please excuse the slight distortion, took the photo with binoculars held up to my phone)
P.S. I hope "Toronto" is nonspecific enough of a location for those worried about disturbing the owls.
