test-y??

been on t since February, just .1ml injection weekly. recently bumped up to .15 and it's possible that even this moderate shift has cause me to be VERY irritable? i've never been like this before. i'm known for being unendingly patient. i don't really recognize myself and it makes me very sad and a little scare, tbh. anyone else had this happen? how'd you handle it???

help! a little freaked out... !

to keep a long story as short as possible, i've been tpn dependent for 19+ months due to sepsis + severe gastroparesis. i can consume about 500cals by mouth most days and about 700 on good days. i have several autoimmune conditions (as well as other chronic health stuff) so i'm on many medications that make me pretty severely immunocompromised. as such, i want to be off of tpn due to the high risk i have of line infections. so i've been advocating to get a true feeding tube.

about a month ago, my gi and i made a plan to have me trial an nj tube (which will be placed with xanax but not sedation)and, if that goes well, to have a j tube. so i started reading around on reddit and all i can find are people who say that (a) the nj tube gave them ptsd (b)their j tube causes them excruciating pain for months and years after (c) they lost a loved one to an infection through their j tube (d) the nj tube was hell the entire time it was in.... etc etc etc.

am i making the wrong choice?? i know that this is also something that needs to be a medical decision but i'm asking more as like an anecdotal thing. am i going to be miserable for life if i try to move to a j tube and off of tpn???

time in hr zones

new to hiit. doing the norway method (4x4min w/3min rest). during the working phase, it can take 1+ min to get my hr into the correct zone.

my question is - do i start counting the four minutes once i’m there or start the four minutes when the three minutes at resting hr ends?

likewise - it can take 1+ min to get my hr into the correct resting zone. when do i start counting that time?

standards of care in usa

as a professional academic, i go straight to the research for most things medical. i found this recent article from the american gastro association https://www.gastrojournal.org/article/S0016-5085%2825%2905857-3/fulltext it lays out the recommendations for treatment, step-by-step. as someone who is newly diagnosed, i’m wondering if this process has been the result for most folks or it docs are just out there winging it. if your doc followed the standard of care, i’d love to know who they are as that sort of thing is very important to me in my own journey.

post-sepsis high-speed aging

here goes…

long story short… i’m 44. got sepsis a month before turning 43. prior to sepsis, i looked like i was in my early 30s. people constantly commenting on how youthful i looked. during sepsis i lost thirty pounds, all of my muscle, which i really didn’t have to lose to begin with. now i’m 17 months into dealing with post-sepsis ramifications and health complications. this past near 1.5 years has aged my skin SIGNIFICANTLY.

i feel desperate to do something about the wrinkles and the couple of small darker pigment spots i have gained. i just filled a script for tretinoin .025% and have read quite a bit on here about how to apply this (every other night, pea-sized). so here’s my current “skin routine” (i use that term lightly…)

morning:
rinse with cold water
pat dry to semi-dry
moisturize w/ cerave

evening:
wash with cerave cleanser

i KNOW this isn’t enough. would folks please help me with a simple routine i could start? i understand i need sunscreen, vitamin c, the tretinoin, azaleic acid, etc but what product, what strength, in what order, etc.

howdy y’all. wondering if there are other folx here who also have narcolepsy (type 1 or 2). apparently the co-occurrence is relatively common.

i was dx with narcolepsy before gp (that dx came about 10 days) and am on my second narcolepsy med, which happens to be adderall. i’ve read that adderall can contribute to slowed motility. so i’m feeling a bit at a loss.

anybody have any experience and willing to share their thoughts/ideas?
