High school equivalency admission

I'm planning on taking my GED and SAT within this month, i couldn't complete high school because of personal reasons. Does anyone know of any students that got in with a GED? and i want to know what my chances are of getting in aswell (realistically). i asked AI and they told me if i got at least a 1225 on my SAT, a 160+ on my GED, and an application essay, my chances of getting in would be about 45-55%. Could anyone tell me the likelihood of me getting in? and if there's any other factors and i could use to up my chances.

GED Admission Process

Has anyone here gotten accepted with a GED? If so could you help me out. Im currently working to get my GED, because i couldnt finish high school due to me moving abroad and coming back.

Im afraid i wont get in unless i get a perfect score on the GED, but when i asked google, they told me that the score itself doesnt matter. If the score itself doesnt matter, what will up my chances at getting in?

I've thought about the community college route, but i want that to be more of a last resort if i cant get in. Did you take the SAT? Did you write a good essay?

Please give me some tips, this is my dream college

Thanks Reddit

GED assessment

i'm planning to take the GED, when i called the center where it will take place, they told me there is a scheduled assessment exam date in about a week (assessment to see what education level i'm at), i haven't been studying, i was wondering if how well i do on the assessment will matter, they said prep classes are after, could anyone tell me their experience doing this, and how long it took you to get your GED?

Community College Method

Im currently 17yo, supposed to be a senior, class of '27. My situation is complicated and my highschool life was basically cut off.

After my freshman year, i moved abroad to live with my father, i was homeschooled so i didn't have any documentation or proof that i actually studied over there. i got back in may, over the past few months, I've been trying to contact the school district/board seeing what my options were, they said i would have to go through this program to gain back all my credits. they said i would be forced to go to the closest low-end school to my address, as well as it would take about 2.5-3 years for me to graduate. Beggars cant be choosers, i know, but that was not for me, I'm still in the middle of conversing with the school district, but i decided to just get a GED and go to community college for a year, then go to a good college since my gpa is so low.

For the past few weeks i've been researching the cc transfer method, but im a little worried because i have no idea how college transfer works. aren't application deadlines from september to febuary? how will they see my current grades and progress? sorry if i sound dumb

My dream college/university is UTD, (university of texas, Dallas) on my school record, my weighted gpa is 2.8 and my total credits is 5.5. Bad, i know, i doubt i can even understand the lessons there, but i want to go. if i could have any tips and a more in depth explanation of this method it would be helpful

I didn't intend on this being more of a discussion or question post, but i wanted to give all details at once, if i could add multiple flairs i would.

Please help me out, Thanks reddit

Got jumped by 3 kids

I live in philly, pretty self explanatory honestly, im a high school senior, im about 5'5 on a good day, today, right after i got off work, i went to staples to return my amazon package, when i first walked in i saw these 3 kids, looked young, maybe eighth graders and a freshman, they kept walking past me when i was in line but i didnt think much of it, when i walked out they called to me, initiated conversation with me.

they were all african american and i didnt want to assume the worst so i talked to them in a friendly manor, they asked what school i went to, i told them a random school name, one of them was like "dont you go there too?" to the freshman boy, he was like "nah i used to" then and there i knew they were trying something, i tried pulling away from the convo but they kept talking to me, they asked where i live near and what bus i take, i told them vaguely where i live near (north philly, south philly, etc) they were like we could def get on the bus with him.

this is where i start to panic bc i did not mean to tell them my bus number, i start walking and they follow me, they also brought up some gangs and asked if i knew them, i walked away and they follow me, they kept asking me if they could have my backpack and hoodie, i go a random direction and end up at a local grocery store, this is when they actually start taking action, they starting threatening me saying, "i dont want to do it to you bro", "why you keep walking", and stuff like that, they grab me but im right in front of the grocery store, they started punching me and smacked the glasses off my face, maybe they saw i was on the chubbier side and thought i was an easy target, i never fought back bc 1. i was lowkey panicking, 2. i dont know if they had any weapons or not.

it honestly didnt hurt that much since they were kids and 2 of them were just as big as me, A shopper saw me, maybe mid 20s plenty of tattoos maybe 5'9, chased them away, i ran inside with blood on my hands and mouth because one of them socked me in the mouth, i walked around and was about to leave until i saw the kind samaritan again, he called me over and checked on me, he was like "u good? i dont even know you and i chased after them for ya" i told them i have no idea who they were, he offered me a ride but i honestly had no idea where i was at and couldnt think straight.

i ended up going home with all my stuff intact and just a busted lip, consider me lucky

Pc fan rgb not working

I just recently bought a new pc (used) i fixed it up and brought it home, the rgb worked when i was testing it at a electronics store, when i bought it home and set it up no rgbs were working, i checked the back panel and nothing was loose or not connected, i suspect it might be a software issue. when i first started setting it up it made me download razer synapse, thats when it stopped working (i think), i tried deleting the app and going in to bios and doing all of that, nothing worked, i tried using gigabyte software because thats the motherboard i have, no use, anyone know whats wrong?
