my crush got me into thrifting

I've had a crush on this boy for about seven months now and I couldn't help but notice his peculiar way of dressing. very 90s/80s inspired, and even though most of it is not my taste I still thought it looked super cute on him and began loving it even more.

And so began wondering where he gets his stuff from and I noticed he follows a bunch of thrift stores on IG and to be honest, I used to be the kind of person disgusted by the idea of wearing other people's clothes for various reasons...and I was simply never into thrifting 😭 it never interested me

Tldr, not only have I begun thrifting for myself (and genuinely finding fun in it) but I've also started my own thrift store! The funniest part is that he has no clue he's he influenced me this much and probably won't for a while

Anyway, shout-out to my crush for indirectly contributing to the thrifting economy 🫡

Why does playful banter/roughhousing sometimes turn into a crush/relationship?

Hi guys! So to start off I'm 24F, and I’m genuinely curious about this from a guy’s perspective because I’ve noticed a pattern in my own life and I want to know if other girls experience this with men too.

Have you ever started developing feelings for a girl because the two of you had a very playful dynamic? I mean things like teasing each other, messing with each other’s stuff, joking around constantly, playful arguing, physical play/friendly roughhousing, etc.

I’m NOT talking about a girl deliberately trying to flirt or seduce you. I mean when the dynamic just naturally develops and you two basically become playmates.

For example, I once had a guy in my class back in highschool where we barely even talked normally, but we constantly messed with each other. I’d scribble in his books, he’d scribble in mine, we’d steal each other’s stuff and argue over it, and eventually the whole dynamic became very playful/physical. A few weeks later he asked me to be his girlfriend.

I had another guy too I used to play-fight with outside of class, we'd tackle each other, chase each other around, kick each other, etc. and eventually I caught him staring at me in a VERY different way. He never actually made a move, though.

So now I’m wondering:

What actually happens in your head when you develop this kind of dynamic and it ends up with you having feelings for her? 😭

Does the playful attention make you more attracted to her over time?

Does feeling like she specifically enjoys your company make a difference?

Does physical play/roughhousing increase the tension?

Or is it more that you already find her attractive, and the playfulness simply gives you more opportunities to notice that attraction?

And if you HAVE developed a crush this way, did you realize it gradually or was there ever a specific “oh shit, I like her” moment?

Like pls explain to me why this works 😭

24F4F looking to move to Cape Town, looking for my girl gang 🥂

Hey everyone! ♡

I'm planning to move to Cape Town and I'd love to start making some genuine friendships before I get there, because I would rather not arrive in a new city and spend the first few months talking to my cup of tea in a restaurant 😭

I'm specifically hoping to meet other women around 23–28ish who are also looking to build a proper friendship/social circle rather than just having someone to occasionally grab coffee with.

My ideal friendship vibe is basically:

Pilates / yoga / wellness

Shopping and browsing cute places

Sunset dinners & pretty views

A glass of wine (non alc bc i dont drink however i dknt mind drinkers) and good conversation

🐈 Cat people are automatically invited

Going for walks

Trying new restaurants

Beauty, fashion, skincare, etc.

Art, exhibitions, markets, little events

Spontaneous “wait, let's just go do something” plans

Getting dressed up and going somewhere cute

Chilled nights in when we're not feeling social

I'm definitely more “let's go somewhere pretty and have dinner” than “let's climb a mountain at 5am” 😂. I enjoy being active and getting outdoors, but I'm not particularly hardcore outdoorsy.

I'm also not really looking for a friendship that's centred around clubbing/partying every weekend bc I am an introvert too and I hate being in loud places for extended periods of time. I want that girlfriend friendship where we can randomly text each other, make plans, go shopping, take walks, try a new restaurant, have deep conversations, or spontaneously decide to go watch the sunset and just form a great bond.

If you're around my age and this sounds like your vibe, please comment or DM me! I'd love to get to know some people before I move and hopefully build a little community of my own in Cape Town. 🥹🩷

Bonus points if you're also a cat person. Obviously. 🐈‍⬛

AITAH for being upset that my therapist ghosted me for four months?

I (24F) have been seeing my therapist for a while (1 year in March) and until recently I thought we had a good therapeutic relationship.

My last session with her was in April. That session was actually with me and a friend, so it wasn't a normal one-on-one session.

After that, she went on holiday for about a month for her birthday. I completely understood and didn't expect her to contact me while she was away. After she came back, I saw from her WhatsApp status that she had become sick, so again, I understood. I figured that once she recovered, we'd eventually resume our sessions.

Except... she never contacted me again.

It's now been four months since my last session, and I've received absolutely nothing from her. No "hey, how are you doing?", no explanation, no message asking whether I wanted to resume sessions. Just complete radio silence.

There's another factor that makes this more confusing to me. Around February, she told me that I no longer needed to pay for my sessions because she wanted to give them to me as a gift. I didn't ask her to do this, and I genuinely appreciated it. So I don't think the issue is that I stopped paying or that there was some unpaid bill.

At one point, she also told me that she doesn't decide how a session should go because the client decides, which I understood to mean that I should have some control over what we work on during therapy. But I'm wondering whether she's applying that philosophy to the entire therapeutic relationship and basically thinking, "She's an adult; if she wants another session, she'll contact me."

And this is where I'm conflicted.

I could have contacted her. I'm an adult, and I know I can reach out if I want another appointment. I also didn't explicitly tell her, "I don't want therapy anymore." So maybe I should have just messaged her instead of expecting her to initiate.

But at the same time, I feel like it's really fucking unprofessional to have an established client disappear for four months without saying anything, especially when there was NO conversation about me ending therapy or taking a break.

I don't expect my therapist to chase me down or be responsible for my life. I just feel that if therapy is an ongoing relationship, there should at least be some communication when sessions suddenly stop. Even something as simple as, "I'm back and feeling better. Let me know if you'd like to resume our sessions."

Instead, I've been left wondering whether I'm supposed to interpret the silence as her deciding that our therapeutic relationship is over.

So, AITA for feeling that she handled this unprofessionally, or is it reasonable for her to assume that because I'm an adult, I'll contact her when I want to resume therapy? Because this is also my first time in therapy AND something like this has never happened before. Please help :(

I'm considering sending this to an A&R...

Hi everyone!

I'm planning to send this recording to a music manager and before I do, I'd really appreciate some honest, constructive feedback.

I'm not looking for compliments or validation, I genuinely want to know what stands out to you and what you think I should keep working on.

Some specific questions:

Is my pitch generally consistent?

Does my tone sound pleasant or are there moments where it becomes strained?

Is there enough emotion and storytelling in my singing?

Are there any obvious technical issues (breath support, tension, diction, etc.) that jump out?

If you were hearing this for the first time, what would be the first thing you'd tell me to improve? Thanks!

Need song suggestions - Mezzo soprano

Hey all! I'm planning to submit covers to an A&R in the next few days and I'm stuck on song choice 😭

What I'm looking for:

- Song suggestions in my range/genre that would showcase a mezzo voice well for an A&R submission (ideally something with dynamic range/emotional delivery rather than just high belting)

- Given the short timeline, I'd rather pick something I can perform really well than something flashy I can't pull off in time

I'm only gonna be sending around 4 videos since I don't ever really record myself when singing. For my song choices I have

Let It Snow - Boyz 2 Men

Listen - Beyonce

Almost Is Never Enough - Ariana Grande

number one girl - Rosè

Any suggestions appreciated, especially from fellow mezzos who've dealt with this same dilemma 😭

Offering English, Seeking Chinese

Hey!! 23F looking for a language exchange partner, Mandarin Chinese for English!!

I'm a native English speaker currently at HSK 1 level but honestly progressing really fast 😭 I have about 4 years of passive immersion through Chinese music and dramas so my listening and pronunciation are already pretty solid. I can form basic sentences, I'm working on character recognition and writing, and my grammar feels pretty natural already. Looking to have real conversations and grow together!!

In return I can help you with English, whether that's casual conversation, grammar, writing, pronunciation, whatever you need!!

I'm looking for someone who is actually consistent and willing to show up 😭 I've had exchanges fall through before so ideally looking for someone genuinely motivated!!

Drop a comment or DM me if you're interested!! 谢谢

Hi everyone! Im 23F, and I've recently come back to Wattpad after years of writers block (fanfics, etc the works)

For those of you who remember, there used to be playlists linked to chapters/books, can I ask whether that's still tradition? I wanted to do it but I don't wanna seem old fashioned 😭💀 I absolutely loved doing but I can't seem to find any writers do it now

Thanks!
