Ember & Sands demo is out! 🌺🍹

Ember & Sands is a romance visual novel (and Bloom spin-off) that takes place in Valanche, a fantasy tropical island based off of Bali.

The game follows dual protagonists Kestrel Se'val and Kaspian Lestari as they run their co-owned bed and breakfast.

When rumours spread that Valanche's protective barrier is weakening, and Kaspian begins showing signs of a mysterious illness he won't talk about, Kestrel and Kaspian must confront the truths they have been avoiding—about the island, its Fire Saint and the elusive travelling fairy doctor... and about each other.

In the demo, you can romance Doctor Aimeric as the practical and observant Kestrel or Fire Saint Seraphina as the charismatic and athletic Kaspian.

(Kes x Kas route coming soon!)

Looking for a co-writer for the third route of my visual novel THE COMMUNITY NOTES ARE WRONG

The Community Notes Are Wrong is an otome and yuri visual novel about biphobia and going viral on social media.

I am looking for a co-writer that can help me flesh out the existing rough story outline for the third love interest Jae (GxB) and write the route! I have certain themes I want to hit but there's lots of room for your ideas.

This is a long-term project which up until now has been solo-developed. Currently, there is a released demo and one GxB route that is about 80% written. I aim to release the first 2 routes in September 2026 and the final route in December 2026.

Synopsis
Ayla Solace rose to fame through raw, emotional songs about the woman she loved. Her fans see her as the perfect "lesbian icon." Her agency sees her as a brand that should stay easy to sell.
Though the lesbian label never accurately described her, Ayla leaned into it to avoid disappointing her community… and to appease her ex-girlfriend, who didn't like the word bisexual.
Ayla's world shatters when a quiet date with a male barista is caught on camera and goes viral. Her bisexual identity suddenly public, Ayla must now navigate the intense biphobia and scrutiny of a social media firestorm.

You will be writing the full route for one male love interest. A loose outline and key narrative beats will be provided, but you will be expected to expand these into a complete route with fully developed arcs, integrated with the social media game mechanic. The target length of the route is approximately 25,000 words. You must be comfortable writing 17+ romantic scenes and LGBT themes.

Please note the project makes a very small amount from Patreon, donations and bundle sales, which you will be getting a portion of if you join. Because the amount is little and unstable it is best to view this job as volunteer work rather than stable income.

I hate the people who go "I'd be vegan if it weren't for this one thing"

I hate the people who go "I'd be vegan if it weren't for this one thing that's a cultural tradition/comfort food/ED safe food/cheap with no vegan alternative" cuz my answer would always be "then go vegan except for that one thing??"

But of course, it's never that one thing... 🤔

Gender Bender Jam 2026

The [Gender Bender Jam](https://itch.io/jam/gender-bender-jam-2026) is a casual annual jam to create gender bender, TG, TF, TSM and TSF games and media.

While we expect most of the submissions to be visual novels or narrative-driven games, any form of media is allowed provided it fits the genre.

So go make that romance visual novel, platformer with a genderbent main character, manga with a transgender protagonist or roguelike where swapping genders grants different abilities… all genres are welcome.

What bi experiences do you wish fiction handled better? Any tropes you hate?

For a while, my X For You feed kept showing posts hating on bisexual celebrities (99% of them being women) for getting into relationships with men while still identifying as bisexual.

The discourse frustrated me so much that it ended up inspiring a visual novel.

I'm working on an otome and yuri visual novel called The Community Notes Are Wrong, which is about a bisexual woman dealing with biphobia, bi erasure, messy online discourse and includes romantic routes with both a male and female love interest.

I'm curious: what kinds of bi representation feel real to you, and what tropes instantly make you go "please, not this again"?

I’ve also had a couple of people say certain parts of the story came across in ways I didn’t intend, including concerns around lesbophobia. Because the comment quickly became personal and the person made assumptions about my bisexuality, I thought it would be helpful to ask somewhere more neutral.

THE COMMUNITY NOTES ARE WRONG has been updated with Chapter 1 of Levi's route and Cheri's route!

The update includes...

  • 2-3 hrs of route progression
  • Choices that could lead to early exit bad endings
  • 4 new CGs and menu art
  • Social media gameplay (bad ends are in, so be careful!)

It is one of the goals of my otome and yuri visual novel, The Community Notes Are Wrong, to show how biphobia impacts the female protagonist in a way that's not just misogyny and homophobia.
