Practice Makes Perfect

Learning how to sharpen properly has been a lot of fun. I did this today on my Work Sharp Professional Precision Adjust with Venev Centaur stones F100/240, 400/800 & 1200/1500 and finished on strops. 18 DPS. I also snagged a TS Prof K03 for a killer deal so now I have to learn a whole new system. This might be my most appeasing edge this far for my OCD. Perfect tip, even bevels, centered choil and cuts extremely well.

More Pull Day Shenanigans

44M. 194lbs. 5'11". I tried to do these with full ROM and controlled movement while trying to pull my elbows down and back (like I'm trying to elbow someone attempting to cut me line) but I'd love some feedback on any improvements I could make.

Buyer's Remorse?

I feel like I might regret purchasing a couple of these. I do love a nice shredded carbon/forged carbon though. I'd be curious to hear some people's experience with buying handles on Ali Express.

Let's talk milling

I wanna see everyone's favorite milling patterns and who does em! This one has been mesmerizing to look at closely

SOTR (New Top 5)

Recently acquired an SPK Lamia and while it needed quite a bit of detent work (detent was much weaker than others I've had in the past) and some pretty major detent path polishing, it's absolutely glorious now and deserves a spot in the top 5. It felt like someone pulled it out of a sand box when it got delivered, very similar to the Protean. I digress. End result - Sonora moves to #6.

Top to Bottom:

Uldanov R2 Magnacut
SPK Lamia Gen 4 XPJX with Elmax milling and 3/4 flat Boise grind
Wehr Snoop CPM-154
Oz Roosevelt Standard Magnacut
Brown Knives Cortex Mini Magnacut

These are in no particular order, by the way.

New Knife Stand

Plan on keeping the nicer stuff on this and the remaining knives on the stainless magnetic strip mounted on the wall.

NKD (A good one!)

Seems like videos are failing to upload to the sub at the moment. This isn't my first Lamia. The first one I had had a micro milled blade which I didn't like. It had scratchy, stiff action and I didn't like that either. It had a wonderful detent that I loved. I've been chasing a bright build for a minute now and finally found one with XPJX milling on the (nice and shiny) scales along with a 3/4 flat grind stonewash blade. The action was still stiff and scratchy. The detent was medium at best. I got it taken apart right away and went to work on polishing a detent track, adjusting the detent and the lock bar pressure and it's running BEAUTIFULLY now. Great ergonomics. Great acoustics. Fantastic detent. It feels very Rosie-esque almost like a contoured cousin. That's a big compliment. I'll post an action video in the comments along with the detent path, post polish.

NKD (A good one!)

SPK Lamia XPJX milling with 3/4 flat grind stonewashed blade arrived today. I've been after a bright built Lamia for a while. I had an older one and didn't love the finish. The detent was great but the action was scratchy and stiff. Well, this one arrived with the same scratchy, stiff action but a medium soft detent. A little detent path polishing, some lock bar adjustments (I'll post pics in the comments) and some minor detent modifications and this thing is running glassy smooth on the close with a CRISPY ASS detent. It feels very Rosie-esque and I'm all for a contoured, shiny Rosie.

SPK Lamia XPJX milling with stonewashed blade. It needed some tuning but I'm very happy with it now. I've been after one of these bright builds for a minute.

New Rosie Scales Day

Oz Roosevelt New Scale Finish. Zirblasted, Burnished & then stonewashed. The old dark wash had to go. I like it a lot with the Johnny T Zircuti accessories.

Hey everyone! I have a budget of about $800-900. I'm looking for a chef's knife with a high carbon steel and a two tone red amboyna handle. I am open to blade shapes. I found a 8" Apple Valley Forge that I really like that uses 52100. I held one at a knife show and really like the ergonomics. Trevor is a nice guy, too. I really just want something that provides value and performance at that price point. I'll be using it to do prep, cutting various meats and chopping some fruits and veggies. The knife pictured is what I liked but I don't wanna splurge for the feathered Damascus.

Wehr Allie SB Inset Liner Lock. DOB 7/29/25. Magnacut. Zirblasted smooth scales. Zirblasted over belt satin blade. Blackened hardware. (belt clip, pivot, body screws and backspacer) Perfect centering. Great lock up. Medium to medium strong detent. Floating backspacer provides a nice ring when reverse flicking. Never sharpened. I've never carried it out of the house. It has been disassembled to clean. There are not very many of these in Magnacut at all. Typically Matt uses CPM-154. Table was $950. There are some very minor snails on the exterior of the clip on very specific light. Multiple owners. The blackened hardware does fade over time with rubbing. My Snoop is much newer and looks the same. Front flipper works perfectly. Blade hole works great for reverse flicking with both fingers and thumb flick is excellent. Sharty McHoarder accidentally kept the COA when he shipped me the knife so he will be shipping it directly to the buyer. U/shartymcgeen

SV: $875

Vosteed x Gavko Leopard. Multiple owners. Perfect centering. Skiffs installed. Comes with thick washers as well and OEM bearings. Obviously disassembled. Amazing detent. Like, top notch detent. Fantastic action overall. This is one example where skiffs really made a difference. It has been sharpened on a fixed angle system to a semi mirror edge at 18DPS. I see absolutely zero signs of use other than the fresh edge.

SV $175

Not really interested in trades but if you have a zirblasted Allie SB with knurled milling that matches my Snoop, I'm down! Not much else I'm looking for at the moment. Maybe some kitchen knives with red amboyna scales.

Prices are shipped to all 50 states. Insured. Ground Advantage. I can do UPS but it will not go out same day and maybe not even next day.
