Comparing the elite pikemen tier 4 in Rome 2

They are pretty similar but some are more situational then other.

Spartan Pikemen seems fit in this but their stats are worse than these 3, the only thing it has better than those 3 is 70 health compare to 60 health, and it is from tier 3 barrack.

I think it is better to compare Spartan Pikemen to Thorax Pikemen, Bronze Shield Pikemen and African Pikemen

Even though Bronze Shield Pikemen is tier 4, it is way worse than the trio so I don't include them in here

Comparing the elite spearmen tier IV of all factions in Rome 2

Everyone seem to love the last post so I continue with the spearmen

There are like 17 elite spearmen so I have to separate them

Also there are 3 units with javelin so I put them in a different picture

Triarii despite is not a tier 4 infantry but its stats are busted, similar to all the elite, that is why I add them in

Comparing the elite heavy cavalry from King's Stables of all factions in Medieval 2

I already did one in RomeTotalWar sub so I decide to do it in here as well.

If you guys remember the best unit series that I did a while ago, I think that I should do a comparison so everyone can check the stat easier.

I plan to use honga.net but it doesn't go smoothly as Rome 2 so I just screenshot, turn all the stats into a table and all done.

I want to add unit icon but it doesn't feel good so I keep the stats only.

If everyone like it, I will do the rest

Comparing the elite heavy infantry tier IV of all factions in Rome 2

I use honga.net, they have the tools to compare all units, then I screenshot, a bit of editing and all done.

Red means the worst stat while green means the best stat

If everyone like it, I will do the rest of all types of units

I don't add Thracian Nobles because they might be worse than the rest and I kind of forget about them.

Any mod for vanilla improvement (not fully overhaul) for Rome II ?

I was bored for DEI and want to change a bit

May I ask for some suggestion for mods that improve vanilla Rome II, but not fully overhaul

(it is like Vanilla Beyond Mod for Medieval II)

My first campaign in Tsardom 3.0 and some feedbacks

I find out about Tsardom 3.0 by a random recommended Youtube video, then I decide to try it for like 50 turns as Rome

The map and UI is very good, the variety of units is a plus as well

Title mechanic is a fun one and garrison default in city is good

But cavalry is slow to move when being commanded, especially in siege and cavalry vs cavalry battle

AI got a lot of buffs so they field a lot of armies with only 2,3 settlements, the Ottomans has only 3 settlements and they have 4 full stacks roaming around and they recruit like 6,7 units in one turn

It is only my first campaign in this mod but overall this mod is very good, it is a 8.5/10 for me

If you like the timeline 14-16th century in the Balkans, Italy and Central Europe, this mod is for you

Is Tsardom 3.0 good ?

I watched a few videos on Youtube about Tsardom 3.0 and it seems pretty good

Has anyone played it ? Is it worth downloading ?

Also Fall of Constantinople 2.0, I want everyone's opinions about it as well

Macedon guide: the first 3 turns

Macedon is a pretty hard faction if you don't know what to do, I have a small guide for you guys

Turn 1: get 3 bodyguards, recruit 2 pikemen, get all the mercs you can

Turn 2: Attack Larissa, they will like 90% sallying out to fight you on open field

You have cavalry superiority and pikemen so it will be a easy win

Here is my replay for the battle of Larissa

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XUs_XevBrueHDgKLNYUcttIIY5tzR4Nw/view?usp=drive_link

After taking Larissa, keep recruiting Pikemen

There are two situations right now: for the next few turns either Athens and Sparta will declare on you, or they won't

If they won't, march on Apollonia and take it quickly so you can focus on southern Greece

I will post another post on how to fight Athens and Sparta early on and control all of Greece by turn 7

What are you guys opinions about ME2X ?

I saw Lionheart’s video on my recommendation, check the video and it seems pretty good

I ask the developer on Discord and they say that popular mod like SS 6.4 or Vanilla Beyond can be run on this overhaul, which is awesome

If anyone have tried that mod, can you guys give me your opinion

Battle of Athens: Macedon vs Athens, legendary difficulty for everyone to try (I forgot to take a screenshot before the battle)

Here is the link:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1enVjlPdmuCWEw_h3VVU-RJGQ5k8QxBMm/view?usp=drive_link

My replay of that battle:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1caQsfTylCUwp6nwDgV_6kfZaV6kX3wUD/view?usp=drive_link

If you win this battle, Athens will be yours

Athens has everything better than you, more missile troops, more cavalry, except that they don't have pikes but they have more numbers so being outflank is possible

You have no missile troops so form a pike box is not good and you are the attacker not the defender so you have to try something to make them attack you

Watched LCK since 2013 (OGN) and this is my favourite opening video of all time

OGN summer 2014 opening

Good music, and the video looks cool, some of the legends are coaches or still playing now (the one with dark magic in his hand)

My strategy (guide) for first 3 turns as Rome: turn 2 and 3

Turn 1: https://www.reddit.com/r/DivideEtImpera/comments/1u6auoz/comment/orrg5li/?context=1&screen_view_count=4

You can recruit extra mercs for those incoming battles, but mercs are randomly spam so I will only use starting armies in turn 1 to fight

Now you have two battles :

The siege of Arretium

https://preview.redd.it/noa96kdugh7h1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dacdcb8c70be00690a51ebe18a022e5563801276

There are two options: they sally out or they stay inside the city, with any of them you can win the battle

Here is my two replays of both situations:

Sally out: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WFwIqX0ORa9xlimF_r4UMeJFB3TrR_FO/view?usp=drive_link

https://preview.redd.it/1a2fapgkhh7h1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1ec870271b69554f99811b22addd68bf6ff622e0

Or a siege: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gBYLM6vvmWzo_q-6GmHh8pWhqpZVj17I/view?usp=drive_link

https://preview.redd.it/cohq36vohh7h1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=becba9aa88cba8566b04fb19b4e57ee22cf315d3

And the fight with Pyrrhus:

https://preview.redd.it/mdz3ato4ih7h1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=07ed0a373829b0c451b2c1209086dcbd2505fbcb

Replay: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pC350TsvF_Kih8os8Dn81_0IxNUaLosm/view?usp=drive_link

https://preview.redd.it/6vvv4uuaih7h1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e64d0cb094cab55c887e2d5f908c176fe254630a

A decisive victory, very unlucky that the elephant escapes so I have to chase it down

After the battle, recruit extra 3 Principles to prepare for Taras

Turn 3:

It will be RNG, sometimes Epirus recruit a general in Taras, they will always stay outside the city, but in range of your two legions, attack them and take Taras, you have Italy now

Or they will bring the army in Apollonia to Taras, you need to bring the army in Arretium to Taras, do some ambush to draw it out

For my test, in turn 4 luckily I draw that army into a battle in my land

https://preview.redd.it/n1ny1jcejh7h1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=028a2634748f28911b084bb4d0446a3433dceaf1

Odd is not in my favor, but I have cavalry superiority so it will be a easy victory, after this Taras is mine

If you guys want to fight this battle and continue the campaign in turn 4, here is the link to the save file:

My strategy (guide) for first 3 turns as Rome: turn 1

So you start as Rome, you are at war with Etruscans and Epirus, sometimes it might be overwhelmed for newer player in DEI, but my strategy will help you a lot

I play on Legendary Difficulty so if I can do it, everyone can do it on lower difficulty as well

Step 1: In Rome, recruit this guy, hire the merc and get 4 Principles

Because sometimes the weather is bad so you can't reach Arretium next turn, and this guy has extra campaign movement range which helps, also you hire the merc so Etruscans don't have it

One more better route: Get a extra general in Rome, so you can recruit 5 Principles in Legio III

https://preview.redd.it/0pufft9tne7h1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cf9d8dabdfb4abc7caede24477e2ade6c5d20fa8

Step 2: Bring Legio I and Legio II in the exact place, with Legio II you hire all the mercs, recruit 3 Principles or 2 Principles + 1 Equites ( it is up to you if you are comfortable with more infantry or not)

You hire the mercs so Prryhus doesn't get them

https://preview.redd.it/u2nw024eoe7h1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa199cad96aebc767f27cf2f72676f7603f8f155

The reason you put your legions like this because in the end turn, Prryhus always attack Legio I but he can't chase your army enough to wipe you out

Also I put Legio II like that so Prryhus can't disrupt my recruitment and I still can reinforce the battle next turn

https://preview.redd.it/myoiz8sioe7h1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc2a1dfbab7e4cf3ace44adf2907bcb10244e984

And he will be stuck like this at the start of turn 2, which gives you a chance to wipe him out

https://preview.redd.it/llx985y2pe7h1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b29dcbbd43c7fdbc16126c7dfd0b6b6ad875a7f3

Or even better, sometimes he moves like this

https://preview.redd.it/nw91yb09re7h1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fcaff750324b5c08190164d69204552f3cbd1502

Is 40 units option in Darthmod good ?

I start playing Darthmod again after a few years and I haven’t tried 40 units option before

In 20 units, a line infantry has 350 units (ultra unit scale), so a full stack will have like 6k troops, , which is enough for me

Is 40 units option made it even better ? My computer can run it smoothly enough

Which types of wealth do you guys focus on for your province (commerce, agriculture, industry or culture) ?

Maybe because I don’t play a lot of barbarian factions so I always focus on agriculture and culture wealth, what about you guys ?

The pictures below are one of my example provinces

Need some feedbacks about my "historical" Liu Bei legendary/legendary turn 136 (record mode)

I play tons of other total war games but only try 3K for like 60 hours, I tried a "historical" Liu Bei campaign, migrate to Jingzhou region, conquer it then march on Yi and Hanzhong provinces, declare myself emperor

Sun Quan and Cao Cao became alliance so I stuck defending Jing regions for like 30 turns before going to Yi provinces, only when I declare myself emperor that their alliance broke down

My plan is following historical route, conquer Nanman lands, then swing north to Chang'an/ Louyang then move to Cao Cao

Is my tech tree good as Liu Bei ? I focus on red for campaign movement range, replenishment rate and cataphract for Zhang Fei, and a bit on blue and yellow for reduce salary

I spent prestige points on army first, then admin then assignment last, is it a good move ?

I abuse the ambush stance a lot against Sun - Cao, it works perfectly but is this a good tactic ?

Why I find the Turks the most interesting faction in the game (even though I hate them because I am Romanboo/Byzanboo)

You can do the transaction from a nomad state with horse archers to an empire with discipline infantry and heavy cavalry, and playing both style has their own fun.

The nomad one is for fighting European, while the Ottomans one is for the muslim in the east
