What are we reading?

I’ve discovered recently that it’s hard for me to really get into other authors. I want to get better at that but in my opinion an authors prose is either way too purple or way too comical. And the only author I’ve read that hits that “just right” for me is Sanderson.

So I picked up skyward and I absolutely love it. I hope with the tv show coming out they make a video game based on it. Something that is a A cross between ace combat and Microsoft flight simulator, with a little bit if Star Wars thrown in.

Anyways, I love Love the series and hopefully I can catch up before the new one comes out in September

Listening to the wind rises episode, and it’s kinda wild that Emily Blunt played the wife in both these movies.

Both ww2 films based on real people. Both invented something that killed a ton of people. Both films are made with auteurs who might be using their respective films to make a commentary on how maybe they are to blame with their respective mediums being destroyed

I can only read Brandon Sanderson and it makes me sad.

I have this thing when I’m like Goldie Locks for books. I think a book either uses too many big words and kinda insists upon itself. Or I think books try to be way too dumbed down and silly that it makes me roll my eyes.

Brandon Sanderson is the one author who is just right. Not too wordy but also not too silly either (most of the time)

I finished the cosmere months ago and I was trying to read something new from a different author.

Classics, horror, lit RPGs and other fantasy authors and all of them I’ve had this problem with.

But skyward was only two bucks on Amazon and I read the first page and gosh darn it I’m in .

I know this is a me problem. You guys will mock me because I am deserving of it.

But yes, I wanted to share my frustration with myself with you guys.

I guess I’m reading all of skyward right now

Longest amount of time before they get to the movie?

I’m listening to the as good as it gets episode right now. It’s been 33 minutes and they still haven’t started talking about the movie.

I was wondering what are some others similar episodes?

For the record I’m not hating, I find it kinda charming

Hello I’m A 32 year old man and I cried during Toy Story 5 at least 3 different times.

I was surrounded by children. I was doing my best to keep it together but boy oh boy was my eyes red. There is one scene in a car, that nearly destroyed me

If persona 3 is Evangelion/boogiepop, Persona 4 is diamond is unbreakable/twin peaks, persona 5 is lupin the third/inception, what will persona 6 be?

I would love it being a spin on chainsaw man/true detective. But what do you think?

Punisher in review?

With punisher one last kill and his inclusion in brand new day, it seems like the time to finally watch the punisher films.

Have they discussed anything like this at all? If not how likely is it? After that they will just have to do blade, Ang lees hulk, and ghost rider for them to have covered every marvel film.
