Set for the winter.

Successful potato harvest this year. Amazingly, none went to the critters. Last year we lost about 1/3 of the crop to voles. Varieties are: French Fingerling, German Butterball, Peruvian Purple, Burbank Russet, Ozette, Pontiac Red and a variety we call Ruby (unknown variety).

Martinis Roma

I don’t think this variety is talked about out enough. Beautiful fruits, disease resistant, blossom end rot resistant, highly productive, tasty. We have grown this variety every year since we discovered it.

Tree never came out of dormancy.

Got this apple tree as a bare root in spring and put it in a bed. It never came out of dormancy but the scratch test is still green, even up high and the wood still looks healthy. Im assuming it’s dead, but I’m too stubborn to stop watering.

Tassels and Flowers

Looks like the plant mutated and threw tassels where the pollen sacs should be. This is a red sweet corn.

Jimmy Nardello, Red Ember, Pepperoncini

Red Embers are the earliest pepper I have seen. Ripe a few weeks earlier than any of my others.

Pineapple sacrifice

Grew this a couple of years ago from a random top we got from the store. It was absolutely delicious. This time around I’m growing Sugar Loaf.

Denver to PDX back to the gate twice!

First time for maintenance light, then apparently the office lost the paperwork for takeoff. De-boarded the plane twice now.

Interesting mutation of a Foxglove.

All of the top flowers are oversized compared to the rest of the plant which looks normal. I believe it is genetic because all of the tops have this form. Has anyone ever seen this before? I am planning on keeping the seed because I think it may have value being an interesting mutation.

Still waiting

Did a rejuvenation cut on this Peter’s honey that was in a pot for years and is now in the ground. All of my other figs have woken up weeks ago. Still passes the scratch test. I guess it’s just getting a late start as all of the hormones have to change.

Soon ther’ll be nothing natural, everything will be artificial.

In the future I say. Heaviest lyrics of all time. Change my mind.

Couple of 3 year JLFs

First pic is of cannabis/horsetail, second is comfrey/mint. Still a lot of smell coming off of the first one. I used it last year and noticed possible disease starting after using 1 cup per gallon once a week for a couple of weeks so I stopped. Gonna try again this year. I also have 50 gallons of traditional JLF brewing the same amount of time. So far I’m not sold on the results, mainly because of spots on leaves. I only use it to water into the ground.
