K drama - Hometown cha cha cha 🦷👠🛥️🌊☀️
MML - Kim Seon Ho
FML - Shin Min Ah
The hype was definitely real! At first, I did not like the description of the show because I thought it revolved a lot around the hometown (it didn’t make any sense bc the title literally says hometown) But however, after I started the first episode, it got me hooked. Their first meeting, and their opposite personalities made them feel like they were two pieces of jigsaw puzzle waiting to be placed together because they fit so perfectly. I loved how Yoon Hye Jin made those mistakes, it made her seem so real and human bc sometimes unconsciously we tend to judge people and their lifestyle.
And can I ever say enough about the couple? They were literally PERFECT. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a beautiful female lead, and together they were the cutest DIMPLE COUPLE ever. Their chemistry and love story were just chef’s kiss. Honestly, watching them made me wish to have even a small part of the kind of love they shared, so understanding and the perfect amount of slow burn.
The beautiful town Gongjin and its people made me feel like they were home, a big family. They felt so real, unlike most other kdramas (no hate, actually I am a simp for those CEO dramas too). Everything about this drama felt different, like a breath of fresh air. I also loved how the drama showed the hidden dangers lurking in women’s lives and beautifully portrayed the different struggles we have to face every single day.
I loved how Chief Hong helped everyone, and how everyone was there during his lows in life. The drama honestly motivated me to appreciate life more and be kinder to the people around me.
However, the one thing I DID NOT LIKE was >!the second last episode where Halmoni Gam Ri dies. Even if they wanted her character to die, it still felt a little unnecessary to me. What disappointed me even more was that June did not attend her funeral. When Halmoni told him that they might not meet again, he replied that they would definitely meet again someday in the future. That scene felt so meaningful, so it hurt when he never came back for her funeral. I kept hoping until the very last episode that he would return at least once for her memory.!<
Still, I loved how, in the end, everyone’s lives slowly fell into place and each character got their own happily ever after alongside the main couple. Their love story was so unique and it felt so good knowing that both were in love with each other but didn’t know how to name them. I ESPECIALLY LOVED HOW SHE WENT FROM SEOUL AND DIRECTLY CONFESSED TO HIM AND HE RECIPROCATED WITHOUT ANY UNNECESSARY DRAMAS
The drama feels like a warm hug at the end of a tiresome day. So damn comforting to watch.🥹🫶🏻
10/10 def recommend. And to the people who are planning to watch it for the first time, I am jealous of you!
