How long does a meta deck last ?

If I want to invest into a meta deck (350-450€) realistically for how long can I use it before it becomes obsolete/powercrept ?

For example rolad just came out last month, when do you think It'll be powercrept ?

Just trying to assess when is the optimal moment to put some money down and whether it can be a bit durable or not, my objective being the nationals in may 2027

Because it seems konami prints new overpowered staples quite often

Much appreciated!

How do you keep track of chain links in paper play ?

Let's suppose it goes up to cl8 or something, how do you keep track of the order things were activated ?

I'm asking because opponent could cheat if the chain is long, for example he activates a card to target one of mine in the chain to negate (with flame or imperm in the case of a monster), I chain with a card that allows me to dodge his targeting, after the chain gets bigger what's impeding him from changing the card he targeted once he realises his negate will resolve without effect ?

Do you just take notes during the construction of the chain ?

Konami's sleeves not working with Yu-Gi-Oh cards ?

Something i don't get, i have the dark magician girl sleeves and any Yu-Gi-Oh card i put in is just swimming inside like the sleeve is too big for a Yu-Gi-Oh card

I also tried with the hero sleeves and the fit is just much better, is there a reason for such variance with konami Japanese sized sleeves ?

Much appreciated!

Upcoming first local : how do you deal with the sheer amount of playable decks ?

I started Yu-Gi-Oh from scratch in may on master duel, after a month and a half of grinding gems with a structure deck, i got my first competitive deck : sky striker, I reached diamond 2 last season and I'm planning on attending my first local this month, I know the format and banlist is completely different

One thing I struggle with is going against decks I have never seen, you should obviously know how to deal with the meta decks like kewl tune, elfnote, RT, branded, dracotail and so on but then there's a slew of rogue decks that can take advantage of the fact you don't know how they work.

It's easy to deal with them on master duel because everything is automated and I have time to read my opponents cards, but how do you deal with this in paper play ? Do you actually read every single card they play ?

Also what should I know/prepare before attending my first local ?

There's a YCS in my city in September that i would really like to attend although it's probably too soon given my current level

Much appreciated!

Are there boulders for japanese sized cards ?

Im planning to transport my deck in my bagpack so i'm thinking a boulder might be more suitable than a deckbox, i only find standard sized boulders, do japanese size boulder exist ? Won't the cards rattle inside the box if i buy a standard size boulder ?

Also my deck is comprised of 70 cards counting the ED and side deck, would the cards rattle inside a 100+ box ? I'm using dragonshield perfect fit as inner and dragonshield matte as outer sleeves

Much appreciated

Vertical or horizontal deck boxes ?

Which one do you go for ?

I have been storing my cards in a vertical deckbox and noticed they're bending now, they were straight and tight in the deckbox, I wonder if a horizontal deckbox wouldn't be better in this regard ?

Much appreciated!

Precision on double sleeving

I'm double sleeving this way : I put the card in a Japanese size sleeve (black dragon shield) and then in a standard size sleeve (black dragon shield) is this legal or not ?

Also do the sleeves have to be in the same direction (mouth of the sleeves facing top) or opposite direction? I have been reading conflicting info on this

Much appreciated

Is it common for people to buy accounts ?

I notice I'm often up against people who are lvl 30 or 40+ with a bunch of titles and they just don't know how to play (sometimes they have the beginner duelist tag as well), are those accounts that were sold ?

Just finished ep 122, should i skip the fillers?

Saw on Wikipedia episode 123 to 125 are fillers and then there's a bunch of fillers from ep 130 to 157, are they worth watching? Which are the ones I should skip because they're either not fun or are just recaps ?

What's the proportion of elite players vs casual/new players in a typical YCS ?

Those event gather 1k+ people what do you think the proportion of elite players with 500$ deck is compared to people attending the event for the first time or coming with a tier 5 deck ?

Does everyone start by attending locals or do people go straight to bigger comps ?

Youtube premium for my use case

Hey there,

Do you think youtube premium would be worth it ? The main reason i'm thinking about subscribing isn't the ads (i'm not getting any on brave) but to be able to watch videos offline, since i often take the subway and there are moments where there is no reception it would allow me to create a playlist of videos i can watch without having reception during my commute

Would you say that makes sense or its just a waste and there's a better way to do it ?

Much appreciated

Best ressources to learn about Yu-Gi-Oh lore ?

I'm really interested in knowing more about the lore behind the cards, where should I start ? I have started master duel a couple weeks ago and there are so many cool cards/archetypes I know nothing about (most of them besides blue eyes and DM tbh)

I'm finishing duel monsters at the moment and I'm planning to watch all the iterations of Yu-Gi-Oh that came after

Deck diversity

Hey there, new player coming from pocket, all I'm seeing is dragapult, Cynthia's garchomp, zoroark, megastarmie, I

Is that how it is or is there more diversity in the decks down the line ?

I stumbled on a few tounament vids on yt and they're also using the same decks

Pocket is an inferior game but it has more diversity

Nioh 3 : NG+ map clutter

Hey there

I'm about to come back to the game after a couple of months, I finished the game and was ecstatic about starting the NG+ journey back then, but what stopped me from playing was the clutter of the map with all the icons with a grey check on them (indicating I had already completed that on the previous difficulty), can it be disabled to have a cleaner map or is it still not a possibility?

Many thanks !

Looking for a fun rogue deck for locals

I'm just starting out and don't want to invest hundreds of €€€ in a meta deck, which cheap fun rogue deck would you advise for playing competitive at a local level ?

I haven't bought a deck yet and I had the legendary modern deck in my sight but I doubt those would work in a local without adding expensive cards + everyone will have or know about those, kinda wanna have the element of surprise. I might get a copy anyway to get the staples.

I was also looking into blue eyes white destiny and adding sifr/crimson dragon but that's not really rogue

Many thanks !
