(MechEng) How to prepare for the selection exam?

I know that study materials and sample questions will be given at a later date to all applicants, but I was curious what I can do to prepare myself in advance, specifically for the Heat and Flow section.

Any advice from current students? Any help is appreciated

Made the mistake of ignoring the warnings. (G735)

I wanted to like this headset, I really did, got a great deal on it (around 90$ brand new). It was between these and the HyperX Cloud 3, and I think I am starting to regret my choice.

  1. It doesn't want to stay active in Ghub, after every restart, the device goes inactive in GHub (tried reinstalling drivers, manually installing them, different usb ports, switching from Aux to lightspeed, nothing works consistently)

  2. Abysmal range, at around 5 meters it starts cutting out, and what's worse, is that it either doesn't recover, it disconnects, or it goes inactive in Ghub which sends me back to problem one. I understand that might be a limitation due to the fact it can connect to 2 devices at once, but that sends me to the next problem

  3. When connected to two devices at once, it randomly goes to full volume, quite frequently.

  4. Sometimes it just dips for a few seconds, just cuts off and comes back when it pleases.

  5. It claims it should wake up when the PC gets turned on, it never worked.

It doesn't sound like much, but when they keep repeating everyday, it gets old quick, expecially for a headset that logitech claims is worth $259.99 (!!!). I am starting to understand why it was the last product on sale.

Are there any fixes for any of these problems? Seriously considering returning it, the audio/mic quality is slighly better than my old Clouds, but those were 5-6 years old and I don't see these lasting me as long.

Found on r/zippo

Would that kind of tool actually be able to paint a metal zippo? Or even get that kind of detail. Also, what are those complications? And the overalll lightning is off, unless I've reach psychosis.

Edit: just saw the 2 identic lighters in the background, the more I look the weirder it gets

The clasical post-game rant

Spoiler warning for obvious reasons

The best fight in the game was by far the nikke dlc.... which is... dissapointing, a close second was Raven, but still easier and less rewarding.

The worst boss? Every single one that required shooting, especially when the target wasn't the boss itself (looking at Unidentified Naytiba), using a controller makes it almost impossible to shoot and dodge at the same time, unless you disable every assist feature, which sucks doing in the middle of the climax.

Now time for more ranged mode rant, what the actual fuck were they thinking with the insta-death attack bosses have? Oh you entered Tachy mode? How about the boss just does the "you die move" with no counter play because you can't shoot. I used WB Pumps twice the whole playthrough, one on Unidentified Naytiba and one on the Last Boss, (the robot, forgot the name) because guess what happened both times? It would've felt less rewarding doing it again and praying for rng than just cheating death (which I personally dislike, not that there's anything wrong, it's a feature for a reason)

The exception to this was the Nikke dlc boss, because it doesn't force you to switch to the ranged mode, parrying was nice.

Another issue late-game bosses had was the health, the bar just doesn't move unless you use beta/burst skills, which isn't necessarily bad, since it requires perfect blocking/dodging to consistently use, but it still felt like it was too strong. Had to pivot from using an attack speed/double edged build to beta/crit, because it just wasn't doing damage.

Apart from those complains, the game was beautiful, exploration, while tedious at times (Why did we get 2 deserts?), was nice for the most part, story was average, while combat did the heavy lifting, oh and the music? Masterpieces, just wish I didn't have to mute it because I went insane after hearing the same track for the 100th time in the Wasteland and Great Desert (these 2 require more time to complete and my ears were starting to physically hurt)

Overall arbitrary scores:

Combat: 9.5/10 (chosing to ignore the ranged parts)

Exploration: 8/10

Music: 8.5/10

Story: 6/10

Graphics: N/A (wouldn't be fair scoring when I played on low settings, but some of the views were gorgeous)

Currently the credits are still rolling and I'll load up a save to decline Adam's offer, hopefully that boss fight will be better

Zion is my favourite!

Because u/Flint_Vorselon decided to mispell Xion in a reply a few years ago, quite a lot of google's AI overviews now mention this ephemeral place called "Zion"

What does the color of the eyes represent?

Unless I am missing something, the only 2 characters in the show with obviously colored eyes are Lain and Karl (the man in black with the eye laser who said she loved Lain ). The rest of the cast has gray eyes.

The show has a lot of close-ups of eyes, but that was probably done in order to not animate the characters speaking, still, if it was only Lain with colored eyes, I wouldn't think too much of it, but what makes Karl special?

Is he somehow related to Lain? My first instinct was that Karl is Lain's real father, but that doesn't sound right. Any theories?

FYI: Viego can't get shardblade

Unless you plan on never using your passive, had a game with 50 anvils and no shardblade, more than 200 anvils across multiple games, viego just can't, ty rito

There are 4 new themed skins in this patch, out of which, there is only 1 you can feasibly get from the battlepass. The themed mystery skin box, which replaced the 2 epic skins, doesn't include any of the other 3, it instead includes other loosely related skin lines, some of which are nearly a decade old. Compared to the old system where you were guaranteed 3 new skins and you knew which ones you were going to get, now you don't even know if 2 of the 3 skins are going to be worth it for you.

You can still get the skins from orbs....
