STBXW went silent after first mediation - does offering a settlement first hurt me ?

I'm going through a divorce and want to get some perspective from people who've been in a similar spot.

We've had one mediation session, but we ran out of time before getting to the actual mediation/negotiation portion — it was mostly intake and information gathering.

My wife has not reached out to schedule a second session, and it's been a while. She wants to squeeze the most out of me financially.

If I take the initiative and propose a settlement offer, could that work against me ?

Has anyone else had the other party go silent after the first mediation? How did you handle it?

Any advice or experiences would be appreciated. I'm trying to figure out whether to push forward or just let the process play out.

Considering making a settlement offer.

My wife has filed for divorce and has deflated her side of the assets. Despite this, I am considering asking my attorney to make a settlement offer. My primary objective is to avoid the high costs and stress of expensive litigation.

Has anyone else done something similar? What was your experience? Any pros and cons?

Spouse ended the marriage. It is painful and there are moments when I feel it was the right thing and there are moments when I miss being married to the person.

There are times when memories unexpectedly come up of being married to the person. Then I miss the person terribly. When in the middle of it, it is hard to pull myself out. What you all do to maintain a sense of evenness in case you go through similar emotions ?

Is it normal for a Male to get emotional when spouse wants divorce?

When my spouse wanted divorce I sometimes cried in private and sometimes cried in front of her. I am a male. Is this normal or most men handle divorce without any emotion ? If you had similar reaction to mine and are a male let me know.

Going through divorce. People I thought were friends never cared to check how I am doing.

Divorce is a difficult process. Reached out to friends for support and it always felt they did not have the time to just talk. When on call they seem to want to go back to whatever they were doing at the time. So I stopped reaching out and none of them reached out. When they had their struggles I always reached out and in some cases helped them in other ways. Has this been your experience ? Not sure if I will make friends again. Don't see the point. No surviving family members so I reached out to people I thought were friends.

Is it reasonable to expect spouse to take care of me when I am sick for couple days ?

When I get sick typically once a year with nasty cold / fever my spouse does not offer me basics such as food/soup since I don't have the strength to stand and cook. Is it reasonable to expect that a spouse will provide basic nutrition when I am sick? Spouse does bring food to their friend when their friend is sick but in my case I have to ask to the point of almost begging. In your marriage does your spouse has an awareness of you being sick with nasty cold or whatever and takes care of you ?
