First potential client call — need advice on cleanup pricing + what to cover at the meetup

I just got off the phone with my first potential client, and I’m excited but also trying to make sure I price things correctly and show up prepared.

She has 150-200 transactions, and I'm charging her 180. Told her my normal rate is 300, but I'm starting.

She also needs a cleanup from January through now, as her books haven’t been updated this year. I told her I’d get back to her with a cleanup price and that we could meet up so I can help her choose and set up her bookkeeping software (I gave her two options I work with).

I want to make sure I’m not undercharging for the cleanup. For trucking, there’s fuel, maintenance, tolls, settlements, etc.

Does that sound reasonable for a new bookkeeper offering discounted onboarding rates?

Also — when I meet her, what should I go over so I don’t freeze?

If anyone has tips on what else I should bring (notebook, laptop, simple pricing sheet, business cards?) or anything I should make sure to cover during the meeting, I’d appreciate it. I really want to help her out and start strong.

First potential client call !!!! need advice on cleanup pricing + what to cover at the meetup

I just got off the phone with my first potential client, and I’m excited but also trying to make sure I price things correctly and show up prepared.

She runs a small trucking business and has about 150–200 transactions per month. On the call, I told her my standard rate is $300/month for ~150 transactions, but since I’m building my portfolio, I’m onboarding a few clients at $180/month. She seemed happy with that.

I’m thinking:

  • $75 per month of cleanup
  • OR a flat $250–$300 for January → now

Does that sound reasonable for a new bookkeeper offering discounted onboarding rates?

Also — when I meet her, what should I go over so I don’t freeze?

If anyone has tips on what else I should bring (notebook, laptop, simple pricing sheet, business cards?) or anything I should make sure to cover during the meeting, I’d appreciate it. I really want to help her out and start strong.

Not charging 2027 bolt.

It’s been charging all morning but I got a notification it stoped charging. Idk if it matters but it’s hot outside. I do charge it outside.

New 2027 Chevy Bolt !!!

I just bought a 2027 Chevy Bolt LT (my first EV ever!), and I’m charging it at home using the regular Level 1 charger on an outdoor outlet. But it’s only giving me 1 mile per hour, which feels extremely slow. I expected it to be slow, but not this slow.

The charger’s brick is blinking green, so I’m assuming that means it’s working correctly. I don’t drive much, so I originally thought Level 1 would be enough… but at this rate, probably not.

Is a 2019 Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD a good car?

Range AWD with 62,000 miles for $21,000 from a local private seller. The car in the pictures looks clean and well‑taken care of. I’m planning to see it in person soon, but I wanted to get some opinions first.

For context, I was originally looking at 2023 Model 3s at dealerships, but this local 2019 popped up, and the price caught my attention.

This would be my first electric car — I’ve driven stick‑shift cars my whole life. I also have some health issues, so I’m looking for something low‑maintenance, reliable, and with strong AC. I’ve heard EVs can be great for that, but I want to make sure I’m not missing anything.

Is this a good car for someone in my situation, and is $21k a fair price for this model/mileage?
I’m located in North Carolina, if that makes any difference for pricing or ownership.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Trying to find my first bookkeeping client (remote in NC) — feeling stuck and could use advice

Hey everyone, I’m a remote bookkeeper based in NC and I’ve been trying to land my first client, but I’m honestly struggling.

I’ve posted in Facebook groups, but it feels super oversaturated. I’ve also DM’d small shops and local businesses, but no luck there either. I’m working on updating my website, and I’m even considering making simple content or maybe a TikTok just to get myself out there more.

My pricing right now is:
$75/month – 1099/simple clients
$149/month – small businesses
$249/month – higher‑volume or multi‑platform sellers
• Cleanup fee: $75
• Setup fee: waived

Part of me wonders if my prices are too low, or if the fact that I don’t have a profile picture on Facebook makes people not trust me. I know I have a lot of work to do, but it’s tough staying motivated when I haven’t gotten that first client yet.

I have the Sprint Unlimited Plan with 4 lines. I plan to upgrade 3 phones using current trade-in promos. Then I would like to switch to the essential plan since it's much cheaper monthly. Would that affect the promo credits? Should I wait until the financing is done? The promo doesn't seem to apply to the essential plans, which is why I haven't switched before upgrading phones.
