I'm doing Chemistry work to prepare for next year, and this involves electrochemistry. The question is something I want to work on on my own, but essentially, it involves lead(II) bromide.

I can get that Bromine forms a negative something ion, and that lead would be +2 in this situation to form an ion, but I can't wrap my head around WHY it is +2 when it has 4 electrons in the outer shell.

Whenever I have asked my teacher about this, he responds with "Don't worry, just know that it DOES form +2" and "We'll do transition metals later" but I need to understand why something works the way it does before I can understand it. I just can't accept that it is true until I know why it is true, and that's really stopping me from understanding ANY Chemistry work.

Can someone explain it to me? A dot and cross diagram would be good, but if not, just explain it like I'm a 5 year old.

I can't maintain eye contact and because I avoid peoples faces I only remember them from very distinct features. I avoid paying attention to how they look because I really do not like eye contact.

I am worried one day I will wake up and everyone will have changed and I will not remember them. Or one day everyone will be gone and I cannot recall their face.

Does anyone else have this problem and how can I work on it.

Hi. Today I took the step and deleted my main account on the social media I use the most, because I recognised that it was consuming my life and I was missing out on things I would actually like to do, and talking to people that are in my life instead of across the globe. It shaped me into a person I don't want to be. I've already been tempted to make another account, but I really really do not think I should go back. I know the first step is hard but it is important not to give in.

I want some ideas of things to do to take my mind off things. Hobbies you have, interesting internet rabbitholes, topics you find interesting to learn. Basically just anything fulfilling to occupy my time. Or if you have been in a similar situation please tell me what you did. Thank you.
