Mundhwa Flyover : wrong side driving final boss? [Not OC]

With a problem this obvious and this blatant, why is Pune traffic police not doing anything about it ?

Also note peak shamelessness of the drivers and riders who still go around.

What is the solution ?

Also I highly recommend not getting into any kind of confrontation on Pune roads as you never know who might pull out a Koyta or call 10-15 "पोरं" to vandalize your car/bike and beat you senseless. This driver was brave(or foolhardy, in Pune context).

Whether can be a solution ever with the kind of general population we harbour ?

Content not OC, and reposted from Punekar news.

PMC commissioner makes a candid admission about the PMC

This is not a doctored screenshot. It really was there for a couple of days and retweeted by multiple people.

Can mean two things : NK Ram is likely to be at the end of his tenure at the PMC. OR He is beyond genuinely frustrated.

Looking at his posts atleast, he comes across as a well meaning guy.

Kandy, Sri Lanka looks so organised, calm and serene, with an economy 1/50th that of Pune

Just stumbled across this video of Kandy, Sri Lanka. That made me go and find other driving videos of that city and man, it looks so orderly, clean and calm.

Watching them feels like looking at an alternate timeline had Pune continued its journey into the 21st century on its serene and sensible 80s/90s path.

  • The GDP gap in dollar terms is literally ~50x.
  • Pune’s single-year direct tax collection alone is roughly 15x higher than the entire GDP of Kandy district, again in dollar terms.

Then why does Pune look and feel like a bombed out warzone ? Junglee drivers, absent civic sense broken and non existent civic infra.

When/how will daily quality of life improve here for the average citizen who is not a guntha Mantri or a Babu ? Whether it will ?

Any fans of heel-n-toe shifter here ?

I love having a heel and toe shifter on a bike, especially in Indian conditions.

No need to slide expensive shoes under the lever for shifting.

Ruinous for footwear if not designed for it. Splattered with mud and road gunk due to our city conditions, I don't really like it on the footwear instead of underneath it on the sole.

Allows for a relaxed foot position and makes city commute easier.

Amongst 200cc+ bikes, I believe only some REs and the Honda H'ness/CB350 comes with one.

Even some 150cc bikes have done away with one.

Do people/market really overwhelmingly prefer toe shifter ? Or am I in the minority ?

I hit the $1 AdSense milestone.Time to retire.

After many months, I finally hit the landmark $1.00 milestone in AdSense. 😂

I don't even check it regularly, so I opened the dashboard today and realized I'd crossed the one-dollar mark.

It's a niche educational website aimed at introducing people to the subject, and honestly I've had more fun researching and building it than worrying about the earnings.

One dollar down... only another $99 to go before the first payout.

Only onwards and ahead then , I guess ?

Abysmal infra : Pune needs Rainy Holidays instead of Summer Holidays ?

Every year the situation is likely to get progressively worse thanks to rampant construction, poorly designed roads leading to them, lack of maintainance of existing roads, encroachments and poor civic sense like chucking garbage wherever they please.

Hence I think Pune schools and colleges need to declare Rainy Holidays instead of long summer holidays to save them the hardship.

Road Rage in Hinjawadi

Everybody is on a short fuse these days. Lots of रानटी / जंगली primitives on vehicles in these parts, and really next to no police presence.

Best course of action is to not engage. For yourself and your family, it's okay to swallow pride and move on.

What would be the likely outcome in the Lohgad case?

Will the perpetrators be punished to the maximum extent ?

Or will be let off quietly after the hype and hoopla dies down ? We have the case of the other Aggarwal Porschewale as live example. The kid is probably abroad somewhere by now.

My take :

The girls family are also moneybags, likely generational wealth. Mostly the judiciary is likely to side with Siya, and portray her as being pressurised by the lober , and she did so because there was a threat to her life. Thus, there will be successful projection of victim #2 of this crime, and she would be off the hook in a few months. Guy may do a few years, but would also be let off lightly.

What do people on this sub think ? We don't have enough good outcomes from high profile court cases in Pune, especially where rich people are involved. That's why I have less hopes.

Road rage मारा मारी in Baner

Road rage has gone way way up in the recent years, mostly due to the tendency of the police to ignore areas like Bavdhan, Baner, Mahalunge etc.

Why are people so fighty shouty Low IQ these days?

Spent all my life here as a Kothrudkar and it wasn't so bad earlier.

I am gutted

I have never ever cared much about celebrities , but as someone who got into "cars" because of shows like Top Gear, The Cars the Star, Clarksons Motorworld, Meet the Neighbours, a bunch of his special DVDs in my formative years, this one feels personal.

The trio was single handedly responsible for creating an entire generation of car lovers, across geographies.

Not just ICICI, this could be the stand for most insurance cos

In a twist of fate, just this year I shifted my E0/E5 compatible 16 year old cars insurance to ICICI Lombard. Running on E20+Hope100(%) for now, regular fuel, because premium is too expensive these days.

Those fancy engine protect and other add ons which insurance cos charge an extra premium for could now be denied going ahead as customer cannot arrange for non ethanol fuel.

Spare a thought for one of our real life Dhurandhars

Shri Kulbhushan Jadhav. Born : Sangli, Maharashtra Joined National Defence Academy in 1987.

Commissioned into the Navy : 1991

Premature "retirement" at the rank of Commander.

Morphed into Hussain Mubarak Patel. Left family behind in India.

Went to Chabahar, Iran. Entered Balochistan.

Paks charges : Hussain's aka Kulbhushan's maqsad was espionage, terrorism and sabotaging Pakistan from within and waging war on the state.

The specific acts Pakistan accused him of executing include:

Sponsoring Port Attacks:

He was accused of actively financing, directing, and executing terrorist attacks targeting the strategic Gwadar Port infrastructure.

Targeting Energy Infrastructure:

Pakistani authorities charged him with sabotaging and blowing up critical gas pipelines in the restive Balochistan province.

Financing Sectarian Violence:

The prosecution alleged he provided direct financial and logistical backing to anti-state Baloch insurgent groups and sectarian outfits to execute targeted killings in Karachi and Balochistan.

Impeding Law Enforcement:

He was accused of organizing armed ambushes designed to inflict casualties on Pakistani security forces and law enforcement agencies to disrupt peace operations.

India rejects all allegations and calls them fabricated.

He is caught and has been severely tortured and is isolated from everyone, and denied consular access and proper legal representation.

Hope Shri Jadhav and his family finds peace soon and I do pray for his wellbeing.

Driver runs red light, threatens motorist with a danda

Got this video from Twitter.

White Toyota Glanza, MH14KS4666.

Pune police will ofcourse, do nothing at all for such behaviour. Won't be surprised if this motorist is a policeman himself.

Where does all this entitlement come from ? Why are an overwhelming number of motorists in Pune breaking all laws ?

I wish Punekars luck for the upcoming months

Out of 2400 KMs of road networks in the city,, drains have been provided on 323 kms, capable of holding between 35-55 mm of rains.
