Jimothy litter cleanup event in Bellevue WA

The folks at Bellevue Green & Clean were inspired by the lovely idea our mod and Adopt a Street had and decided to host their own cleanup event in Bellevue for all our eastside Jimothy fans! It will happen concurrently with the Ballard cleanup night.

Witnesses needed: Hit-and-run involving bicyclist on 156th Ave NE near Microsoft Building 40 (Aug. 5 @ ~2:30 AM)

I'm hoping to find anyone who may have witnessed a hit-and-run that seriously injured my younger brother early this morning.

Around 2:30-3:00 AM on August 5, he was riding his bicycle southbound on 156th Ave NE, alongside the east side of Microsoft Building 40 in Redmond, when he was struck from behind by a vehicle. The driver did not stop.

Because he was hit from behind, he never saw the vehicle, so we unfortunately don't know the make, model, color, or any other identifying details.

My brother is a white male in his mid-20s with dark brown hair. He was riding a black Hoverfly bike with a white headlight mounted on the handlebars and was wearing:

  • Black T-shirt
  • Blue jeans with a large rip above the left knee
  • White sneakers with a black top-panel and white shoelaces
  • Black helmet with a flashing red light on the back
  • Orange backpack with teal trim

He suffered multiple broken bones in his face, broken teeth, a broken hand, and a minor brain bleed. Thankfully, the brain bleed is under control, and he's since been discharged from the hospital, but he has a long road to recovery with multiple surgeries necessary.

A police report has already been filed with Redmond Police.

If you witnessed the collision, have dashcam or video footage from the area between 2:30 and 3:00 AM, remember seeing either my brother or a vehicle leaving the scene, or even hear someone mention being involved in or witnessing this incident, please contact Redmond Police at (425) 556-2500. If you'd rather reach out to me first, feel free to send me a private message.

I've attached images showing the approximate location where the collision occurred.

Even the smallest detail could make a difference. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Overlake Medical Center vs Virginia Mason Medical Center

Registered Nurse moving to Seattle area from the Midwest in mid-September. I’ve got job offers in the critical care units from both Overlake Medical Center and Virginia Mason Medical Center. Now looking to decide which one to go for.

Asking for anyone’s experience with those hospitals, healthcare systems, locations, etc. Any advice or tips on the area/how to succeed as a nurse in Seattle. Thank you!

Who designed modern downtown Bellevue?

I'm walking through here for the first time and the architecture here is clearly different from the rest of the city. It feels like a blend of major Asian cities, mixed with Atlanta/Philly.

The Empire of the Stars series, by Melissa J. Cave, has audio versions for the first 2 in the series. Does anyone know if the last 3 will get audio versions?

{Traitor Son by Melissa J. Cave} and {Stardust Child by {Melissa J. Cave} both have audio versions. Is there any hope that the last 3 books in the series {Last of His Blood by Melissa J. Cave}, {A Congress of Roses by Melissa J. Cave} {Beloved of Stars by Melissa J. Cave} will have audio book versions?

Story and Skein at Nifty Knitter in Issaquah Monday, July 6

Do you knit, crochet, embroider, spin and/or want to learn a fiber craft? Do you enjoy fantasy? Do you want to make friends? The Nifty Knitter in Issaquah (Gilman Village) is hosting Story and Skein. The book is The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. The doors open at 5 pm and the story begins at 6.

I dont work there, but I'm a member of Eastside Stitchers, a fiber arts group that meets to craft together, and i thought this was a great idea for a night out.
