Hello all,

How are you all doing? I am currently a 35 year old gamer & trying to discover what others consider as a retro game.

In my opinion I consider a game as retro once it has been released for a minimum of 20 yrs. This means that many games/consoles & arcades in my opinion are retro.

I want to make a list of games I would like to play over the coming months & into 2027. How do you play these games/why?

How are you all doing? I want to invest in Nintendo Switch 2 for myself at the start of 2027 with the goal of starting a physical game collection & will display these in my gaming room/office space.

Do you have physical game collection/what platform? I dislike that the gaming industry is trying to force gamers into digital only for game collection & I have always been a collector as a hobby.

I am some what new to playing fighting games & my platform of choice is PC (Steam). What is your favourite sub-genre of fighting games/why?

I mainly enjoy anime fighting games & VS games like Street Fighter etc. My reason for this is because I was born in the 90s & anime was becoming popular in Australia especially Dragon Ball Z as well as arcade fighting games by Neo Geo such as KOF.

Do you enjoy ArcSys games? I have recently been looking at getting into playing the Guilty Gear franchise.

How are you all going? I mainly used PC to game on 1998 & this is still my preferred gaming platform.

My favourite game to play was Half-life 2 & I still enjoy playing this game even today. With my new PC I bought half-life 2 using GOG & still play weekly.

How are you all doing? I have only really been a gamer since I was 10 & currently 36 (as of 12/05).

How have your gaming habits changed/why? I used to mainly gaming on a console until my PS4 died, I then moved to PC & mostly I play games for 2 hrs each night longer on weekends.

I used to have 4-8 hr gaming sessions, but now it's hard to sit for that long in front of a screen without breaks & need to stretch my old bones 😂. I also moved from using a gamepad (controller) for fighting games & now use a leverless (all button) arcade stick this lessened dropping inputs.

I also no longer prefer a single type of gaming over another & just enjoy gaming in general as well as not only relying on singular brands.

Linux Mint desktop PC, ultrawide monitor + 27" gaming monitor, mic arm + mic, Stream Deck,

Both of these are used for gaming, video editing & running a Youtube channel.

What are some shmups on Steam Deck OLED? I enjoy games such as R-Type & Dodopachi.

I like to play many of these games using a controller & Steam Deck propped up with a stand. Are shmups a genre you have played many of on Steam Deck?

How are you all doing? I have only recently started to play this genre of games, I started playing these on X360 + PS4 & now transitioned to PC gaming exclusively.

I have been going back to some of the classics such as the KOF (King of Fighters) franchise & Street Fighter franchise. I have moved from using a gamepad (Xbox controller) to using a leverless or all button controller to play these games.

I have also been looking at getting Mister FPGA to play many retro fighting games from consoles & arcades. Do you like all fighting games or have preferred sub category of fighting games for example anime, 2D & 3D etc?
