I am glad to hear that I don't need to click on a separate Copilot icon or URL to access Copilot Personal or Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Switching between Copilot Personal and Work accounts starts rolling out on August 18, 2026, with broader deployment continuing into September.
✅ One Microsoft Copilot name and logo
✅ One updated Copilot app experience
✅ Microsoft Store, Apple App Store, and Google Play are moving toward one Copilot app for users to download
✅ The Microsoft 365 Copilot web experience is moving from m365.cloud.microsoft to copilot.cloud.microsoft
From the Copilot profile area in the bottom-left corner (that's the current placement, and we know Microsoft could move it again 😉), select your profile to switch between your Personal and Work accounts.
If your organization blocks personal Microsoft accounts through tenant restrictions, you may not see this option.
So whether you're using Copilot Free, Microsoft 365 Personal, Microsoft 365 Family, Microsoft 365 Premium, Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat, or Microsoft 365 Copilot for Business or Enterprise, the account you sign in with and the license/subscription attached to that account determine the Copilot experience and features you receive.
Personal Copilot Users: Some features are retiring, including Group Chat, Podcasts, and Deep Research. If you use any of these features, review Microsoft's information about what happens to your existing content before the change.

When creating a voiceover video, it is important to choose a voice that feels authentic and sounds like someone your audience could naturally associate with you.
Last year, I shared feedback with TechSmith that I couldn’t find voices in Audiate that sounded like me, an African American woman.
I’m glad to see that Audiate has added African American and more voices. Having diverse voice options in the Premium package makes it easier for me to create AI-generated narration that better represents the voice I want associated with my content.
Thank you, TechSmith and Audiate, for listening to customer feedback and continuing to expand the available voice options.

FYI for anyone wondering why the Link Preview hasn't been working in New Outlook.
Stop troubleshooting and share this with your team.
Microsoft has confirmed that the feature has been deprecated. What makes this confusing is that the setting is still visible, and Microsoft still has Support documentation for the feature.
I put together a short post explaining what Link Preview did, where it has stopped working, and what is still unclear:

I received an email today from TechSmith about Camtasia's ChatGPT plugin.
You can upload a screenshot or a series of screen captures of a recent UI change and see your instructional foundation drafted in seconds, ready for your refinement or final approval.
I need to see a video on how this works.
This could be very helpful to my workflow.
FYI for anyone using Copilot Chat Basic in New Outlook: I noticed today that “Summarize this email” is now appearing at the top of an email in my Basic account.
I previously associated this feature with Microsoft 365 Copilot Premium, so I was glad to see it available in my Basic account.
There is one behavior worth knowing before you start using it.
If you select Summarize this email from the top of the email, Copilot creates a new chat and saves it to your Chat History with the generic name “Summarize this email.”
Do that several times and you can end up with a long list of chats with the exact same name. You have to open them to figure out which email each summary belongs to.
If you only need a quick summary and do not need to save it:
The summary is still provided, but that Temporary Chat is not saved to your Chat History.
So the important difference is not the summary itself. It is where you select “Summarize this email” and whether you are using Temporary Chat.
For quick one-time summaries, I will probably use Temporary Chat. It keeps my Chat History from filling up with a bunch of conversations all named “Summarize this email.”
Has anyone else with Copilot Chat Basic started seeing this in New Outlook?

Microsoft is starting to store newly created Copilot Pages and Copilot Notebook artifacts in OneDrive for Business. The rollout is expected to start in mid-August and continue through September 2026.
For me, the biggest benefit is simple: organization. I can finally keep newly created Copilot content with my other OneDrive files and put it in the folders where it actually belongs.
One important thing to know: this only applies to newly created Pages and Notebook artifacts. Your existing Pages and Notebooks are staying where they are today.
There is also an admin/security benefit. Content stored in OneDrive will fall under OneDrive governance and Microsoft 365 security and compliance controls.
Admins can find the technical details in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center message MC1449182.

Copilot Notebook has been around since May 2025, but many Microsoft 365 users are still just discovering it.
Whenever I show it to Copilot Premium or Copilot Basic users, I usually get the same slightly frantic question:
“Is Microsoft replacing OneNote with Copilot Notebook?”
No.
They do different things, and you may end up using both.
OneNote is still useful for taking notes, organizing information, and building content over time.
Copilot Notebook is more focused. You select the sources you want Copilot to work with, then use that collection for questions, summaries, comparisons, and new content.
I put together a quick comparison with examples, licensing details, and a simple way to decide which one fits the work:
Blog Post: https://traccreations4e.com/copilot-notebook-vs-onenote/
I will publish a video in a couple of weeks. The Copilot Notebook entry points are changing again. So that should be fun.

FYI for anyone using Microsoft 365 for work or a small business: Microsoft’s global commercial pricing update takes effect July 1, 2026.
I recently spoke with a customer licensed for Microsoft 365 Business Standard who had no idea this was coming. Their Microsoft invoices and notices automatically go into an Outlook folder, so the messages were easy to miss. So, I thought I would share it with this community.
Existing customers keep their current price until their next renewal after July 1. The update affects select commercial, government, frontline, and standalone products. It does not mean every paid Microsoft 365 subscription is increasing.
The bottom line: Microsoft says the increase reflects years of added investment and new value across AI, security, compliance, productivity, and IT management.
Affected products include:
Standalone Microsoft Teams and Copilot SKUs are not included.

A few months ago, Microsoft moved the Copilot entry point from the Ribbon to a floating icon in the bottom-right corner. Many Copilot Premium users found it distracting.
There is now more flexibility.
In supported Microsoft 365 apps, you can right-click the Copilot icon and choose where it appears:
The catch is that the options are not consistent across every app.
➡️PowerPoint and Word support all four options on desktop and web.
➡️Excel supports all four on desktop, but only Dock and Show Welcome Pane on the web.
➡️Outlook and OneNote currently support the Ribbon placement only.
➡️OneDrive does not offer these placement options.
This is available with Microsoft 365 Copilot Premium.
I put together a two-page guide showing the four placements and where each one is available.
Personally, I prefer moving Copilot back to the Ribbon. What placement works best for you?

Spotlight 2 is different in how you select your shortcut buttons for pointer effects. If you want to use Spotlight, Squarelight, Magnify, or Annotate, you must first select the feature you want to use in the Logi Options+ settings.
You can assign only one feature to each of the Soft and Hard Press buttons.

Copilot can now automatically reschedule 1:1 events in New Outlook when a new calendar conflict appears.
I am glad you have to enable it for each eligible event, so Copilot is not managing your entire calendar. I was also able to choose acceptable days and times, including morning, midday, afternoon, or a custom time range.
It sounds useful, especially for flexible personal events and 1:1 meetings.
However, this is not a feature I would enable without first understanding what triggers the rescheduling, which meetings qualify, and what can cause Copilot to stop managing the event.
I shared the setup steps, limitations, notification settings, and my testing results here:

Do you add Camtasia markers to the Timeline or directly to the asset?
My preference is to add markers to the asset because they move with the media when I make edits. But I am wondering what others usually do.
I use asset markers to:
I add markers to the Timeline when the position within the overall project matters more than the individual asset. For example:
Where do you normally place your Camtasia markers: on the asset or the Timeline?

Hi All,
I am not a TechSmith employee. I am just a huge FAN of SnagIt, Camtasia, Audiate, Assets, and Screencast. I have produced 300+ videos on YouTube.
If you are on the fence about purchasing one of their products, they are currently running a 20% sale.
Here is a quick video on my favorite SnagIt features.

SHARING MOMENT: I normally use Camtasia’s color labels to track editing decisions:
Today, I used the labels differently.
My timeline had four main assets:
Because the demo recordings were overlaid on the talking-head recordings, I needed a quick way to ensure I was editing the correct assets.
I locked the two talking-head assets and assigned color labels to the demo assets. This made it much easier to identify what I was working on and reduced the risk of accidentally editing the wrong recording.
How do you use color labels to manage more complex Camtasia timelines?

Hey all,
I thought I would share my experience with the Spotlight 2 Presenter Remote. I spent a few weeks testing and using the Logitech Spotlight 2.
I present and train a lot, so I wanted to see if it was actually useful or just a newer version of the same clicker.
I like it so far.
The digital pointer, highlight effects, and vibrating timer alerts are the main features I see myself using.
Smart Actions seem useful, but I did not find them very intuitive. The recorded keystroke option, in particular, takes some figuring out.
The breathing feature surprised me. I thought I would ignore it, but I tried it several times before presenting, and it helped. I will use it again.
Overall, I do think Spotlight 2 is better than the original Spotlight, and definitely better than the R400 if you want more customizations.
I made a walkthrough video of the setup, settings, and features in case anyone is interested.

My 20-minute tutorial video is 95% complete.
- One more final review
- Edit the transcription in Audiate since Camtasia does not always get my dialect correct.
- Download and publish tomorrow. 🤞🏾
Yea.
One down and five more videos to go.

CHRISTMAS LIST IN JULY.
It would be nice to have the option to save a Snagit video capture as a TREC file instead of only an MP4.
Sometimes, I record a screen capture in Snagit, but then I need—well, let’s be honest—I want Camtasia’s cursor effects. 😂
Maybe if I send to my Christmas list in July to TechSmith's elves, the feature will arrive by December. 😉🤣
