2002 XL1200C

Havent been getting much ride time on my sporty since i bought it in June. Had been sitting in dudes garage for at least a year and had a few minor issues getting it home.

Broke a footpeg, found out battery was toast and had to be boosted twice, and had an oil leak behind rear cylinder that i just couldnt pinpoint.

Found front exhaust stud broken a week later and had nothing but a bad time trying to get it out so i stripped the head and brought it to a shop to fix.

Took a while to get the gaskets and find the time to get it all back together. After bolting everything back up i decide to check the primary chain tension for shits and giggles and find the primary fluid is milky. Planned on doing a fluid change anyways but found that odd.

Dad wants to take his shadow for a ride so i figure to hell with it, short ride wont do any harm. Bike rattles like crazy over 2000rpm so i pull it into my dads shop and take a stethescope to it and luckily i just hadnt bolted down the tank properly.

In my rather meticulous inspection trying to find the rattle though i also notice the starter has come loose. Can move it about 1/16th of an inch either way. Well that explains the milky oil and mystery leak at highways speeds. So now waiting on primary and starter gaskets.

Hopefully ill get some real miles in her before the snow starts flying next month 🤦‍♂️

Considering painting my Noble team.

Heavily debating painting my Noble team. Part that worries me most is messing up and having to strip them, which would remove any factory printing and basically theres no way to return them to normal. It took me a lot of time and dollars to put together the set and just nervous to take the jump.

LEGO would never!

Say what you want about Mattel but they really go all out when it comes to custom bricks. Like the amount of printing is one thing but actual carbon fiber texturing?? (Yes i know its not real carbon fiber). Now Im not a model car enthusiast, but i have a couple speed champions cars and built a few large Technics and let me tell you, this Supra blows them all out of the water. You get all the fun of a brick built set with details that rival high end model kits.

Small rant.

Before anyone climbs down my throat, i know im being whiny and should just be happy i got the set.

Has anyone else experienced difficulties getting new products? Last night i seen my local walmart stocked the new Supra.

I placed the order for pick up today, and an hour before my scheduled pickup time the order was cancelled with no specified reason. The set showed back in stock, so re ordered for immediate pick up.

I drove straight to walmart and asked customer service to look into my cancelled order, and that i would wait in person for them to collect the set (It was not on shelves).

The person i guess in charge of online orders immediately blamed it on a delivery driver, then clammed up when i said my order was for pickup.

He "checked" the back and returned saying it must be a system glitch showing they have stock. I told him i suspect someone is stashing them, as our walmart seemingly never has anything limited edition, even when the website says they do. Ran into the exact same issue with the Civic and orange pickup truck.

I admit i went a bit Karen and asked for a manager to look into it. He walks back into the room and returns less than 30 seconds later saying "oh they guy just pulled them, here you go"

So i got my Supra. But still have a bad taste in my mouth as ive been suspecting them of doing this sort of thing for a long time. I left a negative survey explaining all this too, but dont expect anything to change.

Bat-pod MOC

Still have the rear half to finish up but detail work on the front and mid section is fairly complete. Added a "Hero" scale figure to show proportions. Build will have working suspension and steering and the right hand turret is free floating as well, albiet an "illegal" technique is used.

Whats wrong with this set?

Something seems really off about this things proportions but i cant really put my finger on it. It looks fine from the top view angles but from the side it seems really wonky. Is the front too long? Is the windscree too far back? Are the tires too small? What say you?

Technic Batpod

Work in progress shots of my custom Batpod. Should have working steering and suspension, but the guns will be tricky.

Hot Take: the Batman Big Fig is not that bad.

Dont get me wrong, he is a bit too large compared to the batpod, but i think he suffers more from articulation than scale. With some minor tweaking to the knee and foot rests Batman can sit lower to the bike. I also rotated the rear wheel hubs sp the rear of the bike sits a bit higher off the ground. If we could get a double jointed knee and make the hips rotate further forward i think the figure overall would look much better on the bike.

Tumbler MOC

Finally ordered all the parts for my Tumbler MOC.

Idea behind the design is to have a batpod build fully incorporated into the tumbler with relatively simple parts swapping and no loose pieces.

Will have to play with some angles and its likely more of a display piece as there are many hinges. Its significantly smaller than the scarecrow chase set while still being able to seat 2 minifigs.

Came out to around 60cad plus shipping from 3 different stores and thats with enough pieces to build a second batpod (roughly 475 total pieces).

Custom Lego figures

Made a few of my favorite Elden Ring characters in Lego. Designed and 3D printed the pot, painted the gold on Malenia. Otherwise all official Lego pieces.

Chaos bike color scheme

Bit of a repost from a couple years ago, but thinking of repainting my Akira-slide Kharn kitbash. Im pretty pleased with how Kharn himself turned out but i think i got a bit lazy by the time i started on the bike. I like the idea of it looking like burning embers, but if people have suggestions or examples on how to best paint W.E. vehicles im open for it. Also need to put some attention into the baseplate to make it look like torn up pavement.

Is this really a chopper?

In the movie Pulp Fiction, Bruce Willis' character says "its not a motorcycle, baby, its a chopper" when asked about Zed's bike. That line has always irked me, because aside from maybe having slightly longer forks and raised bars i dont see much chopping. Thoughts?

Tumbler w/ "ejectable" Batpod MOC

Pretty well finished up the design of my custom tumbler. All the parts for building the batpod are incorporated into the build with relative ease of access. Can seat 2 minifigs with cowls and has an opening canopy. Will have to physically build it to see how unstable it is but for the most part it should be solid.

Ejectable Batpod WIP

Very early proof of concept for an ejectable batpod and tumbler design. Trying to make it as detailed as possible, with minimal parts swapping. Aside from the turrets and rear swingarm, everything hinges into place. The hand controls *should* also make an effective steering mechanism for the tumbler, which follows the original design concept.

Anyone here in/near Alberta Canada?

Hi im considering making/ordering a custom timing cover for my Sportster. Im wondering if there is anyone relatively local that could do the pour for me, closer to edmonton alberta the better. Ive contacted a couple forges but no one does casting apparently. I would essentially design and 3d print it to make a sand cast. Size is roughly 2 inch round, no more than 1/4 deep with a flat back side made of brass ideally. Basically a large one sided coin. I dont want to deal with shipping internationally. If anyone can assist or has some pointers i would appreciate it. I still need to design the thing, so urgency is not a factor.

Custom points cover options?

Hey all, got a lot of love for my chrome Sporty. Thank you all. Looking it over and finding bits and bobs that need to be cleaned up/replaced and noticed my points cover has some discoloration. I could try polishing it out, but im also toying with the idea of getting a custom engraved points cover made. Something like a silver dollar or texas ranger star. Anyone done something similar? Not looking to get an off the shelf, Willie G cover. Also can anyone tell me why the points cover is riveted on, with screws underneath?

New to me 2001 1200, chop or polish?

Just picked up this 2001 1200 custom. Rode it 300km home without knowing jack about it. Left footpeg broke off after 50km, swapped them out with the rears. Battery is apparently toast, had to get strangers to boost the bike twice after stopping for fuel. Its got some kind of oil leak behind the rear cylinder, im thinking/hoping its the lines behind the oil tank. Not to mention a semi blowing a stop sign and nearly forcing me into the ditch at 100km/h... its been a wild day.

Completely chromed out, was that a factory option? Undecided what i want to do with it, my goal was to make a hardtail chopper out of it but its kind of growing on me as is.

Large scale Lego Juggernaut

Working on recreating an MOC i seen posted a few years ago on flickr. Havent found any instructions beyond a few 360° photos. There are a few pieces not available in these colors so some changes will have to be made. If the original artist sees this I thank you for your work.
