This sub automatically rejects posts from people who haven't been active on the sub, or have been but not in a positive way. Upon request, we approve posts from newcomers, if they clearly fit the sub. Most clearly fit or clearly don't.

The ones I am least sure about are the ones trying to sell something to bike shops. If it's a tool inventor, we always approve them. Open-source software, good or bad, is also OK. But we also get lots of people hoping to sell software for shop management, probably vibe coded.

Should we go ahead and approve them and let the community downvote and otherwise skewer the bad ones? Or should we just reject them all?

• There's no cloud or even wireless communication involved in the load management operation. And you don't need to fit a power meter unit in your panel somewhere. The analog wires from the CTs run all the way to the EVSE and attach to four terminals there. Run in the same conduit as the power wires, or a separate conduit. 13 ft. of wire included; up to 150 feet allowed.

• Load management certified to UL 3141, which will be required with 2026 NEC once you are on 2026 NEC.

• Spring/level (wago style) terminals so no torque tools needed (at the EVSE end) and easy cable replacement (in theory also swapping J1772 to NACS--they offer both models now; not sure about replacement cable availability.)

• Tom's review on State of Charge) demonstrates great cable flexibility in the code and that it's otherwise well built. The star rating is only 4.2 but that's mostly because he rewards cheap ones for being a good value. Also because it doesn't have OCPP, power sharing, solar capture, or access control. Edit: OCPP situation might be more complicated--see comments.

I hung out with my friends' 11 year old over the weekend. He's into music and learning to play. And he told me that he hates jazz! I was so pleased to learn that they are raising him right. I think early exposure to John Coltrane is the key.

Any other tips for raising kids to properly understand and detest jazz?

We've long had a rule that removes posts from users with extremely low subreddit karma, but leaves a comment encouraging them to contact us if they think it really should be manually approved. This works really well, but it seems like something has changed such that the users are blocked from submitting that post in the first place. We want to go back to the old approach, so they can get that message. We also don't want them to be told about the rule--learning about it induces junk karma-fishing comments.

Is there a way to turn off that feature and revert to allowing but then removing the post? Or, if not, can someone suggest a workaround, like maybe first changing the flair and then a second rule that removes it in response to the new flair?
