Frequent toilet trips

I have recently had a UTI. Finished antibiotics on Monday. My only symptom of that infection was burning sensation.

A few months ago I had noticed I’ve been having frequent toilet trips more than usual lately. 10-12 a day. I used to be maybe 5-6. I feel like I’m going more than what I’m even drinking even though I know that’s impossible 😅. It’s bothering me a little and making me feel constantly nervous thinking there is something wrong with my kidneys! I’ve had a CT scan of my kidneys and ultrasound of the bladder/urinary tract back in April. Everything looked normal.

I did notice on my recent antibiotics my frequent trips subsided but now back! Has anyone ever experienced something like this?

Baclofen

I’ve recently started Baclofen for spasms and pain. I’ve noticed my bowel movements are out of sorts since. I’m on a low dose 5mg 3x a day. I know constipation is a common side effect.
Has anyone had constipation on Baclofen at a low dose like this??

Side effects

I was on sertraline years ago for health anxiety. The first month I had the worst side effects. Anxiety heightened to a maximum i literally thought I was losing my mind. I don’t know if I’m sensitive to these drugs but It honestly traumatised me! I was on sertraline for 2 years, came off it because I felt great. That was 3 years ago.

Fast forward my health anxiety (OCD) is as bad as ever. Doctor wanted me to go back on Sertraline and I point blank refused. She has suggested Prozac.

I know the side effects are different for everyone. What kind of side effects should I expect?

I feel like my body is giving up

I haven’t been diagnosed with h pylori but reading through this forum I’m suspicious. Here are my symptoms.. tummy ache/burning and insane nausea around 1-2 hours after eating, weird zap pains around my belly button, mild headaches, anxiety, no energy, dizziness, rib/flank pain radiating to breast (had a breast ultrasound and ecg - all good), pain between shoulder blades, random little patches of dry skin, constipation and most recently leg pain and twitching.

I’ve had full blood count done, vitamin d and b12. Iron levels are normal too. I don’t know what is going on but this has been going on for months!! I have an endoscopy next Wednesday but I am so scared they are going to find something bad in there. Surely a tummy infection couldn’t cause all them symptoms! I’m 36(F) and i honestly feel like my body is giving up on me 😢.

Symptoms - does anyone else have ribcage pain?

My vitamin D levels recently came back at 11ng. Doctor prescribed 3200iu daily for 4 months. I have been unwell since the start of this year - recurrent uti’s, migraines, depression and lack of energy. I have been deficient before 5 years ago.

Within the last two months my symptoms have gotten much worse - GI issues (stomach), muscle aches, muscle twitches especially in my calves, neck pain and pain between the shoulder blades, base of skull pain, dizziness, fainting and ribcage pain. It’s the ribs that are annoying me most. It’s like flank pain that you would get with kidney troubles. I have had an ultrasound of the kidneys last month so I’m pretty sure it’s not my renal system.

Has anyone experienced this symptom with the ribcage?

Metochlopramide

I have been on this anti sickness med now a few weeks. When I started taking it the first week it was great, completely got rid of my sickness due to gastritis. In the last week or so I’ve had really bad muscle pain in my forearms and calves. Restless legs at times too. I am aware that Metochlopramide can cause akathisia with long term use, but I don’t feel I have been on it long enough. What exactly are the symptoms of akathisia?

Sore muscles/restless legs after fainting?

I fainted for the first time 8 days ago, I was on holiday. It happened in a sitting position. I was unconscious for around 2 minutes. The days after I fainted I still felt quite floaty and ever since I’ve had aches and pains in my legs and they also feel restless. Did anyone ever experience this? I didn’t fall as I was briefly able to tell my husband I think I’m going to faint, so he and a kind woman lowered me to the ground and lay me flat. I have been to the doctor and he is doing full blood work up and ecg monitoring.

Does this sound like silent reflux?

I’m going to try and not babble on too much 🙈
4 months ago(May) I had severe heartburn, doctor put me on omeprazole. Done a great job, heartburn went away within days.
2 months later (July) I notice tummy ache and really bad nausea after eating certain foods, bloated and generally not feeling well in upper tummy region. I went bland food wise and tummy seemed to settle somewhat. I still get nausea occasionally and it can be random.
Start of August drinking a cup of tea one morning I notice a post nasal drip feeling, slight want to dry cough and a funny feeling in my throat.
Since then I have had what I can only describe as thick mucus stuck between the back of my nose and throat. I feel like the back of my mouth/throat is almost burnt. If I try to put my tongue right back the back of my throat or mouth feels rough. I am also still getting nausea occasionally.
It’s annoying me beyond belief 🙈
I know I must have something going on and have a gastro appointment in 2 weeks.
But does this sound like silent reflux or do I need a ENT doctor instead?

How many is too many?

Hi,
I’ve had Migraine with Aura now for the last 6 years. I started with maybe 1 - 2 episodes a year. I would have got the aura and no headache what I hear is called a silent. In the last 6 months I have had 4 - 5, but noticed I am getting a headache after the aura, not excruciating but just a nasty headache. I had one 2 weeks ago and then again this evening.

It’s slightly worrying me that they have become more frequent. I have MS so I have yearly brain MRI’s so I know it’s nothing scary going on as such. My last MRI was 3 months ago.

Is it normal for migraines with aura to be that frequent??

What is gastritis?

Hi everyone, I have been having a lot of stomach/bowel issues lately. In Feb I had a really bad uti and was on 3 rounds of antibiotics. After the antibiotics I constantly felt like I had a bowling ball stuck under my left ribs with a lot of belching and loss of appetite. It did kind of subside but never fully left me.

6 weeks ago I started getting intense sharp pain radiating to the groin with nausea and constipation.. Doctor has suspected diverticulitis. Waiting on tests. I was told to go on a low fibre diet for this.

Since then the bowling ball feeling is back I am literally belching after anything I eat or drink!! Even a sip and I feel like I need to burp it’s horrible! Depending on what I eat It gets worse and I have pain in my tummy area like I’m nearly swollen and feel really full below my sternum and under the left ribs. It hurts to push on my tummy area. Doctor thinks now I have gastritis as well. Does this sound like gastritis? And if it does how on earth do I get rid of it???? It’s AWFUL!! I am on a waiting list for a endoscopy.
Before all this started I had been going through a really stressful time.

Need advice please!

I have just been diagnosed with diverticulitis through colonoscopy. Symptoms started 5 weeks ago - bloating, no appetite, stabbing lower left abdomen pain radiating to the groin, nausea, constipation and diarrhoea. While the pain has basically gone, I’m still getting the odd twinge which the doctor said is normal. Stools have also returned to normal. But I still don’t feel good, like I’m still feeling a bloated feeling and just not right in the bowel region after I eat. It’s hard to explain. Is this normal?
I was told to eat high fibre after I feel a lot better but any fibre I eat gives me them twinges. I’m literally afraid to eat!! Because I’m scared of what way it’s going to affect me.

Do my symptoms sound gallbladder related?

Hi all, 36F I have been having some GI issues now for a while. I was diagnosed around 8 years ago with IBS but for the last few years it seemed to vanish!. I just don’t know what’s going on at the moment with my body I feel like I’m losing my mind! The doctors are testing me for celiac first but mentioned the possibility of gallbladder problems if celiac comes back negative.

I’m aware your gallbladder is on the right, but all my symptoms seem to be on the left! It started with severe pain between my shoulder blades radiating to my ribs and a sicky/heartburn feeling. Lately I’ve been having bloat, but not the pregnant bloat, just bubbles/gurgling throughout my whole GI system after a meal.. not all meals though! And then a complete rush to the loo with bad diarrhoea. This will last for days and I get an intense lower left abdomen stabbing pain that radiates to my groin with lower back pain. The pain only eases when I either don’t eat or eat extremely bland and my bowel habits are ranging between constipation and diarrhoea. I’ve been feeling so unwell now for ages and I’m worried 😔

Bloating

I’m going for my Celiac blood test tomorrow morning. I was told to eat as much gluten as I could the last 7 days. For my evening meal I had a curry because so far as I’ve been tracking my food it seems to affect me the worst!

I wanted to ask when anyone has consumed gluten, as you’re eating can you actually feel your stomach/bowels bubbling with bloat straight away? Mine does and I just know after 30 minutes I’ll be running for the loo! And then bloated all evening and all day tomorrow!

Does this/ did this happen anyone else?

Awaiting tests

Hey everyone,

I have been having lower left abdomen stabbing pains radiating to the groin area with lower back pain on and off for a couple of months. Stools are ranging between diarrhoea to constipation depending on what I eat. On and off nausea. I originally thought I had diverticulosis because that’s what it kind of sounds like (to me). I went to Emergency Department as the stabbing pain was so intense at one stage. I had a ct of the lower abdomen in hospital and the doctor said no diverticulosis noticed. I have had ibs in the past but it hasn’t bothered me in years, and it was more cramps and then I went to the bathroom the cramps disappeared. It doesn’t feel the way my ibs used to be. Doctors are thinking celiac possibly. I have no clue of what symptoms celiac would cause to be able to compare to maybe symptoms I have had that I’ve just shrugged off? Could anyone please tell me what tests is done to confirm celiac? Thank you

Does this sound like diverticulitis?

Around a week ago I started getting lower back ache. The next day after a meal I started getting left side lower abdominal stabs (very painful) and a pain/pressure feeling right above my pubic bone (it almost feels like I’ve a uti, but don’t as been tested). I’m extremely bloated but feel unable to pass any gas, even if I take a drink my whole digestive system is gurgling.

I went to the hospital 3 days ago. They thought it was kidney stones. I was quite sure it wasn’t and told them this as to me it feels like a bowel issue. Ct scan was done on kidneys and hey ho no kidney stones! They sent me home and told me it sounds like a stomach bug and it will pass!! I do feel slightly better today after taking probiotics but I still feel it.

This is the second time I’ve felt this pain, first was 3 months ago after 2 rounds of antibiotics. This time I was taking a lot of ibuprofen due to a sore shoulder. My brother has diverticulitis and he said it sounds exactly the same way he was. Does it sound like it? I’m so frustrated no doctor is listening to me!!

Feeling so unwell, any advice greatly appreciated

36F. I started getting a dull ache/stiff like pain in my very lower back 5 days ago. 3 days ago i started getting a random stab pain in my lower left abdomen, where roughly your ovary would be located, and random pains down the front of the left groin/leg. Since then i have been extremelyyy gassy to the point if i even drink water I am belching and tummy gurgling. The pain in my abdomen now feels like dull cramps just above my pelvic bone. Back ache still there and I also feel like I need to pee a little more than usual.
I have been on quite a lot of medication lately so felt it could have been colon related. I also have missed a few contraceptive pills over the last fortnight and felt it could be a period/breakthrough bleeding but no bleeding has occurred. I’m worried it’s something sinister as I do worry about my health. I feel generally very unwell with it. Any suggestions?

Please any advice

I really need advice please, as I am struggling! I started getting under arm/rib pain around 6 weeks ago. It wasn’t unbearable but I’d had it for roughly a week so I went to the doctor. She completely ignored my suggestion of costo (as I’ve had it before but only ever in the left sternum area). The doctor went straight into breast cancer chat, examined me and felt no obvious lumps or bumps but said she would refer me for a check up anyway to be on the safe aside. I have health anxiety. So when I left that doctor my head went into a frenzy. My anxiety went through the roof, and since then (6 weeks ago now I have been having extreme ache like pain between the shoulder blades, left sided sternum pain and the same rib pain under the left underarm. I get sharp pains here and there in my lower ribs when I breathe in every now and then too.

Has anyone ever experienced pain in this area close to the breast? Does it sound like costo? I don’t feel pain in my actual breast tissue, the pain feels deep. The pain in my sternum was so bad around 3 weeks ago I took a trip to A&E as I honestly felt I was having some sort of heart problem! Probably also exacerbated by my anxiety.
Breast referral was put down as routine examination so I have a 2 month wait to be seen.
Any thoughts/advice greatly appreciated!
