Last day I met a who's in his late twenties. He came to pick me up in his new car. On our way home I got to know that he bought the car to increase his chances of finding a bride, apparently someone had told him "Car illathonda pennu kittathe"!

We laughed about it and then he was telling me how his generation (28-33) got fckd. Because most of the trad girls got married off in their mid-twenties to grooms in this age category. But finally when the men got into this bracket, there were no brides!

The young girls either don't wanna get married at all, or prefer someone more chill and of the same age.

അമ്മയുമായി ചന്തക്ക് പോയതാ വൈകീട്ട്. ഇനി വീട്ടിലേക്കുള്ള പാപ്പം വാങ്ങണ്ടത് ഞാനാണല്ലോ എന്ന തിരിച്ചറിവ് വഴിയിലെവിടെയോ വെച്ച് കിട്ടി.

മഴ ചാറിയതുകൊണ്ട് carലായിരുന്നു പോയത്. വൈകുന്നേരത്തെ തിരക്കിൽ car ഇടാൻ പാകത്തിന് ഒരു കടയിൽ തന്നെ കയറി park ചെയ്തു.

അകത്ത് കയറിയതും, പണ്ട് അമ്മയുടെ സാരിവാലിൽ തൂങ്ങി bakeryൽ കയറിയിരുന്ന കൊച്ചു കുഞ്ഞായി ഞാൻ മാറി. വീട്ടിലെ എല്ലാവരുടെയും ഇഷ്ടത്തിനുള്ള സാധനങ്ങൾ വാങ്ങിക്കാൻ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു. “ഇതിനൊക്കെയല്ലേ പണിക്ക് പോകുന്നത്!” എന്ന് ഉദ്‌ഗധിച്ച് ഇരുന്നു.

ബിൽ UPI payment ചെയ്യാൻ മത്സരിച്ച് rewards കൊടുക്കുന്ന ഒരു ലോഡ് mobile appകൾ ആണല്ലോ ഇപ്പൊ.

കളികൾ പലവിധം. പെട്ടി തുറന്നും ചീട്ടിൽ ഉരച്ചും കിട്ടിയ ക്യാഷ്ബാക്കും കൂപ്പണും നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ കാറിനടുത്തേക്ക് നടന്നു. കാർ തുറന്ന് അകത്ത് കയറി ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ spinwheel കറങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്.

കുറച്ച് നിമിഷങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളിൽ ഒരുത്തന്റെ നിഴൽ door windowൽ തട്ടി. Door തുറക്കാതെ, അടച്ചിട്ട windowലൂടെ സംശയാലുവായി മിഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന എന്നെ നോക്കി അവൻ അവിടെ തന്നെ നിന്നു.

എന്റെ സൈഡിൽ നിന്ന് അനക്കമൊന്നുമില്ലെന്ന് കണ്ടപ്പോൾ അവൻ തന്നെ door തുറന്ന് എന്നെ നോക്കി പറഞ്ഞു:

“Bro… car മാറിപ്പോയി. ഇതെന്റെ carആ.”

ഞാൻ ഞെട്ടി തിരിഞ്ഞ് അകത്തേക്ക് നോക്കി. വ്യത്യസ്തമായ ഒരു ലോകം. Same same Alto… but different! steeringൽ leather cover, അവിടേം ഇവിടേം എന്തൊക്കെയോ കുണ്ടാമണ്ടികൾ തൂങ്ങി കിടക്കുന്നു…

അതിനൊക്കെ അപ്പുറം മറുവശത്തെ door windowലൂടെ നോക്കുമ്പോ… ദേ കിടക്കണ് എന്റെ car! 😮‍💨
