Selling my 2022 MacBook Air (M2) is there any way to recover files after “Erase All Content and Settings”?
About to sell my 2022 MacBook Air (M2 chip). I used “Erase All Content and Settings” to wipe it before selling. Just curious from a technical standpoint is there any tool or method (forensic software, data recovery services, whatever) that could actually recover files (photos, messages, etc) after that kind of reset on Apple Silicon?
I know older Macs/HDDs were recoverable with the right tools even after deletion, but I’ve read Apple Silicon’s Secure Enclave encryption makes it basically impossible once the keys are destroyed. Just want to double check before I hand it over to a buyer is this actually bulletproof, or is there some known method/exploit that gets around it?
