Roast me

Roast me

I’ve been planning trips with my friends for a while now and it’s always difficult to read between the lines with regards to budget. It’s also super difficult to keep following up with folks on help with organisation.

So I’m creating Sorted so I can align budgets early and track trip planning more efficiently without any of the awkwardness.

I’d love to know if anyone has the same issues!

The excruciating pain of planning a trip

Posted this elsewhere but this is the best home for it:

I’ve spent the last 1.5 years planning trips with my friends and it’s insane how the burden of deciding the budget falls on the organiser.

When it comes to budget, I feel like:

  1. People who are most budget conscious speak up the least
  2. The organizer inevitably has to choose options that everyone hates or is too expensive because they have no clarity over what the group wants to spend
  3. I feel like I’m the enemy everytime I plan something because I have 0 clarity

And another pain for me as an organiser is that I need to have the vision and execute everything (research, logistics, reservations, etc) which is EXCRUCIATING.

So I wanted to flip this f**king pain of loving my friends and hating them too into a fun app to help other type A organisers.

This app is a control system for my other type A planners. It allows you to collect budgets early on, root recommendations / activities on whether it aligns with the budget, and delegate tasks to others (e.g finding accommodations, booking restaurants).

Another travel app idea…🙃

Yes, please forgive me. But I’ve spent the last 1.5 years planning trips with my friends and it’s insane how the burden of deciding the budget falls on the organiser.

How to build customer loyalty and bring them back

Wondering how restaurants track their customers and bring them back in. Or better yet, do restaurants have the time to manage this?

Feeling super lonely

Hi everyone, the solo journey is really starting to creep up. It’s tough not having people who are in the same stage or going through the same thing to speak to. I also find that ALL I think about is my product, my ICP, and how painful the next pivot is going to be.

So I was thinking of creating a fun game or some kind of interactive tool (for free) for other solopreneurs to use to get you through the blues.

Crowdsourcing ideas so if anyone wants anything let me know.

Anyone been to Japan?

Humour me: planning to visit Japan and felt cultural anxiety? They have so many rules and customs that cultural faux pas are bound to happen. Some make for a funny story (the time I ate a plum and thought it was poisonous) while others get you really intense stares.

So I was thinking it could be fun to have an app that tracks your itinerary and gives you the right cultural context in the moment.

Does this sound like something you’d find fun to use while travelling?

I built for the wrong ICP…need help pivoting

Im building a tool (getgaia.io) that identifies at-risk customer segments and drafts a personalized message to win them back.

I built this after several interviews with home businesses but turns out they don’t have the capacity to absorb more orders.

So I’m trying to find another ICP. Any idea who would find this useful? I was thinking DTC subscription businesses but any advice would be helpful!

P.S: if anyone is worried about customer churn I’d love to understand your challenge!

Scaring people off…?

Every time I reach out to an ICP, they treat me like the plague.

Any guidance on how you approach them or just someone who gets a lot of « not interested » 🙃

A story of how my ICP isn’t my ICP

Im building a micro SaaS platform that identifies lapsed customers and drafts a personalized message to win them back (if you want to check it out it’s getgaia.io). I built this for home businesses after user interviews citing expensive marketing costs and inability to get more orders as main pain points.

One assumption I made was that these people are growth oriented and would increase capacity if it meant more revenue. Apparently not.

So now I’m trying to rework the ICP to see who would benefit from this lapse + win back mechanism. Anyone here that would find this useful? I’d love to know what industry you’re in!

Customer loyalty in this market...

How are businesses thinking about loyalty and retention? I don't know how I need to be building relationships with my customers.

Keep track of your past orders

My mum really struggles to keep all her order history and customer information in one place. I was wondering if there's something you use?

When's the right time?

Hi everyone! I'm currently building Gaia - AI tool that identifies at-risk customer segments and drafts personalized win-back messages. I wanted to launch on PH but was wondering when is the best time? Is it ever considered "too early"?

Do e-commerce brands care about personalized customer retention?

I've been building a lapse detection and personalized win-back tool for brick and mortar operations but I can't figure out if e-commerce brands care about personalized outreach and communication with their customer base.

Anyone running a e-commerce brand have any experience with this?

Built for the wrong ICP :(

I started building Gaia (getgaia.io) a customer retention tool for home businesses after hearing that their biggest challenge was marketing to find new customers. It helps home businesses get reorders and scale the personalized relationship with customers. Unfortunately I've learnt that my ICP either doesn't have the capacity to take on more business or is running the business as a side hustle and doesn't want to focus on revenue growth.

Anyone gone through something similar? How did you think about pivoting?
