What's this little cutie?

Got this at a local nursery. All the other plants had IDs on their pots, but this one didn't. The variegation on the leaves really drew me to it!

My big alocasia made seeds!

It's been blooming non-stop for months, but I saw this yesterday and was surprised that something actually pollinated one of the flowers. Any ideas on what would be attracted to alocasia flowers in SoCal? I collected the berries and have plans to try and germinate the seeds. I already popped a couple out and stuck them in the soil as an experiment.

The council gathers for early midnight snack

They all have designated spots where I put their square (a napkin) for their plates of food. Lydia (top right) chooses different locations, sometimes it's where she is in the pic, or sometimes it's in the living room. Sally and Jasper (tabby and tux) never want to change their eating locations, and they often have playful wrestling matches during food prep. Sometimes, Sally will be extra hangry and she'll go slap Jasper when he's on his own square and he'll look all offended lol

He's 13 lbs!

Jasper got weighed today and I was shocked at how much he's grown! Last weight taken he was 11.68 lbs. Last month he kept eating and sleeping a lot more, and every time he woke up he appeared bigger and taller. He's 11 months now, going on 12 months in August.

The council enjoying the shade of the fig tree in 90+ heat

They love chasing and catching fig eater beetles that visit the tree. 🪲

Anyone else have cats that are picky about meat that's not from the grocery store?

I have three cats, they all eat Viva. I also buy meaty bones and chicken necks from Hare Today, and they all love the rabbit from there. But recently I bought the chicken pieces from Hare Today, and only one of my cats will eat it! None of them have any issues with store-bought chicken, they actually will appear from nowhere just to have a little niblet of thigh or breast when I'm preparing it. But the chicken from Hare Today? My two girls are suspicious of it. The boy has no problem with it, he goes around to eat everyone's abandoned chicken scraps. But I find it so strange that my chicken-loving cat won't even touch the chicken from Hare Today. It doesn't smell bad, it smells like regular chicken! She'll eat the chicken necks and duck necks from Hare Today, but these pieces… I wonder if it's because chicken from the store has been more processed and "cleaned", and she's just used to that?
