If all black holes are singularities, what makes them ‘small’ or ‘massive’ or ‘supermassive’?

At singularity does any mass exist?

Is it inevitable that a black hole keeps going up in size over ‘time’ as it keeps gobbling up its surroundings? (I couldn’t help use ‘time’ in the sense we understand it, and I don’t know what time means to a black hole).

If it is all due to mass, isn’t there a limit for density? If not, what chemical element would the mass be?

If we were to get inside the event horizon would everything around us look bright or dark?

Received JIT request today

NHLBI, R01 applied June 2025 cycle, ESI 12th percentile; Council Review done on March 25.

Obviously they mentioned this is not a guarantee of award. I’m just crossing fingers. Wonder how long the NOA will take from this point, if approved for funding.

I understand that gravity is now explained as curvature of spacetime by mass. My question is WHY does mass curve spacetime? Is that an inevitable property? If so, how much are we as moving living masses contributing to it? If we were in space would we attract smaller objects to ourselves?

What about magnets? Do they curve spacetime even more?

I’ve had a MY for 6 months now. My other car is an old Honda Odyssey. Man, the lack of regen braking and need to stand in line for gas makes me feel like a peasant when I’m forced to use it…
