CEO of T-Mobile thinks the threat from Starlink has been exaggerated. He questioned the basic premise of the SpaceX pitch
Srini Gopalan, CEO of T-Mobile, said satellite connectivity will stay complementary to terrestrial networks. It will not replace them.
"You've got to ask the question of 'What is the gap in the market that they're looking to serve?’. Why would a customer buy a new cellular service? Where do they go? What's their differentiation? It's clearly not having a broad network."
Gopalan focused his pushback on capacity. One satellite covers a large area, and every user in that area shares the same bandwidth.
A satellite over a rural county might serve a few hundred people. Put that same satellite over a major city, and millions of people are competing for the same signal.
Cities need dense wireless infrastructure for this reason. Thousands of towers and small cells, each serving a small area, stack up to handle millions of simultaneous connections.
Gopalan's argument is that satellite technology serves a specific, narrow purpose. It fills dead zones where towers do not exist. It does not compete with what T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T offer in cities, suburbs, and most places where Americans spend most of their time.
He pointed to T-Mobile's T-Satellite service, which runs on Starlink. The service reaches rural areas and national parks where T-Mobile does not have towers. Gopalan said it has been useful, but usage came in lower than T-Mobile originally expected.

HSBC Started Covering SpaceX With a $115 Price Target 5, along with a conclusion that the price already reflects much of the company's long-
HSBC built its valuation as a sum of the parts, adding up what it believes SpaceX's businesses are worth. Then it did something unusual. It applied a 2x premium to account for CEO Elon Musk's track record of commercializing disruptive technologies. In other words, the bank built a 2x innovation premium into its sum-of-the-parts math, on the theory that Musk has repeatedly built industries where none existed.
Even with that premium, the answer came back at $115, along with a conclusion that the price already reflects much of the company's long-term growth potential -- including continued expansion of Starlink, rising launch activity, and the development of its artificial intelligence initiatives. The bank did sketch a friendlier picture. Its most optimistic scenario, which assumes the Starship rocket becomes commercially viable starting in 2027 and launch capacity doubles, values the stock at $293 per share. But that's the ceiling case, not the expectation.

Wanted to share a side of my ride I rarely get to see - an overhead shot of my Y - looks so mean and awesome - to me. Lol.
Just bought a used Tesla Gen 3 wall connector and only after installing it did I notice the cord is only 8 foot long. YouTube videos show much longer chords. What’s up with that?
My 2 year old 48A hardwire EVSE unit is reporting a CP FAULT error. Used to work fine. Issue started happening after the thunderstorm.
Is it junk now?
It shows CP fault, even when not plugged in.

is there a way for HUD to show tire pressure reading at other times. It’s so strange Toyota don’t offer that option
Tesla FSD Surprises Me … It Learned My Route After Feedback!
I had a surreal moment today.
In my town, there’s this bridge over a river, and they have added a third “truck lane” to help heavy vehicles climb. Usually, everyone stays in the left and center lanes, but the truck lane is often empty. So, two weeks ago, I let FSD take the wheel, and it stubbornly stuck to the center lane, even though the truck lane was wide open. I disengaged FSD and sent a voice message to Tesla to make FSD use the truck lane if it’s free.
Fast forward to today … I drove the same route, and FSD instinctively moved right into that truck lane and stayed there until the merge back sign! It felt like they heard me, adjusted, and now it’s behaving exactly how I hoped.
Anyone else have FSD adapt like this after a little feedback?

Tesla Driver Using Autopilot Crashes Into Home in Texas and Kills a Woman, Officials Say
nytimes.comHi-Res (IOS 27 Dev) lacks noticeable clarity compared to current cumbersome way (Nvidia Shield + sideloading AM for Android + Mouse Remote)
Both Nvidia Shield and Apple TV box are calibrated to output exact same dB level signal to Receiver (DAC processor). The front Speakers are full-range Magnepans with full ribbons driven by Class A monoblocks power amplifiers
Album: The Who - Tommy (24/96)
Streams from both boxes are correctly detected as 2-Ch 24/96 by processor.
The Apple Music stream on Apple TV is 6dB lower compared to on the Shield. Note: I have Netflix App on both devices and they output identical levels (confirms calibration).
Plus, the clarity of the instruments is inferior compared to what I hear from the Shield. Its almost like there is veil placed in front … this was even after volume was increased to be at the same level as from Shield.
This post is not to put down Apple TV or Apple Music. I love the gear. This is being posted in the hopes others can run the same test on this developer edition and provide feedback to Apple.
THANKS!!
One more reason to hate the lousy Toyota App - tried to make Service Appt at Dealer and it asks for current mileage which the App already has 🙄
Just as FSD disengagements allow for feedback, Tesla should offer an option to provide input when you accelerate while using FSD. Here is why …
… There are multiple occasions where FSD is unreasonably cautious when turning at a light or fails to recognize when the speed limit has increased. Alerting Tesla will hopefully improve the FSD experience
Hope my ask makes sense.
No true hi-res being output (IOS 27 Dev)
2 yr old Elite Pioneer receiver only seeing Atmos stream on all music. Was wanting bit accurate 24/96 or 24/192 signal.
Not Receiver’s fault. It can detect those signals fine from Nvidia Shield.
UPDATE
Thanks All 🙏 for suggesting the fix:
- There is setting under Device Settings > Apps > Music to turn off Atmos playback and switch Audio to Hi-Res 🍾🎉🎈
