Questions about youth basketball in the area

My son is currently in sixth grade looking to get into youth basketball. From what I can tell, there's two clubs locally, Hardwood Hoops (Hardwood Palace) and Hotshots Youth Basketball. The Yelp reviews on both clubs are less than stellar and many people complain about both facilities. Stuff like no AC, filthy restrooms, entry fees to get in?, etc.

Does anyone currently have a kid in either league? Do they really charge $15 per adult to watch your own kid play? How is the AC? We're looking at the summer league and no AC would be a hard pass. Anything else we should know about?

Are there any alternatives?
