Is anyone else on 20 units of nighttime insulin?

It just seems so high. I started off taking 7 units early in pregnancy as I’m type two and the doctor had me titrate up slowly as my fasting would creep up. I’m 32 weeks now and I think I have to increase to 22 units now because I’m waking up at 97 the last two days…

I’ve read that my insulin needs will soon decrease overtime after 36 weeks? When that does happen, should I worry because I read something about placenta insufficiency? I have twice weekly NSTs.

Rude daughter. A phase or a personality problem?

I’m eight months pregnant so I haven’t been the nicest or most attentive mom. My 7 yo daughter has been so rude despite having a pretty great summer full of swimming, family outings, and summer camp. Her entire personality is becoming so bitter and cold. Some examples:

If I tell her to pick up a wrapper that she didn’t leave, she will refuse and say it’s not my wrapper so I’m not gonna pick it up. Sometimes I pick it up and sometimes I yell at her and say pick it up because I asked you to and do your mother a favor.

If I tell her we’re gonna go visit grandma she’ll do the biggest sigh and say “well there goes my day now I’m going to be bored” and huffs and puffs the entire way there like I’m the most terrible person.

It’s a Saturday and i suggest to go grocery shopping… “I wanted to stay home not help you with your errands, can you just go with daddy”. She has such a high regard for her own time. Admittedly, I was similar, but it wasn’t this early. If we go to the grocery store on a Saturday, she’ll say her weekend is being ruined.

I ask her to help me with laundry sometimes, sometimes she does and sometimes she doesn’t - but if I didn’t wash her favorite pair of shorts, she’ll be like what have you been doing all day? Why didn’t you wash them? Now I have to wait another day before I can wear them.

Meanwhile, she has a very fun childhood?!? she has so many cousin play dates, we take her out for ice cream with her friends, she goes swimming in our HOA pool, the kid has a good life. But she acts like I’m just ruining it all the time?!?!?!

I don’t understand how I fostered such a personality because that’s not who I thought I was raising and being pregnant made me kind of bitter and rude to her this year. I’m trying to be polite and calm and have a mommy daughter day soon. She’s just so nasty in her nature?! I feel so ashamed.

Is my baby genuinely responding to my voice or am I crazy?

I’m almost 29 weeks. For past few weeks, I noticed if I’m talking to the room, he’s quiet. But when I talk to him in my mommy voice, kind of high-pitched, he starts to stir and wiggle and give me pretty big kick.

The last three mornings I woke up and was laying in bed in silence for 15 minutes waiting for some sort of movement or tap, but I felt nothing.. so I decided to just say “good morning baby!!! Are you awake in there?!” and instantaneously there’s a kick and then he starts to squirm and stir!! it’s almost as if he was waiting for me to wake up and talk.

I thought it was a coincidence, but it’s happened three days in a row that I have to start talking in the morning for him to start wiggling and moving!

MIL always expects a “gift” or wants to be included every single time I shop! Why?!?

For context, we live in the same town but not together. She acts as if my husband and I don’t “think” of her (despite gifting her for Mother’s Day and her birthday, and having her at my house at least twice a month for tea and going to hers twice a month as well)

If I place an order for myself on amazon for something that was on sale or I simply thought was cute, she will ask “oh, you should’ve gotten me one too” ….

We went out to the mall for some BABY shopping as I’m expecting and she calls my husband to ask what he’s up to and when we came back she asked “how was the mall? Did you pick me up something?” - no we did not.

We went out to eat with friends at a fun desi spot in NYC, and when we came back home “did you bring me back any mithai or samosas?” and then scoffs and shakes her head in disappointment.

She knows our whereabouts because she tracks all her children’s location (it’s been this way for years, husband doesn’t mind because it keeps his mom at ease emotionally) so we can’t go somewhere without out her feeling left out about it. Sometimes when she sees us driving on the highway she will call “where are you guys headed? Oh on the way back can you buy me or bring me XYZ”?

Husband always supports me and acknowledges she is needy and needs attention 24/7. He says we can ignore her comments and remarks to keep things stable but man it’s annoying! I think a lot of her discomfort stems from the fact that none of her children live with her and all moved out with their own families. Just her and her husband are alone in their home.

How bad are spikes to 170 if they come down very fast

My breakfast sandwhich this morning took me to 173 at the hour mark. But two hours later I’m 95…. This happens all the time. I’ll spike to 145-150 after dinner but I’m back in range sometimes even before the 2 hour mark. 27 weeks the spikes are getting worse so I’m meeting my team to increased my rapid insulin later.

I’m not fit by any means but would like to begin a healthy workout regimen now at 23 weeks

Fit mamas, plz help an unfit girl out. I tried some basic stretches today and my entire abdomen was sore. I was afraid I messed something up. My uterus was tight but eventually calmed down.

I’m 170lbs 23 weeks and lead a sedentary lifestyle, aside from walking what ways do you recommend I move my joints and pelvic area. And stretch.. thanks!

I just did some lunges for fun and well, sore.
I plan to use dumbbells for arm strength so I have stamina for post partum baby holding.

Anyone else with Type II diabetes? How high are you spiking after meals?

I’m still spiking to 155-175 depending on the meal. It’s really hard to stay under 140 at the 1 hour mark. By the 2 hour mark I’m usually back in range anywhere between 100-125. Currently on night time long acting insulin and metformin, rapid only for breakfast.

I use a CGM and fingerprick as needed.

MFM doc my glucose spikes are terrible, 22 weeks.

I thought I was doing OK because I was 88% in range and my spikes come down in 30 minutes, I thought it was not terrible. I’m 22 weeks and baby is measuring average size 50 percentile. I often have at least one spike a day (typically my breakfast or lunch) to 165-170.

I’m in range the rest of the day (under 140 with a baseline of around 100 and my fasting sugars are 85).

I’m just really upset that he thinks I’m doing a terrible job and maybe I truly am. It’s just very hard for me to have a large amount of protein in the morning. I love a warm breakfast so I cannot just eat cold goop Greek yogurt. I love a multigrain bagel or a toasted egg and cheese, or an omlette with potatoes.

It seems like all these doctors suggest Greek yogurt. I am not a Greek yogurt person. It’s gonna be a hard three months.

How many of u are cooking dinner every day

I just can’t keep up anymore. I’m 20 weeks and I don’t feel like doing anything. I already work a full-time job. I feel bad telling my husband n kid to have cereal or go get Taco Bell. I just can’t whip up meals all the time. Figuring out a protein every day is too difficult. We also don’t like repetitive meals so making the same thing over and over it’s just not for us.

I can’t feel movement yet, despite having a posterior placenta and this being my second pregnancy. I’m already overweight so any bump I may have developed is masked by my already existing belly fat. I’m just really sad. I don’t feel anything that reminds me he’s in there… when did you all feel pregnant?! And when to expect actual movement cuz I feel nothing.
