It’s June 30th. Important PSA.

If YEW 🫵🏽 have melanated skin then you need to be slathering yourself in some lotion. Unless you got some allergies or sumn then you do you idk

I personally use Palmers lotion, the new vanilla scent. I be smelling good all day long.

But sometimes I go outside with my friends and see their skin is crying for a sip of Jergens. I always carry a small bottle of lotion to help my people out.

Keep that skin hydrated, my friends.

Drop some lotion recs in the comments below.

Community Reminder

Alright, everyone. Gentle reminder time.

First, this post isn’t to call y’all out – we’ve already handled problematic users. Let’s just reiterate our policies.

Noir was built to be a safe space for those affected by racism in the kpop fandom. This is our space to post about our faves, vent about racism without hearing bUt ThEy ApOlOgIzEd, talk about real world issues, etc., with the absence of bigotry and invalidation.

Recent situations like Mark E. Lee, the slavery manhwa, and Handong from Dreamcatcher showing off her Natasha doll, have sparked discussion within the sub. And y’all, all I have to say is that I’m tired, and I know y’all tired as well. But to respect the Nature of the Subreddit, everyone needs to be mindful of their words in order to keep this community safe for everyone.

With these discussions, we’ll get comments from users calling other users self hating, spineless, disrespecting others’ races, etc. Comments and posts with content like this will be snuffed out; that ain’t what we do here. We can talk about kpop and racism without name calling.

As BIPOC we already get enough shit from the kpop. Let this be the one space where we can discuss issues in peace.

Appreciate y’all! Remember to report anything that breaks our rules.

Minute rice, canned green beans, and Sam’s club rotisserie chicken

Added some butter and salt to the rice; seasoned salt, garlic powder, and a little bit of butter to the green beans.

Should I tell my psychiatrist that I have high blood pressure?

For starters, I’ve been taking Effexor since January. I’m currently on 150mg.

I went to urgent care earlier today to get an unrelated injury checked out. They took my blood pressure and it’s 120/84.

Now I know Effexor can raise blood pressure, but I’m sure it’s mostly because I’m fat. I weigh 268 as a 5’5 woman thanks to my binge eating disorder. I have lost some weight thanks to me working with my therapist on this issue, but of course the weight isn’t doing to drop in one day.

Is it still worth telling my psychiatrist about the high blood pressure? I’m not sure if the medication is factor. I really think it’s mostly just my weight and eating habits. I really am trying to work on that front.

Haven’t played Pokémon since 2010. Here’s my team!

Pokopia got me back into Pokémon; decided to play Ultra Moon and all the other games I’ve missed.

This is my current team! I just made it to route 2 and recently caught a Makuhita.

Hi all,

I am a college sophomore taking my first 3000 level class for my history minor. My final paper is a historiography, 15-20 pages. My professor explained the concept in class, and I've talked to her during office hours, but I still cannot grasp how to write a historiography (she is pretty ramble-y...I've struggled to understand her all semester).

I was hoping someone here has experience with writing a historiography -- maybe in a class or for a capstone -- and can give me advice on writing one. I guess you could say I am a bit lost when it comes to formatting and stuff. I am hoping for a good grade on this final so I've been asking for help in different areas. Hopefully someone responds!

Thank you, everyone :)
