Pedicures?

Any good place in town that uses stainless steel bowls for pedicures and not those big, plastic, unsanitary chairs? Thanks!

Edit: Whomever downvoted me must own one of the places that uses the chairs 😂

Sun County Airline?

Flew into CWA last week, and there was a Sun Country jet at the airport. Anyone know if they going to start flying into CWA? I live out west and visit at least once a year. Sure would be handy to have another airline option!

Does your dentist give you pain meds?

I shattered a molar by, of all dumb-ass things, chewing an almond. Had to get it extracted today. I’ve been going to the same dentist for decades, and found out after the procedure that he doesn’t prescribe pain meds anymore. Wtf? When I had a root canal, he gave me a few for the first couple of days. Today? Nada. Fuck this hurts. 😱 Is this a new thing or just my dentist?

Ubers in Wausau?

Is it easy to call an Uber in Wausau? When I was last visiting, they seemed to be few and far between. Are there more now? Thanks!

“It’s Christmas” song…

Does anyone know why this song is featured prominently in so many Hallmark Christmas movies? I don’t care for it, so maybe that’s why I notice it.

Smells like Smokey The Bear farted…

Had to close the windows when my eyes started burning. Hope they get these under control quickly. Kinda nervous about the rest of the summer. Be safe and play smart!

Is there a pagan community in Wausau?

I’m going to be in town next month to visit family (I lived in Wausau when I was a kid), and I was wondering about the pagan community. I’ve been to a couple of cute shops, but I don’t know anything about the community as a whole. Thanks for any insight.

Is it just me or are the older Christmas movies better?

After watching several movies over the last week or so, I feel like the movies from 7+ years ago are just better - stories, acting, everything. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Is Hallmark+ worth it to you?

I signed up for a one week trial, but, due to a family emergency, I didn’t get a chance to watch a single thing. I’m considering signing up but thought I’d get the opinion of the hive mind. I noticed they run price discounts. Is it better to wait until one of those pops up? Thanks for your input!

Anybody close enough to see what’s going on?

Edit: Watch Duty notification said they’re making good progress.

Best local pilsners?

I rarely drink beer anymore, so could someone catch me up on some good locally brewed pilsners that I can buy at a store not a bar? Have company coming in who like a good pilsner and would like for them to try something local. Thanks!

THC beverages

Does anyone know what stores carry THC beverages around here?

Edit: Thanks for the responses. I was wary about the site that said Raley’s and Sprouts carried them. I appreciate the hive knowledge!

Heimlich Maneuver?

The husband and I were at a restaurant (not in Reno) with another couple. Someone in the restaurant started choking. My husband and one of our friends are both critical care nurses, and her husband and I know the Heimlich maneuver as well. Everyone else in the restaurant sat there looking like deer in the headlights. Fortunately, my husband and our friend took care of the man immediately, but it made me wonder, doesn’t anyone learn these things anymore?

Edit: Somebody downvoted this post? Guess that answers my question

Mahjong classes for absolute beginners?

My sisters live in a small town in central Wisconsin, and the local Y there offers free beginner Mahjong classes twice a month. Do we have anything like that here? I’ve looked but haven’t found anything. Thanks!

Why can I no longer get MLB and NBCBA?

Our bill had ballooned to almost $400/mo, and we called Spectrum, intending to leave, but were promised the same, exact plan if we stayed. It’s been a cluster to say the least. Half the channels we had are gone, and we don’t even get the same channels on different TVs in our house! And we get different channels yet on our mobile devices. Wth?

The only thing I care about at this point is getting my mom the MLB channel and NBCBA, so she can watch baseball. She’s almost 98 and a huge baseball fan. Please don’t suggest any apps. She has a difficult enough time working a simple cable box. She’s really sad, and it makes me very angry that you’ve screwed over elderly women with no other choices.

Edit: Here’s a new problem: Yesterday, HBO (not HBOMax) disappeared, and, today, Cinemax showed up. We’ve never had Cinemax and have always had HBOMax as a separate app.

For reasons I’m not allowed to mention here, we called Spectrum and were promised the same, exact plan if we stayed. It’s been a cluster to say the least. Still 80 degrees?

It’s past 1:30am, and it’s still 80 degrees outside? So much for the nightly cool downs we used to have 😞

Has anyone eaten at Cook’d?

I’m talking about the one on South Virginia and Huffaker. I think they have one in Minden as well. That particular building doesn’t seem to be very lucky for eating establishments. Thoughts?

Edit for grammar fart
