How is the convention experience for folks in their who attend solo in their 30s and 40s?

I'm 33 now and I've gone to AX twice in my early 20s. Right now getting the craving to go to other anime conventions but I'm worried about how the experience will differ as once gets older.

I do not have trouble socializing but the friends that I used to attend AX don't attend conventions anymore. Just don't want to feel out of place being slightly older than anyone else!

Do you guys keep to yourself? Do people make small talk with you despite being younger? Attend the panels or do you just prefer to walk around the con to take in the cosplay and the atmosphere? Do you cosplay?

Sharing games with a friend who lives somewhere else? Separate saves?

If I were to share my Nintendo Switch 2 games with a friend and let him log onto my account would our saves be separated and he can still play on his profile with the switch profile option when he boots up the game?

Keep in mind that we don't live close to each other anymore but I was wondering if there was a way to share my games to him.

For people who used the closed caption devices... How do they work and how reliable are they nowadays?

Was also curious if they work for all movie formats. Some movies just have poor audio mixing and it can be a problem with a specific theater too.

When do showtimes get updated for the week? Not trying to miss any movies since I'm new to A-List...

I noticed that not all theaters will show all the listings if you go past a week or two.

LG ‎27GS95QE used monitor for $350? Only has about 90 days of heavy use.

It's got 2k hours on it which totals out to 90 days of continuous use. This a good deal or should I keep an eye out for other used monitors? I don't want to pay more than $300-$400 ideally since OLED monitors seem to be overpriced in my opinion especially when they are new.

Will my book progress sync % wise between two Kobo devices if I borrow it from Libby/Overdrive?

I know that it doesn't sync your bookmarks or annotations but I'm wondering if it will sync at what page or % I am with the book.

Your account has limited access. Updated my email with a location spoofer app enabled on my phone which flagged it as suspicious activity. How long to wait for it take to get it fixed?

I had my location spoofer app enabled since I was using it for a game. I did manage to update my email address to a new one and I'm still logged into my discord accounts. The only thing I cannot do is add people or send any messages. My account is still in good standing but has limited access right now.

I created a ticket and Clyde the AI bot responded with

> Discord has temporarily limited your access to some features after detecting suspicious activity on your account. > > Please note that, at this time, we are unable to remove this limit. We recommend you go to User Settings > Devices to remove any devices that are unfamiliar or may be unauthorized logins. You will regain full access to your account within a couple of days.

This ticket is already marked as closed.

For anyone that got something similar did you only have to wait 72 hours or was it longer? Should I log out of my discord account and not use it all? I'm scared being logged in will lengthen the limited access punishment.

Replacing my smart watch with a jelly phone? Too heavy to put in pocket? How is the battery life if I only use it for audiobooks + podcasts and not as a phone?

I want to get a jelly phone primarily to take out with me when I'm out running outside. Smart watches tend to have poor durability from my experience. Battery goes to crap over a year or two and you're very limited in storage. I plan on downloading all my content ahead of time so I won't be using any roaming data on it.

However if I were to leave it in my pocket would it bounce around too much if I ran with it? I was wondering if it was too heavy or bulky. I don't plan on using it as a phone and plan to use it primarily as a media device to take with me when I'm running outside.

Your favorite zombie books and series?

Give me only the cream of the crop or hidden gems that you guys have read. The only ones I've managed to read so far is World War Z and I'm currently reading Mountain Man by Keith C. Blackmore

No need to renew library card in person @ Southern California if I check out ebooks often digitally?

Was wondering what the policy is around the Los Angeles area? Anyone know? I first signed up for this library card in April 2024.

How can I check which ebooks are stored on my Kobo but don’t have a copy on my PC while it’s connected?

Mostly asking because I've imported some books on my Kobo through google drive and I never imported them locally to my Calibre library on my PC.

I know you can just import the recent three books but is there any easier way to control what books appear on that section? I want to keep the same 3 books on there if possible but I import books pretty frequently so they always overwrite the 3 books that I want on there.

I already have a Kobo Libra Colour mostly for ebooks and some manga consumption but I was wondering if the experience of reading manga on a larger e-reader is enhanced or just overrated?

I've heard that android e-readers are a must for manga but I'm worried about the performance for when it comes to navigating android. I thought about sideloading apps like Mihon but I'm worried that downloading manga or navigating apps like that are a slow/mediocre experience because I'm not sure e-reader chipsets would bode well for using android. Are there any 8 - 10 inch e-readers out there that include at least 32GB storage or at least external micro-sd card support?

Really my only prerequisites is for it to be colored and to have at least 32GB storage or have a microsd card slot. Does not have to be android based as I am fine with sideloading manga.

I know you can check for series gaps but it doesn't seem to check if there's a new book in the series that released to show you don't have it in your library.

Is the silent click mode that quiet? Let's say you brought a laptop to a library and used the mouse would it still annoy anyone next to you or is it that quiet?

This is coming from someone that uses silent switches on their mice and I'm wondering if the Superstrike is just as quiet or still louder. Huano Silent switches are the ones I'm currently using.
