Is Jac making a legitimate run at .300?

We don’t have much of anything else to keep our baseball juices flowing for the Royals so I’m going to hope for a .300 BA for Jac.

He will have in the neighborhood of 120 ABs to finish out the season for a total of 545 ABs so will need 164 base hits.

Currently sits at 118 hits so he will need to go 46 for 120 (.384 BA) for the rest of the season to hit .300.

Wow…. Yeah never mind. That is a pipe dream.

Ok what else can we talk about? Haha.

Sold a card to Cags. Cool experience.

I pulled one of his Ultra Violets from 2026 Topps Chrome the other day. He happened to be in town to play the Twins. Worked out a deal with him for the card. Got some cash, tickets to the game tonight, batting practice passes, a signed bat and ball for my son, and got to surprise my 5 year old with all of it. He loved it. He was super excited and wanted to keep talking to Cags. Cool dude.

Just wanted to share a cool story about a pro who also happens to be a card collector. And was able to turn it into an experience my son and I will remember for a lifetime.

Trying to learn a bit more about this revolver…

Belonged to my grandpa who has been gone for about 25 years. My aunt gave it to me last weekend as she’s getting up there in years now too. It most likely hasn’t been fired in 50 or 60 years and for all I know has been in the box since he bought it.

My dad thinks he probably bought it in 1930’s but that’s about all he knew. Said he didn’t even know his dad had it until he was gone.

Anyway… thought maybe someone might get a kick out of it with the box and app.

Mail day.. Picked up in a trade.

Still want the 2022 SC chrome image variation but this one was on my must have list as well. Print run of 92.

Might be my favorite Bobby card…

Had a good mail day yesterday. I wish I could take pics of refractors that didn’t turn them into ridiculous color splashes but oh well….

Security attempted room entry at 1am.

My wife is traveling for work and staying alone at a Hilton property and at just after 1am was awakened by someone attempting to force themselves into the room. She luckily had the latch flipped. The man began banging on the door. She yelled some obscenities at him and rushed the door to slam it shut. The man stood outside the door for a few minutes and she could hear him but not sure what he was saying.

She immediately called the front desk and there was no answer. She called the emergency line and it directed her to 911 but she is in a large city and figured that was not going to do much good so kept trying the front desk.

While doing so she called me and while we were on the phone the front desk called back up and told her it was security checking to see if someone was in the room.

I’m calling bullcrap on this and not entirely sure it wasn’t the same person who tried to enter that called from the front desk. Why not just call to check and why then hell do you do this at 1am?

She is mortified and has to stay there tonight. I’ve suggested she ask for a different room and make a major stink with management.

Is this at all normal for a Hilton let alone any hotel? What do you guys recommend we do?

Update: she reported it to the front desk this morning and they seemed mortified. The GM is supposed to arrive at 0945 and call her.

Another update: 12:58 PST.- still no call from the gm at the hotel. She did send me a screenshot from front desk last night. I’ll try to post it in here.

FINAL UPDATE:

This all makes more sense now. So she talked to the GM. Here is what went down

Wife checked in for her room on the app but showed up earlier than check in time and the room wasn’t available so she just took whatever was available. This lead to them not knowing exactly what room she was in.

They were attempting to see if room was available. They said they called three times and she did not answer. The staff member didn’t think anyone was in there when he opened and hit the latch flip deal.

So apparently it was just a misunderstanding and she slept thru the phone calls.

I still don’t know why a hotel would call and wake a guest up after midnight to check on a room but at least it wasn’t a creeper. They are giving her points but she’s normally Marriott anyway so doubt she uses them.

Anyone ever have and update lock up (Xbox) and…

When you cancel update to start over it immediately wipes the game off your system? This cloud backup had better work or I’m done done. If I’ve lost almost a full season of franchise after playing every game I’m out. Haha

Picked up one of my all time favorite cards…

It’s out of /2016. If I could find 1738/2016 I would explode in my pants. Anyway. Headed off to PSA to slab up for the PC for sure. Love it.

It’s up for auction on eBay. No photo of back of card. Listed as “Bobby Witt Jr rookie autograph” but it’s a replica if you zoom in. This guys is pulling some BS right?
