Bought a USB cdrom to finally look at my archives from like 2001!

I'm pretty excited man. My cd's have been on their coaster for freaking years man, years!

I'm wondering if I still have a copy of death trap dungeon. I recall that being one of my firsts...

Now to figure out.. do I need dosbox to use them? Or like emulate windows 98? Maybe something with xp on it?

Dumb question; can you fully diagnose a car by it's trouble codes these days?

So.. I'm having transmission problems. It's some dual clutch thing for a hybrid the code pops up as.

I'm just wondering since these codes are there for a reason, I'm feeling like the dealership(no one works on hybrids besides dealers-ish?) should be able to(since the dealer IS Kia and nation wide) have in their little database that if this code pops, it's usually these things and maybe this thing. Like they should be able to give a fairly accurate quote?

Not like dig in, open up and find more stuff wrong since no other codes, just the one code came up.

Is this accurate or is my thinking wrong?

Any reputable shops work on hybrid cars besides dealers?

As title asks. Anyone around besides dealers that work on hybrid transmissions etc?

Going to put sick leave in for 2 days for helping my mom.. note needed?

I have heard of they all for a note you can give them a hand written note from yourself saying whatever the appointment is. Like an oxygen testing lab for two days.

Is this actually true? Is this backed up anywhere or kind of manager to manager?

ok... honest question.. how do you get the motivation to want to?

long story short but I don't know if I'm struggling with some kind of depression but I think I'm struggling with just 'the want to' of working on the various things and projects I have had laying around?

I think, and feel, that having the pictures like printed out so I can look at them helps motivate me to be like, man, it'd be cool if I made that, or man, I do want to still make that.. But without them in my face I don't have a feeling of needing or wanting to. Like I work on things that *need* to be worked on but when it comes to personal projects I'm just kind of so-so..

So maybe if anyone has advice on how to get some juices flowing and skip the PC, scrolling or TV time and jump to the shop time, I am all ears...

"COVER IS NOT THE CORRECT SPECIFICATIONS" - what am i doing wrong??

I am using their built in web based creator. Upload the pdf, place the cover image in the box. I have messed around and messed around and I *think* your not supposed to have anything in or past the red areas in the template builder? I used to fill the whole thing, error error. This last one I filled(I did learn holding the shift key lets me stretch and transform the image out of square, the entire area and nothing in the red.

I still get this error about "COVER LAYOUT SUBMITTED IS NOT BUILT TO THE CORRECT SPECIFICATIONS" - I did check the boxes that I am ok with any rgd/cmyk corror errors, honestly I just want to get the proof and see how it prints.

My next step is to go use their legitimate template from https://myaccount.lightningsource.com/Portal/Tools/CoverTemplateGenerator but that doesn't ask for page count, which is 308, so the spines not small.

But what am I doing wrong here man? I'm using their own builder and just getting the same error...

Trying to game in living room from pc in other room.. latency issues... ??

Maybe I just need to buy better stuff but I'm trying to game on my living room tv from pc like 25 feet away. On the other side of one wood wall.

Pc, I forget processor speed but 5060 with 16gb ram. It runs things fine on the TV. The problem comes down to the latency of the controllers and wireless things i have. Keyboard does ok. Mouse is ass. I've used it on my mouse pad from my desk, jeans, blanket, mirror, plastic and books, nothing will read consistent movement so mouse is dead, but sub as i go in the pc room, it's good again. I have an 8bit do Bluetooth controller that does work but the latency is like a full half second off so there's a half second lag in the controls.

I do run like a 40 foot hdmi cable but again, it's been the controllers being the issue. I did upgrade my pc to the new one I got now so I think that solved that hdmi cable being slow.

Looking for any advice/suggestions.

Side table... any tips?

This is technically my second side table. I got the design from another post about using the dowels. I used screws on the other and that one turned out good, imho.

This one... I want to add rails to the top to add support and still need to attach the bottom shelf. Hopefully those two things will make it more stable. It's not bad for a between the stove and fridge table but not 100% sound.

The doweling was kind of rough. The second dowel split and wedged in and I had to snap it off and drill it out. The rest I filed out a hair and 80 grit around the dowels a bit and wood glue. Not ideal. Didn't plan for that, but it's what it is.

Any tips?

The one question i had though, even on the other project, they used dowels. But on the top corners, I have one going down and one going in. I had to drill through the one going in the side with the one going in the top. How do people usually handle this? It's only 2x2's so there's no real room to offset. It got me wondering during build phase.

Looking to try ttrpg? Come check out Shadowdark @ Dork Den!

Day: The 4th Wednesday of each month(This coming Wed, the 24th)

Time: 6:30pm until 8:30ish

Where: Dork Den, in the side room with all the tables. There should be a placard on the table or just ask around.

Who: So far theres a DM and 2 players.

What is Shadowdark: Its just a rules light type of table top rpg in the vein of DnD but has less mechanics and just shuffles things around to make it stand out and kind of be more beginner friendly. Theres a thing called OSR(old school renaissance) that a number of games are trying to bring back the vibe of 'old school' gaming like 1st edition, etc.

So far, our little band of explorer's have run across some people covered in slime during one of our first foray's into the woods to find something and now we are on a mission to find where these people covered in slime are coming from and what nefarious ends are these beings up to and how can we, the adventurer's, put and end to this corruption of the land. Last session we literally just found the keep that we think these "people" are coming from/hiding out in and this coming session we need to figure out a way in, with or without heads rolling.

If you think your interested but hesitant because you don't have any xp playing these types of games but feel an itch to come check it out.. Come check it out. There are no requirements. The table will have everything you need, it just needs your butt in the seat to play and we can all take it from there. Its a pretty laid back little group. We do kind of do a PR friendly game though, so no questionable hard stuff.

We hope to see you there.

PS - There are 2, maybe 3, open chairs. I forget what the limit there is.

FMLA denied because it was not 3 consecutive days? Appeal process?

I called in for one day of a flare up of my back and have seen the chiropractor since. Got the FMLA forms, he filled them out, I submitted. NOTE: He did not fill out the last part about it being chronic or anything about how often and how many days I would need off due to flare ups...

So I got the letter back from FMLA saying its been "Disapproved due to incapacity not being more than 3 full consecutive calendar days."

It doesn't say anything about needing additional info and no boxes checked about incomplete forms. It seems to be denied because I didn't call in for 3 days.

Now, I'm no professional but this seems a bit BS? I am going to call them and see what they have to say but I don't see anything about an appeal process or maybe I need to have the chiro fill the bit out about how often flare ups and how much time off will be needed per flare up(he seemed pretty iffy on doing that bit for me(he says I need to be on a treatment schedule, and thats fine with me but it was kind of *a thing* to talk to him about it)...

So I'm wondering how to move forward here and looking for any suggestions as this doesn't feel right to me that I would *need* to call in for 3 days for this to be registered..
