WWYD?

I have a coworker who is a traveler and is renting via FF. I'm also currently using FF. This traveler and I were talking about where she was renting and who she was renting from. Fast forward to last night at work and I'm talking to another coworker about weird landlord experiences and he shares a story of his friend who thinks their being defrauded by their landlord and upon further investigation, found out this particular landlord had been charged with some pretty bad stuff and has a very rich history of fraud. Coworker and I start talking about the location of this friend's rental (near where our traveler is renting) and who the landlords are and what they do for work. And I'm fairly certain these are the same landlords.

Would you tell the traveler?
And how is there not a background check for landlords on FF?!!

LinkedIn header - to include BS & MS in nonrelated field

I’m have a BS and MS in a non medical field (poli sci) from my previous life before RT. Would you add these degrees after your name on LI even though they are not RT? It feels weird.

HOLY SH*T IT WORKED!!! IT WORKED!!!!

I recently posted about "desperate times desperate measures" where I decided to manually upload my IBR request directly to the MOHELA website. I have been trying to get out of SAVE and back into IBR since Oct 2024 applying online thru the FSA site. I have submitted multiple requests over the last 20 months. Yes, 20 months. And nothing. I wrote my senators, rep, AG. I called MOHELA and FSA and NOTHING. A BIG FAT NOTHING.

Well, in a fit of desperation, I decided to print out the app, fill it out by hand, PDF it, and upload it to MOHELA via their website on on 6/26/2026 and no joke, they literally processed it the same day and on 6/26/26 I received notice that I'm officially back in the IBR. Like wtf. Hot damn, I've never been so happy to pay a bill lol.

Now just 8 more months and then I can request PSLF buyback.

Not a big reader but need a book that's feel good to help me unwind

I work nights in the NICU. I need a book that's "feel good" to read when I crawl into bed after a long nightshift.

The last two of 3 books I picked up were Parable of the Sower and The Librarian of Auschwitz. While I've heard both are excellent books (which is why I picked them up), I don't think they're a good fit after a heavy and stressful night taking care of sick babies lol. I think I really need something light, thoughtful, and inspiring or about awe and wonder. Help.

My problem is I'm not a good reader. Classic ADHD here in that the book has to be super duper good to me for me to actually finish it. I like historical fiction. Or sciencey stuff. But wiling to branch out.

Just wondering what you all are reading out there that's not depressing or about the worst of humanity lol.

Desperate times, desperate measures

I have been trying to get out of SAVE and back into IBR since Oct 2024. I’ve submitted multiple requests online since then. I’ve called MOHELA. I’ve written my senators, rep, and attorney general. MOHELA says everything is fine and I “just have to wait”. Ma’am I’ve been waiting 4 to 6+ months to have my request processed. FSA tells my US Rep via canned AI response that I’m selecting SAVE on my request. Ummm how is that possible?! I call FSA and rep #1 says the same thing. I push back asking how that’s possible. She puts me on hold and then conveniently hangs up on me. This is after being on hold for 20 mins and then going round and round for another 20 mins. So effin annoying. Call back and get 2nd FSA rep and he’s wondering the same thing I am: how is it a possible to pick a plan that doesn’t even exist and isn’t an option on the app. He suggested I fill out a paper app and manually upload it directly to MOHELA.

So I did tonight. I don’t know what else to do here.

God I hope this works. I’m so exhausted and just want to get back on IBR and make payments. This is absolute insanity and criminality.

Anyone have any success submitting a hard copy via manual upload to MOHELA?

Immigrants of Tacoma!! Do you have a go to restaurant in Tacoma or area that serves food that tastes like "home"? Please share the good word:)

This idea was taken from a AskSeattle post and loved it so thought I'd copy pasta for us Tacoma dwellers and surrounding communities to find the good eats.

Where do you go when you want to taste food that feels like wherever you grew up or your parents grew up and reminds you of your yaya or nona or dadi or abuela. Feel free to share specific dishes that really hit home at your favorite restaurant!!

Looking for a new dentist. Bonus points if they're in the north-ish end.

I can't stand my current dentist for many reasons and after today's visit, I'm done.

So give me some recs. What I like:

  1. A dentist who includes you in the conversation about your teeth and doesn't talk to the hygienist like you're not there.
  2. A dentist who doesn't use big dentist words and breaks down what you need to do to keep your teeth healthy.
  3. A dentist who believes you after they tell you, you have two new "watch spots" and you (clearly stressed) tell them you floss/brush 2xday and you just don't know what else to do. And their response: "well I'll take your word for it".
  4. A dentist who actually looks up the meds you're on and how they affect your teeth and doesn't tell you to ask your doc if you can stop taking them. The med is for cancer - which made for a very awkward moment...for them. I enjoyed every second of it.

I could keep going, but really, I just need someone who is good at their job and isn't a pretentious a$$hole. Is that asking too much? Super duper bonus points if it's dentist/locally owned and not owned by some private equity bullshit. Which might be asking too much lol.

DO TELL: Your favorite spot at Fenway for a concert?!

Looking at tix for Fenway. Never been for Phish but went for Dead and Co and made the mistake of buying seats deep into the Grandstand sec. It was so effin hot that we were prob in those seats for like 5 mins before we bailed. Didn't even sit in the seats and instead just hung out on some concourse up by the Truly Terrace.

So I don't want to make that mistake again lol.

So do tell: best spot to watch The Phish From Vermont.

Anyone successfully uploaded IBR app to MOHELA and NOT hit an error message?

Long story short: I've been driven to submit my IBR app directly to MOHELA by uploading as a completed PDF form. Every time I try to upload, I get an error message and it kicks me out of the site.

Anyone actually successfully uploaded the IBR app to MOHELA? I've compressed it to <5mb. I've used Safari and Chrome. Safari let me upload my tax return, but not the app. In chrome, neither worked. Not sure what the issue is. Thoughts? Every roadblock I hit with this company feels purposeful. Like they're making this difficult on purpose. F*ckers.

Need Advice: I'm at peak frustration trying to get out of SAVE and into IBR

I have been trying to get out of SAVE and back into IBR for 19 months now. I have submitted 5 requests in that time.

I called MOHELA a couple of weeks ago and asked them what was going on. Is there something wrong with my app. Their response was no. It looks fine. I was told there is a 90 day processing delay. I waited 8 months between my 1st request and my 2nd. As of this month, I've been waiting a total of 19 months.

I reached out to my congresswoman, both senators, and my state's AG. The only one who got back to me was my rep. They in turn reached out to ED and the ED responded with this:

^(Review of NSLDS, shows that she submitted IDR applications on 10/29/2024, 06/18/2025, 08/12/2025, 10/07/2025 and 03/30/2026 – please note that every time she submits a new application, it closes the previously submitted one. Her application for a new IDR plan that was submitted on 03/30/2026 is pending review.)

^(However, it does indicate she wants to enroll into SAVE, which is preventing it from processing –)

^(She should re-submit the IDR application and ensure she does not select that she wants to stay in SAVE. Christina can use the Repayment Calculator to select a plan that meets her repayment goals. Once she determines what plan she would like to enroll in, she can apply for an IDR plan online or submit a paper form. Most people complete the online application in 10 minutes or less. The application allows a borrower to select an IDR plan by name or request that their loan servicer place them on the plan that will give them the lowest monthly payment amount.)

^(1) EVERY APP I'VE SUBMITTED I'VE SELECTED IBR. You can't even select SAVE. It's not even an option. WTAF.
^(2) They're telling me to resubmit while simultaneously telling me I need to stop resubmitting.)

^(3) If they actually looked at my NSLDS data they would see that every app was submitted electronically.)

Please someone help me here. Has anyone submitted a literal paper application by fax? I have less than a year until I can submit for PSLF and I want to get back into IBR to get this ball rolling. I'm so tired of this sh*t.

I've made four requests since October 2024 to get moved out of SAVE and back into IBR with 6 months pretty much between each request. I called today and asked if there is something wrong with my requests. Am I checking the wrong box? Is it that I have that one FFEL loan that is not in SAVE...is that screwing something up? Is it because my tax info isn't linking?

Nope. Nothing is wrong. Like a robot, the lady said it's taking 90 days to process these requests. And that everytime I submit one, it starts it over and to not submit another.

Girl, I'm waiting 6 months before submitting. Like WTF. 6 MONTHS!

I'm writing the WA state AG today. And my reps and my senators.

I wanted to volunteer at our local humane society. Is it normal to sign a waiver releasing the organization from liability if you are injured due to animal bites or falls on wet floors etc?

I have some hesitation signing off on the handbook that included this waiver. Does this actually hold water in the event there is a dog attack?

I ask because i already had some reservation
and then I read there was an incident where a dog was brought to a HS booth at a local event. The dog attacked another dog and killed it. In trying to separate them, the volunteer was hurt.

I think in signing a waiver, there is an element of trust that the higher ups won’t put you in a dangerous situation. Yes, I recognize animals are animals and stressed animals do unpredictable things. But it seems like insanely bad decision making on the part of people running this organization to allow this dog at a community event. It def seems like the behavioral assessment wasn’t done.

So my question is: is it normal to sign a waiver for the humane society? Would you do it?

Posted a raincoat and received an email in my private account asking if it's still available? No contact via poshmark. I replied yes. Then they replied they made an offer and included a "poshmark.com" link. I went to my poshmark account and see zero offers from a potential buyer. Is this some kind of scam or am I doing poshmark wrong? And no, I did not click that link.

And is via personal email really how we communicate with potential buyer/seller vs message thru website?

Which is better to submit to get the lowest monthly payment for IBR: tax data or pay stub.

I have been trying to get off SAVE and back onto IBR for over a year(but that's another story). With the most recent request, I used a paystub because I had been on medical leave for a few weeks and it showed only my base pay. I work in healthcare. I get shift differential for night shift, if I'm lead, and when I work weekends, as well as OT pay. So my last years tax return will show higher than what my actual base pay is. But I've heard they calculate higher off paystubs. At the very least, it doesn't seem right to include OT pay as part of the calc.

In the past, I've used tax data because of all the xtra pay on top of my base. But I'm thinking this is mistake to figure out the lowest payment possible.

And if I submit pay stubs, is it just the most recent? Or do I have to submit for several pay periods?
