What are some of your favorite easter eggs from the series long history? Do any stand out as particularly memorable?
For me, it’s the fact that most of the missions in Rogue are named after Rush songs, and one is named after a Rush album. I’m a huge fan of that band, I couldn’t believe it the first time I played it through over a decade ago.
What about you?
I just want Carter and Knight to succeed so badly so that we can say the power of friendship powers all sides of the ball on our team. I see why the team staff fell in love with both these guys from the personality side. Now they just need to make it happen on the field. I hope they can.
Well, that was a delightful UFL season. To me, the best spring football season yet, and first after which I didn’t think “yeah… maybe this is not coming back next year.” Needless to say, in my opinion the vibes are great.
I am curious to hear what sort of things we think the league should try for next year? No matter how realistic or unrealistic, what should its goals be?
For me, I think it would be really good if the league can get most, if not all, venues open for two playoff games. They obviously won’t all actually play out, but I think the league can’t have another Orlando situation, even if that one was four years in the making. Further, I think the league would do well to secure all eight (radical, perhaps, I know) venues to potentially host the United Bowl. Seeing DC show up how they did, even after a down regular season for attendance, was insanely great for the league. It was much better than St. Louis’ two tries hosting when the team wasn’t in the game, obviously. Neutral sites should probably go away, in my opinion, until (if ever) the league is big enough that significant numbers will travel.
In addition, I think next season would be a good time to get teams in their cities. I know, I know, that’s expensive, and perhaps it is untenable right now. But, if there’s a possibility to do it, I think they have to try. Louisville is desperate to embrace the kings. I can’t help but think they’d get an even better response if the team spent more time in the city.
Anyway, this was longer than I intended it to be. What do you guys think the league should strive for in 2027?
It has bothered me for the twenty years of my Rush fandom that Geddy pronounced "Barchetta" with an English "ch" sound. From the recording all the way to R40, there he was, saying "Barchetta" with a "Chuh" sound. But, lo, and behold! I listened back to night 3's full MP set, and there it was! "Barchetta," with a "cuh," pronounced with the hard C sound that the original Italian demands! Finally, a multidecade injustice upon the Italian language and Ferrari itself has been rectified.
Unrelated, is any one else sad there's not another show for a few days? I quite enjoyed all the setlist and show discussion we got every other day last week. And no, I’m not bored at work, why do you ask?
Yesterday I posted about them playing anthem tuned down a whole step, which makes the song even heavier. But listening back today I realized that not only do they play it down a whole step, Geddy plays the intro riff down a whole octave from where it would normally be played, making the track EVEN HEAVIER again!
It’s fun to hear subtle changes coming from members old and new.
Edit: apparently he’s been playing it this way since R30!
Listened back to Anthem from night 2, and they played it a full step down, as they do 2112 since 1997 and Circumstances back on Snakes And Arrows. Can't recall if they played it downtuned in 2015, but the version from the other night takes the already heavy intro and makes it INSANE. I believe its Rick Beato who says that riff invented progressive metal... yeah, it did.

Just found out about these. Ted Karras, the Bengals’ center, runs a foundation selling “the Cincy hat,” with the proceeds going toward affordable housing for the disabled. They’re pretty popular in Bengals circles. Now I find out they did a Lousville version too! Would be cool to see one in the Kings’ colorway.
