Constantly worried I’m going to kill him

Ok my post is a little dramatic but I am genuinely always a little worried I am going to kill him running in the heat. I haven’t been taking him more than 2 miles and I bring a water bottle to offer him water + keep him damp with cool water. We also do 95% of our runs on trails right now where he can dip his toes in the water. I love taking him and I know he has so much fun, but I am SO paranoid he will get heat stroke 😢

Little bestie needs a dental

my bb girl got the news she will need a dental to see if she has tooth resorption going on. she lost one of her little dot teeth and the vet is suspicious it is a fracture. I know she will adapt well to having some teeth pulled but it’s a bummer for such a perfect SIC

Just watched someone get attacked by a dog

I am not quite sure what to do, I just watched a man get jumped on and bit by a giant St. Bernard. the woman was carrying a cup of coffee in 1 hand and the leash with 2 dogs in the other hand.

The man was walking past her on the sidewalk and the St. Bernard jumped up on him and bit him. He screamed at her and then walked away. I tried to follow him to see if he was okay, but he got several blocks away from me. I do not even know if there’s anything I can do in the situation. I’m disgusted by the woman though who walked with 2 dogs without being able to appropriately control them. I really hope the man is okay. Is there anything I can do?

Edit: Thank you to everyone for the feedback. I was able to connect with the person who was bit because of this post. He is okay and luckily the bite did not break skin. He knows how to contact me if he decides he needs my assistance in this.

Seeing old weeks?

new here! is there any way to see what week we are on, or see workouts for old weeks? I feel weird to have just jumped into my team without knowing what has come before in this series or how long it is.

Indoor Rooms with Outdoor Portion Inso Wanted!

I'm preplanning my July POTM room for the Black Bear and I kinda want to finally use my bee wallpaper BUT I also want to do a little outdoor spot in order to use the pet special item in the room + do a little cute camp area. How do you all do indoor rooms with a little outdoor component? I am bummed that the patch doesn't go low to cover the flooring. I don't like it looks like a rug or something in the room. Need inspo from the creatives!!!

Medial Malleolus broke in my youth at some point. Now I’m cursed with ossicles

u/ylimenut — 2 months ago

Unsure what to do.

hey all! so at some point in my life I broke my ankle, probably assuming it was just a sprain. as a result, I now have 2 ossicles (8mm and 3mm) from my medial malleolus embedded in my adjacent ligaments.

These Xrays/MRIs screens are from 2019 when I was a collegiate athlete with persistent ankle sprains. Basically, because of the ossicles being present, I do have a forever ankle sprain.

Fast forward to now and I’ve run a marathon successfully + engaged in other long distance running without too much of an issue. Recently though I’ve decided to up the intensity of my activity and this has begun to flair up. I played a pick up game today of my sport and I am in extreme pain like I fully twisted my ankle, but I know it’s just the ossicles.

I don’t want to stop ramping up my activity and I’m only 27 but have been dealing with this ankle pain for years now. I’m considering going to an ortho now for another opinion. I was told the first time my options were surgery to remove the ossicles or strengthening PT. I have now had a wrist ORIF surgery due to a car accident, and I have long term concerns about leaving the ossicles in there after conversations about that. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Show me your greenhouses/gardens!

I am trying to figure out a way that makes me happy to display all the fun new potted plants + seeds. I decide to spring for the greenhouse from the wish factory (I hoard tokens so this was kinda fun to do today!!) but now I need some inspo to display everything!

Obsessed with Scrapbooking

I am loving field notes for making mini scrapbooks of my trips. I just recently went to Acadia and printed out wallet sized photos of my adventures to fill this up with. I just bought a bunch of Etsy stickers and a bunch more field notes to fill. I’m going to use them to junk journal everyday, to scrapbook trips, and make tiny photo albums.

maybe not the standard use so thought I’d put it out into the world!!

First ever In!

decided to junk journal with the notebooks. they are perfect for on the go trash collection :) I hope anyways! I’m filling the Chicago (Pittsburgh‘d with my I Voted N’at sticker) while I wait for my Acadia to arrive to put photos in from my recent trip.

Taking my chicken nugget to his second national park in a few weeks, Acadia. Pics from his first trip, Cuyahoga in Ohio!

I am feeling a little anxious to take him for a more strenuous set of hikes. He is very in shape physically and enjoys running. My bigger worry is being able to help him with injury in the very VERY edge scenario something were to happen.

I have ordered the Fido pro I will plan to bring for true emergency rescue. I want to pack an emergency first aide kit too. What should I prioritize in my pack? I feel a little lost.
