Questions

I've seen a lot of talk of seeing vascular/ vein specialists for lipedema. Are those the same doctors who deal with vascular compressions? Does anyone know if you have lipedema, if you're more likely to have other vascular issues like vascular compressions?

What are we doing to defurr our legs?

If my legs are hairy, my compressions pull on the hairs and make the nerves too angry/ painful to be able to tolerate wearing the compressions.

If I shave, I think it exfoliates too far down and my nerves are on fire for days (yes i use shaving cream).

I tried waxing recently and my skin was too sensitive (maybe weak?) to tolerate it and it be effective.

I've been using veet cream (or nair) hair removal cream for the past few years. I'll split it into a few days, like 1 day do my shins, day 2 I'll do a thigh, day 3 the other thigh because you wait x amount of time then need to scrape/ scrub it off before it dries and before it burns. - Now, my skin gets so reactiony to scraping it off with a plastic tool and I am at my wits end.

Is it time to do permanent lazer hair removal? Has anyone done this? Anyone have this dilemma?

Edit: Should I try electric shaving it? I've seen the multihead circle type electric razors. I've seen those fine sand paper esque things. Should I try a normal electric razor with a short guard? Based on how I reacted to the waxing, I don't think an epilator is a good choice though.

Has anyone else gone through pelvic floor therapy for chronic constipation?

I did my 1st secession of biofeedback a few hours ago and just had the only normal stool I've probably ever had in my life and without pain.

Biofeedback was this buttplug with metal plates built in on 2 sides. It does its lil taze at whatever strength it's set to and then alternates on/ off. It was ~15mins of this, not painful, just very weird sensations. Then maybe 30mins later, my body actually told me to go for a BM. And omg guys. Litterally I wish I had been reffered to pelvic floorv therapy when I first went to a Gastroenterologist like 5yrs ago. Why on earth did they stop at ibs-c back then and why wasn't this a first course of treatment!!!!? Like, literally why did they try ppi's before this!!!???? I just wanted to share because I had no idea this existed. Also, being constipated makes me more nauseous. Let me say, it's very weird being more empty right now. Ok, rant over.

Hey guys,

I'm just venting. It feels like a major loss. When I hit a 5 or 10lb loss, it just feels especially big on my heart that this condition is shrinking me. I officially weigh less than I did in 5th grade. (I was super athletic so I had a lot of muscle weight and a lil tubby from puberty kicking in 150lbs.) I've been teetering just about 150lbs for the past month, but now, I'm under it and it just feels really emotionally heavy, like I've lost myself I guess. Maybe it feels like I'm losing who I've grown into over that time?

How are yall coping when you lose weight from this disease?
