Am I wrong to be pissed about the ticket even on the Hawthorne bridge for firework viewing?

Am I wrong to be pissed about the ticket even on the Hawthorne bridge for firework viewing?

Every year I watch the fireworks for July 4th from the Hawthorne bridge. Much to my surprise when I arrived this year, it was blocked off for a private event. Not only is the event $1000 a ticket, it’s an invite only event. It seems pretty shitty to take away a prime public viewing spot or am I overreacting and just tired of rich people taking over everything?

Splendid or Clever Cycles?

Both Clever and Splendid have the bike I want. Both shops seem great and were helpful with my shopping experience. Cost is the same. Both equally convenient. Does anyone have a compelling reason to pick one shop over the other?

Anyone ride a Tern NBD S5i?

I am pretty close to choosing an ebike. I really like the Tern NBD s5i, but the price is a lot. It's currently on sale and I need to decide this weekend. Does any one here ride one? Do you feel the upgraded features (breaks, belt drive, battery) are worth the extra cost. My next choice is the QH P9, but I don't really NEED a cargo bike (this isn't car replacement). Do you love riding it?

Anyone ride a Tern NBD?

I am considering buying a Tern NBD ebike. It's only on sale until 6/1, so I need to decide quickly if that's the ebike for me. It seems a little under powered for the inclines here. Does any one have any real world experience riding one around Portland?

Any one have a Tern NBD?

Per my other post, I am looking at 3 very different ebikes. One of which is the Tern NBD. I like ride and size of the bike (I am only 5'2"), but I am worried it's under powered. Out of all the bikes I tried, it clearly took more effort to get up hills. Does anyone have some real world feedback riding this bike for a bit?

This is not a car replacement for me and will mostly be used for leisure rides and nearby errands. I would like to go 20 miles without thinking too hard about it. I don't have a lot of hills, but some bridges to ride over and some long inclines, but not huge hills.

It's only on sale until 6/1, so I need to decide very soon if this is the bike for me.

Help me decide which bike is for me

TLDR: I am looking at Tern NBD P8i, Tern QH P9 and Gazelle Medeo. I am really torn. Feedback?

I am looking for an eBike and I think I have narrowed it down to these three. 50F, 5'2" and will be using this for leisure and some chores. I have a car, so not a complete car replacement. I don't have a daily commute. I am currently a leisurely, fair weather bike rider. It's not completely flat where I live with some moderate hills. I would like this bike to last at least 6-7 years. I would like to go at least 20 miles without even thinking about it.

After test riding about a dozen bikes in my price range, I have come to learn I prefer the mid drive motor and Bosch seems to make a solid system. I am looking for a bike around 3k or less. Must have a low step through and preferred to have a removable and chargeable off bike battery.

Any thoughts, advice or feedback on any of the following bikes?

  1. Tern NBD P8i This was the most comfortable to ride and is in my price range only until 6/1 so I have decide if I want this bike or not soon. I like being more upright. However, I rode all 3 bikes up the same hills and it is noticeable how much pedaling is required for going up hill and this bike seems to have the least range on the battery. Also the gear mechanism doesn't seem to be as good as the others as it struggles to change gears when pedaling too fast, but it is internal. Also has a better, upgraded screen. The big plus is because of the folding handlebars, it's very easy to fit into my car. https://www.ternbicycles.com/us/bikes/471/nbd-p8i

  2. Tern QuickHaul P9 Slight motor upgrade from the NBD (270% effort vs 300%). It is noticeable going up hills. I would get a handle bar modification to be able to sit more upright and have the handle bar be more cruiser style. A little longer and not as low step through as the NBD. I am not sure if this will fit in my car. It seems to be the compromise between the NBD and Medeo. https://www.ternbicycles.com/en/bikes/471/quick-haul-p9

  3. Gazelle Medeo This feels exactly like riding my current bike in easy mode. It rides nicely, shifts smoothly, overall a nice bike. I think I prefer the smaller wheeled bikes above as I get older, but I still enjoyed riding this bike. With the bigger wheels, easier to get up hills. https://www.gazellebikes.com/en-us/ebikes/gazelle-medeo-t9-city

I am truly torn between these 3 bikes as they all have their pros and cons. I would love to hear some real world experiences.

eBike opinions?

All 3 models have their pros and cons and was curious for some real world Portland riding experience. I am 5'2" and this would mostly be for leisurely riding and I want to be able to do 20 miles without thinking. I will not be doing any major cargo hauling beyond a bag of groceries.
