I'm looking for a feasible way to share the same VLANs over multiple fortilink interfaces.

Topology Fortigate 80F - Fortigate 80F (HA)

Fortilink interface A;
Fortiswitch 148 (Active).
Fortiswitch 148 (Hot spare).

fortilink Interface B:
Fortiswitch 148 (Active).
Fortiswitch 148 (Hot Spare).

Both Fortilink interfaces (LACP aggregates) must share the same VLANs.

Is there a simple and feasible way to do this without footguns?

Something got fubared with our office printers. The central network team INSISTED they had to use DHCP and DNS instead of just the IP we normally use for all printer stuff.

Now, this actually makes good sense, since they can change the subnet whenever they want without having to modify the driver package.

Unfortunately, something went wrong with the initial DNS configuration, and the DNS entry for Printer 1 ended up pointing to Printer 2, and vice versa.

No big deal, right? Easy fix.

I ask a colleague, as I needed some well-deserved downtime from this crazy place. I tell him to just flip the DNS entries so they point to the correct endpoints on the network.

Now my vacation is coming to an end, and I log into my email to see if there was anything I needed to glance at before returning to work tomorrow.

There's an email from my CoLlEaGuE stating that he found the error on the printers: The physical signs hanging on the printers needed to be switched around.

Technically, it did kind of solve the issue... But damn, I need a much longer vacation now, because this is just moronic. Calling in sick. Money isn't worth this level of asshattery.

So company i consult for sicced HPE servers on us instead of the preferred Dell platform due to some lame procurement agreement with HPE.

Now one of our 5 month old HPE Servers has shit itself and the downtime has cost us more than we saved by buying the fisher-price grade kit instead of the dell unit. (it is the lone backup unit)

Oh well...

(Yes i realize dell could have died toi but fuck HPE and why does Ilo have to be soo fucking slow when iDrac is fine)

Oh and if i forgot mentioning it, fuck HPE /rant
