Tried Amaze, Curvex, Evolve, Liberate & more — finally went with Opus HB

Visited a Featherlite store recently and spent a good amount of time trying different chairs before finally buying one. Thought I’d share my experience in case it helps someone else.

For reference: Height: 183 cm (~6 ft) | Weight: 72 kg

Amaze
The seat itself actually felt pretty comfortable, but I felt the back support was almost non-existent for me. The headrest also felt a bit questionable and didn’t leave a great impression.

Curvex
I had high expectations for this one because I see it recommended quite a lot. But personally, the lumbar support felt like a curved plastic piece rather than actual supportive lumbar support. It felt a bit flimsy and didn’t do much for my back.

My biggest issue though was the headrest. The borders are hard plastic, and the headrest itself wouldn’t stay fixed properly at the level I adjusted it to. That was a dealbreaker for me.

Evolve
Tried this as well, but the seat didn’t feel comfortable to me personally. Also, the store mentioned around a 6-week waiting period in Bangalore since it’s relatively new. Felt pretty similar to some of the Chinese white-label designs like Curvex HB.

Liberate
Backrest felt too soft for my liking. I prefer feeling a bit more support.

Also tried Astor, Mersa, and a few others, but either I didn’t like the back support or the headrest implementation.

Finally settled on Opus HB

I know chairs are super subjective, but this one just felt right immediately.

Things I liked:
• Seat support extended nicely under the thighs
• Headrest felt stable and comfortable
• Headrest is removable if you don’t like using one
• Overall felt much more solid and stable than the others I tried

One extra thing that probably biased me: this was also the chair I used at my first company, and I remember really liking it back then. So maybe there’s a nostalgia factor involved too 😄

Anyway, just sharing one person's experience. Chair comfort is insanely subjective, so definitely try before buying if possible.

Buying frido ergonomic because I don’t like mesh chair

Ordered today for my wife, but then after placing an order i got a call from someone claiming to be a frido executive, he said he has sent me a coupon code, just that I’ll have to cancel the original order and make a new account and re order from that account and then use the coupon code that way i’ll save 3000 more, and the WhatsApp message was also from a private number, just wondering if it’s a trend with frido ?

Featherlite Amaze for 5'4" user- headrest worth it or not?

Hey everyone, need quick advice.

I’m 5'4" and deciding between the Featherlite Amaze mid-back vs high-back (with headrest).

I do recline fairly often, but I’m worried the headrest might sit too high or feel awkward at my height.

For anyone around my height:
- Did the Amaze headrest actually support your neck/head properly?
- Does it push your head forward?
- Would you recommend going without the headrest instead?

5k budget, Chair for max 4-5 hours of sitting daily, recommendations welcome.

Was considering something like this.

Maybe with a good cushion for more lumbar support.

Metal legs are a must.

Open to other suggestions upto 6k if it is stronger and better overall.

Recommendations for a Height Adjustable standing desk under 14k

Hello,

I am looking to gather insights around the following:

  1. Is Height adjustable standing desk a fad or there are actual benefits?

  2. Should I prefer a manual one or an electric one?

Context: I work for 10 to 12 hours a day. I look to add this as I believe this could help with afternoon sluggishness.

Genuine mattress recommendations for a 28M bachelor

28M bachelor here. Lately I’ve been waking up with noticeable lower/mid back stiffness in the mornings, especially after 6–7 hours of sleep. I spend most of the day sitting because of work, so I’m guessing my mattress might be part of the problem.

Single mattress preferably.

Looking for mattress recommendations in India that are actually good for:

- morning back stiffness

- spinal support

- medium-firm feel (not rock hard)

- long-term durability without sagging

- comfortable for both back and side sleeping

Budget is flexible if it’s genuinely worth it.

Currently considering orthopedic / latex / hybrid options from brands like Wakefit, Duroflex, Sunday, SleepyCat, etc., but online reviews are all over the place.

Would love recommendations from people who actually noticed improvement in back stiffness after changing mattresses. Also open to pillow suggestions if that made a difference for you.

Featherlite such worst experience

I have been a featherlite customer for long ago.

I say Don't ever buy chair from featherlite. I say don't

Product not delivered by them, called featherlite their customer support isn't available, then called their courier partner but they refused to deliver it and marked as customer not available. So i picked up the package on my own expenses from the warehouse.

When i reported it to their customer service, the customer service guy said "Who said to pickup the order with your own money" and talked in bad manner. I replied him " it's customer's money and customer has prepaid for the order, So customer has to be concerned about the order"

Package is Broken and damaged while checking at courier warehouse.

After assembling the product i found that the headrest is damaged during shipment. Also the washers of the handrest is missing too.

After talking multiple times, Customer service not reachable/Getting blacklisted for customers who brought their chair. It's reachable in new number.

No proper response from the mail.

They only care about corporate orders, Even tried messaging to u/achel1 "achel1" a director of featherlite but no response.

We are paying these much for money just for a chair for having premium experience, not treated like a garbage.

Remember for the Featherlite you are just one chair out of thousands. They only give priority to corporate orders.

Speaking from my experience.

Also By the way, their chairs are overpriced. You can just visit the local furniture store and select one with better features for the same price, even they providing warranty and shipping the product in good manner.

Suggest a good standing desk under 20k

So, I have been looking for a sturdy and good-quality height-adjustable desk, and there are so many options that I am confused. I found Intellidesk Eco Dual to be exactly what I need. I mainly love the table top color and texture. They are also claiming that the wood is very high quality and 25mm thick. It also comes with a dual motor and has an under-desk cabinet as a paid accessory.

However, whenever I am going to make the purchase, I see so many known brands like Sleep Company, Jin Office, GreenSoul, and ErgoYou throwing ads at me, and their entry-level desks are cheaper with little compromises here and there.

Since I have never used a branded desk ever, please help me decide the one. I want a smaller width model (1200x60 works best). The major paint point is the table top material, texture, or thickness. Are there any differences or are they all just the same thing marketed differently? Sturdiness is also a factor because reviews of entry-level desks claim them to be wobbly at height. Is Intellidesk good or overpriced?

L4-L5 Disc Protrusion + L5-S1 Disc Extrusion Recovery Stories? Need Advice on Conservative Recovery

Hi everyone,

I’m 35 years old and working in IT/software, so I sit for long hours daily. For the past 8 months I’ve been suffering from severe lower back pain and stiffness. Recently I got an MRI done and the impression says:

  • L4-L5 left foraminal annular tear with bilateral foraminal disc protrusion causing foraminal narrowing and indenting exiting nerve roots.
  • L5-S1 right subarticular disc extrusion with annular tear causing foraminal narrowing and indenting right traversing nerve roots.

Symptoms:

  • Severe lower back pain and stiffness
  • Pain increases with prolonged sitting
  • Morning stiffness
  • Tightness in lower back/buttock area
  • Walking actually gives me some relief
  • No major numbness or leg weakness currently

I consulted a neurosurgeon. Currently prescribed:

  • Gabapin NT 300 at night for 1 month
  • Etoshine MR for 3 days

Doctor also advised no physiotherapy for now.

I’m trying to understand recovery better from people who had similar MRI findings and improved without surgery.

I wanted to ask:

  1. Did anyone recover from similar disc protrusion/extrusion and annular tear?
  2. How long did recovery realistically take?
  3. What helped the most:
    • walking?
    • posture correction?
    • McKenzie exercises?
    • core strengthening?
    • weight loss?
  4. What activities made symptoms worse for you?
  5. How did you manage long office sitting?
  6. Did anyone avoid surgery successfully?
  7. How long did it take before sitting became comfortable again?

I’d really appreciate hearing real recovery experiences because chronic back pain for 8 months has been mentally exhausting.

Thanks in advance.
