Bought a brand-new Featherlite Helix for ₹12k, no bill/warranty — good deal?
Hey folks, long chair hunt saga.
At first I was looking at used Herman Miller and Steelcase chairs since my office uses a Steelcase and I was already familiar with that kind of feel. I ended up buying a used Steelcase Think V2, but after using it for a bit I realized I really want a headrest at home because I sometimes use the chair to relax too. The other problem was the no-warranty situation — if anything went wrong, repairs would probably cost way too much compared to what I paid. So I sold it.
After that I started looking for a good used Featherlite Amaze deal, but most sellers were asking almost new price, with like ₹1k–₹1.5k off at best, so it didn’t really make sense once you factor in pickup/transport. Around the same time I checked out the Featherlite Helix in store. I liked it a lot — fixed headrest, but the position felt right for me, good cushion, good posture support, overall just a really comfortable chair. I skipped it then because the price felt too high.
Then I stretched my budget and bought a Sleep Company Flex for ₹17k. Unfortunately the auto-lumbar / back mechanism started acting up pretty quickly, making noise and vibration, and I returned it within the return window. Refund is still pending.
After that I found a deal on a Featherlite Helix for ₹12k. At first I almost skipped it, but then I went to check it out and it turned out to be a brand-new sealed box, manufactured in April 2026 and imported in May 2026. It felt like too good of a deal to pass up, so I bought it.
Now I’m using it and it feels great, but my main concern is still the same — no warranty, no bill, and if anything does fail later, I don’t want to end up in a situation where repairs are super expensive or basically not worth it.
So yeah, I'm curious what people think:
Was ₹12k a solid buy for a sealed Helix?
Any known weak points on this chair I should watch for?
Is there anything I should be extra careful about since there’s no warranty?
Would love to hear from anyone who’s used the Helix long term.
