PFL letter: Need to be in Cadana while BOWP is being processed?

Hello everyone,

My PGWP expired on May 23, and I applied for my BOWP on May 21.

Due to a family matter, I had to leave Canada last week. Today, I received this **PFL** letter.

\*“Client Information: as our system is showing a recent exit on 2026/08/14 04:55:00 PM from Toronto Lester B. Pearson Intl Airport. Your recent work permit application cannot be processed until you confirm either;\*

\*if you are indeed outside Canada when would be your return date\*

\*if you are still inside Canada kindly provide evidence to prove such as recent entry stamps or plane tickets.\*

\*This must be received at this office by: August 26th 2026.\*

\*Please only submit the requested information and documents via one of the following method”\*

My question is: I understand that I can leave Canada while my BOWP is being processed, but why is IRCC requiring this information?

My family situation is health-related, so I do not know exactly when I will be able to return to Canada. It may be a few months.

What should I do?

Secondary review IRCC

Me and my partner applied for common law sponsorship in February 2024. We were asked for interview in March 2026 which we went to. During the interview I was made aware of the fact that I failed to declare my marital status change to common law while my PR application was still active. She told us this make me (sponsor) ineligible to sponsor my common law/spouse. She recited IRCC law about misrepresentation and mentioned if I was a PR my PR could have been revoked too but I am a citizen now so there’s nothing they can do about it.

I won’t go much in details but After explaining the situation we were informed by the agent that she was convinced our relationship was genuine and she believed our explanation was genuine as to why I didn’t declare my common law partner. Case processing agent mentioned she will approve our application.

Our application was approved by the same day. Now it’s been 5 months we are waiting for his landing process to begin. So we contacted MP office and were informed a senior office is doing “Secondary Review”. Does anyone know what that is and how does it work? I have never heard of this before.

Also I would like to mention we got married in March 2025 not sure if that changes anything.

Application Refused due to Officer Error - Reconsideration Experience

Hey y’all,

A bit of a background. I came to Canada right after highschool and completed my undergrad and started working full time in Nov 2023. Have been working for the same employer since but I did change positions last year (NOC remained the same as 13100). I got an ITA in Jan 2026 and applied in March 2026 with all the required documents.

I got a refusal on Friday stating that for my first position at my company, I did not provide my job duties and therefore the officer couldn’t verify that NOC 13100 was the right NOC claimed.

Fortunately, I kept a record of everything and I can see that I submitted that document and also called IRCC twice to confirm and they said they do see the document was uploaded and this was most likely a miss on the officer’s part. I have raised an officially reconsideration request through a webform with all the evidence and the agent on the phone was also kind enough to raise one for me from her side. I am also pursuing a JR!

I am just heartbroken that this happened because I have worked almost a decade to get this. My WP expires in 2 months and my current score is 511 (potential to increase to 514 if I redo IELTS). However, with the current status of immigration, not sure if i’ll get another ITA before next year!

Has anyone here been through something similar recently? How was your reconsideration process? Was it approved? How much time did it take? Any help is appreciated!

Is my tracker showing inaccurate status? GCKey stuck since May + Biometrics not updated on tracker

Hi,

I started my outland spousal PR process in March 2026. My biometrics and medical were done in May. I have been expecting a passport collection request. My pre-arrival services have also begun in the month of May itself.

I still haven't received my passport collection request (It has been over 3 months since then). Normally I wouldn't worry, but I realised that my application status on GCKey is inaccurate as it shows "We do not need your fingerprints" while they have already been taken. So is it possible that I do not have an accurate status update? And how do I fix it? Has anyone experienced something similar or you ended up finding out that your application had progressed but you weren't notified so you kept waiting? Whom do I talk to about this, to verify?

I got married in January and ever since then I've been in long-distance. It sucks big time and as a spouse my life is on hold. Not a fan of this feeling. 😢 Any and all help is useful 🙏 Just FYI I am in India and my partner is in BC.

Working 2 full-time remote software engineering roles (one supporting OINP) – retail insurance vs wholesale reinsurance. Any thoughts/advice?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently in a situation where I’m considering working two full-time remote software engineering roles at the same time.
• One role is in primary/retail insurance and is the one supporting my OINP process (this is the “main” one for immigration purposes).
• The other is in wholesale reinsurance.
Both positions are fully remote and software engineering roles.
I’m looking for any advice, experiences, or thoughts on:
• Practical feasibility of holding two full-time SE roles long-term
• Any specific risks or considerations when one of the jobs is tied to an OINP application
• Anything else I should be thinking about (tax, burnout, disclosure, performance expectations, etc.)

Any insights from people who’ve done something similar (especially in insurance/reinsurance or with Canadian immigration processes) would be really appreciated.

Thanks!

PGWP refused need help

I did 2 year certificate course in Business Administration at Portage College. Applied for PGWP in March this year. Today I received an email that says it is refused. I’m devastated and anxious. IRCC is saying that my course is not credited. But when I registered at portage college at 2024 my study consultant and college said it is eligible for the PGWP. How can they change the rules suddenly and say I’m not eligible?

I sent in a webform for appeal. Does anyone know how long will the appeal take?

Many of my friends are in same situation and were all talking to MPs. Most of us made huge financial sacrifice to come to Canada. Personally my family sold our family land and took loan for my education in Canada. The original plan was to study, get PGWP and get points for PR. Does anyone know good immigration consultant who can help?

PR application cancelled due to incomplete schedule A

Hello!

I applied for PR, got my AOR which I used to apply for BWOP. Anyways, I got an email last week asking me to upload my TCF pdf results and schedule A signed.

I filled out the schedule A, made sure no gaps whatsoever are in it. I even create a separate document where I completed my work history since the space in their original document was insufficient.

To my surprise, this morning I get an email saying my PR application was cancelled due to an incomplete schedule A.

The only issue I can think of here is when I filled out the document it wouldn’t let me sign it, nor verify it to get the QR codes at the end. I made some research, and found out that when this « glitch » happens some people just print it, scan it and send it. So I did the same, and I dont think that was right to do.

Im just so LOST. Not feeling like restarting the whole process from scratch especially that I put so much effort and time into it. And the worst part is not knowing if i will be lucky with a low draw anytime soon.

I got letter stating that I’m allowed to work for a year while they process my BWOP. So that will get rejected soon as well as soon as they find out that my PR application got canceled.

Any advice please?? Has anybody been through same or similar situation.

Thanks everyone!

Payroll Hours Showing Incorrectly on Pay Stub — Immigration Concern
I’m working as a manager at a gas station in Canada. My employment/offer letter states that I work 32 hours per week (64 hours bi-weekly) and I receive $1,700 bi-weekly, which works out to about $26.56/hour based on the stated hours. However, on my pay stub, the payroll system shows 86.6 units/hours while still showing the $1,700 payment. I’m concerned that if I use these documents for immigration/Express Entry, an officer might interpret the 86.6 figure as the actual hours I worked. My employment agreement and scheduled hours are 32 hours per week. Has anyone experienced a similar payroll issue or “phantom hours” on their pay stubs? How did you explain the discrepancy to IRCC, and what documents did you provide to prove your actual weekly hours?

[HELP] Employment Proof without Job Duties

I am applying for the Express Entry and want to include my overseas work experience.

But the HR refuses to give the job duties in my employment letter because of company policies.

I have done a little research online, saying I can ask a NOTARISED reference from my last supervisor and coworker as the proof of the job duties.

But I am a bit worried about the notarisation as all my last coworkers are living overseas and the procedure can become complicated…? I don’t know if they are willing to go that far for me.

Is there anyone experience the same situation as mine? Is the notarisation really necessary and how did you overcome this at the end?

Thank so much the helps from everyone.

Replacement of an immigration document.

Hi everyone, I applied for a replacement for my work permit that got lost when IRCC mailed it to me and I applied for the replacement 6 weeks ago. I got not corresponding email to acknowledge that they received my application. However the processing time for the document says 7 weeks. Does anyone know whether when you apply by mail you receive the acknowledgment email?

I’ve called IRCC multiple times and they’ve told me to wait.

IRCC Study Permit Refusal Reconsideration Through Webform — Successful Cases

Have there been cases where an applicant, after receiving an IRCC study permit refusal, submitted a webform requesting reconsideration because the refusal letter stated that certain evidence was missing or inadequate, even though the application had actually included proper supporting documents and evidence? If so, were any such reconsideration requests successful, resulting in the refusal being overturned and the study permit being approved?

Has anyone here been in this situation whereby they receive their P1 email few days before an important travelling back home. I will be going back home for 10 days.

If i reply P1 that I am travelling outside the country and add my return date, is that OK?

Also will it delay my ecopr?

If you have been in this situation how do you go about it?

Foreign Work Experience Points

Hello everyone

When I created my Express Entry profile, I listed my foreign work experience from May 2021 to Oct 2024 (official exit from the company), which put my total work experience over 3 years, and I received an ITA under CEC. However, I began my studies in Canada in the second week of May 2024. Do I change the end of my employment when submitting my application to April 2024 (the last complete month) or 1st week of May (the actual end of my working period).
I did not work for the organisation during the duration of my studies before my official exit in Oct 2024.
