Hey everyone, its been a pleasure seeing all of the different builds and discussions around the M1A. What an amazing firearm, and I have a full Navy Seal Grey Sage EBR that I have mostly finished building and am about to start shooting. Unfortunately my club only has 300 yard max rifle range, but banging steel targets is fun no matter what.
My question is how you all transport these big rifles. I put mine in a nice fitted hard case, but what a pain in the butt that is to move around. I want to protect it, but would be nice to have a lighter and more manageable way to do that.
Got a Vortex Strikefire for my M1A. I have the Springfield scope mount so there’s a gap in the middle of the rail. Can’t decide if I want it in front or behind the action. Behind gives me more of a view through the sight, while forward gives me more peripherals. What do you guys think?
Welp, shes about done! Just gotta get proper rings, the bipod, and strip the scope
I also broke the front sight blade so i gotta replace that, too.
I saw that a few people bought a basset mount and ran it over the sage it was issued with, and i had it on hand, so i notched it and used it. No idea if that actually true or not because i certainly couldn't find any pictures of that
Anyone know what the rings are i have on it currently? They're very, very heavy steel rings with what looks like some kind of range finder mount thing on the top front. No markings on top or engraved anywhere
Ignore the mess lol this thing was a pain to get built, but I even got the sadlak scope mount to be able to see the iron sights under the scope!
Now I wait for the bula paratrooper to come in next week so I can put it all together!
PMC Bronze is consistently available at a good price. What kind of results are you guys getting with it? X-tac is occasionally priced well too.

Hello Everyone ,In 04 the ATF declared shoestrings as machine guns, they reclassified them is 07 as machine gun parts. Since then the ATF has obviously come out and clarified on FRTs stating they are legal. The string contraption works the exact same way as when the bolt reciprocates it resets the trigger forward allowing for accelerated semi auto fire. What would your interpretation be on the bulletin as it leaves a major Grey area?
Recently got my Springfield M1a back from Tony Ben!
these are the upgrades he did
-Installed heavy barrel
-Epoxy bedded the action to the stock
-Cleared wood inside the forearm for heavy barrel clearance
-Glued in (epoxied) the stock ferrule
-Opened up the stock ferrule for gas cylinder clearance
-Unitized the gas cylinder via plug welding and bent the hand guard tabs up
-Shimmed for proper gas lock timing
-Cleared the hand guard so that it does not make contact with the wood stock
-Polished all the trigger surfaces that have friction
-Removed second stage creep from the trigger (breaks clean now)
-Trigger pull se to 5 pounds (Will lighten to 4.5 pounds over time as the hammer spring wears)
-Properly installed the Fulton mount and torqued to spec
-Calibrated iron sights at 100 yards
Can’t wait to shoot this thing. has anyone else had these upgrades done? how much did it improve the accuracy of your rifle? The rifle is quite heavy now
I know the mod 0/1s were suppressed but were the RIs ever suppressed? If so did they use a windtalker or AEM30 or sandmanS? Ive seen conflicting comments on this but i cant find a pic of a suppressed one anywhere. Thanks!
Wanted something a little lighter with a pistol grip, so I stuck this Mossberg butt/ grip setup on a beat up GI synthetic from Fred's. I put the stock on a bit of a negative angle, to get the butt up and keep recoil flatter. Without the scope and mount, comes in just under 8 lbs. Put my Burris 3-12 on with a badace mount to test accuracy, seems to be pretty good. Going to try a lighter MPVO in the future. Very comfortable to shoot and spot hits with.
To my eye, this looks like a crack in the reciever. Not sure how long its been there, and the rifle has less than 300 rounds through it. What do you think?
Yes, it was an option that never made it to the battle field.
Is anyone aware of a manufacturer making a suppressor adapter with a bayonet lug?
