HELP: How do I save her?

I recently repotted my cactus, Fluffy, and now she’s partly rotten. She doesn’t smell bad though, so maybe not completely rotten. Fluffy is 5 years old. She started growing another limb maybe last year. The limb is barely hanging on and when I put pressure, the gap on the body opens. The baby pic is from June 2021.

Does Medusa need to be up-potted?

This was a wishlist plant I got in April 2025 (picked her out as 40th bday present) and I LOVE HER!!! She’s one of my favs. She’s still in her original pot with original soil and she’s currently exploding with growth! 💃💃💃

I have a high-quality gritty cactus mix ready for her, but I’m not sure how to tell if she’s ready to be up-potted. She is my first cactus of this kind and I’m not 100% sure how to interpret her. Seems to me like she’s looking a bit crowded? 🤷🏻‍♀️

What would you do? Up-pot? Repot with the gritty mix? Leave her alone until she says she wants a bigger pot? If so, what should I watch for?

Thanks y’all!!!

Pic one: view facing her
Pic two: looking down at her
Pic three: don’t go into the light!!💡 👀 😂

Is this Edema or rot?

Got this Rauhocereus cutting this past Saturday and potted it same day in mineral rich gritty soil mix. Haven’t watered of course and kept on deck patio under shade but bright indirect light with good airflow.

I don’t know what to do! This is my best friend, please help me with my cactus

This is my first cactus 🌵 I recently “repotted” it from the cracked and broken plastic to the ceramic container that it came with when I purchased it. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, it was really healthy before, it bloomed two flowers this spring. I live in Las Vegas and keep it outside because I think these cacti like the sun, however; it may have gotten sunburned? I was told to water it once a week… but that may be too much? I’m confused and I need to save my friend. I talk to it regularly and check on it every day, how do I get it back to its healthy stature? Any advice and suggestions are welcome, as long as they are good recommendations.

Thankyou.

Scale?

Does this look like scale to anyone else? Sorry about the first photo, it’s hard to get a picture of that recessed part.

My first cacti!

Hello Reddit, I just repotted my domino cactus that I got a week ago. I watered him about 8 days ago and just now managed to repot him.

I was wondering how healthy he looks, looks pretty good to me, but I don’t have much experience yet.

I definitely want to get more Echinopsis, and will definitely be getting some San Pedro cacti in the future!

any tips? his name is Nicky!

Pruning advice

I want to have this Eve’s Needle (Austrocylindropuntia subulata) transplanted to a bigger pot. Before it gets moved, I think it needs some pruning. Can you good folks give me advice on how to prune the branches on the lower right?

Scott the cactus (not a cactus) help?

I've had this cactus for years, but on Friday just gone I accidently caught it putting on a cardigan and it fell to the floor. It lives on a plant stand.

The cactus is called Scott the prick, after a horrible ex-boss but that's another story.

After it fell, I saw white liquid dots in quite a few places from punctures and this is how I learnt that he's not an actual cactus but a Euphorbia!!

Since the fall, he's been leaning more and more, I keep moving it away from the wall to see how much in a day it leans more.

My questions are....can it be saved from toppling over again...and is it worth it?! I have an indoor cat and with the white liquid being toxic to her, I'd hate for anything to happen if it falls again as it's now close to the point of being unsteady.

Photos of the fall, the liquid and the kitty cat. Neko the cat comes before the cactus of course, so any more chance of it falling again it will be going!

I'm in the UK, the plant lives indoors. I don't have a lot of space to move it somewhere else in the house.

Weird white spots on pots of my cacti and succulents. Mold?

Hello everybody!

So I own a few cacti and succulents. Most of them are not affected and agree doing fine.

However, I noticed white spots appearing on the pots of don't of my plants, especially the smaller ones.

Some of my larger plants also have white spots on their pots, those are clearly limescale however, since the water where I live is very hard.

I attached some photos of my smaller plants, where the white spots look strange. I think they almost look like mold?

I water my succulents and cacti roughly 1x/week in summer. They are all in direct sunlight, either in South facing windows or on my with facing balcony. In wintertime I water less. The pictures are taken right after today's watering.

I've repotted all but one plant into a cactus substrate.

My question to you: what are these white spots? Are they mold? And what can I do about them?

Thank you in advance!

Is it save to repot in a bigger pot?

I have these two Cactuses for 2 years now and have thought about putting them together in a new bigger pot.

The issue is i don't know if its a good idea and if the could live together in the same soil. I still have to do some research but i decided to look here if i can get any smarter.

And any suggestions where i could get more information about cactuses and them repotting and what soil is the best? x

Do you think my opuntia is rotting?

Hi cactus friends, I think my opuntia is rotting but I'd like a second opinion on it. It's quite squishy, and it has fallen over at least twice the past few days.

(Pictured is the squishy parts)

I don't fully understand why its rotting because i rarely water, but it is humid here during summer. Could that be the reason?

Thanks for your help :)

Cactus adoption… healthy?

Hey yall!!

So today I found this abandoned snowy white prickly pear cactus on the curb in NYC, and I was wondering if you guys had any advice for care? Its soil is bone dry and it’s a bit droopy in some places. It has a few flaws like holes and scratches, but overall is big and bushy and seems healthy. Other than that, just let me know what you guys think!
