Just made level Purple🥳

Just made level Purple🥳

Picked up running more consistently in 2022 and so glad my coworker told me about this app. 1 marathon, 6 halfs, and several other races later…so grateful for the confidence these workouts give me and reminder of how far I’ve come! Running is truly the gift that keeps giving.

Half Marathon Training Plan

I recent noticed that there are currently two 14-wee Half Marathon training plans on the app — the regular one and one that says “More Speed.” Other than the name, it’s unclear what the difference is between these two plans based on their description.

Anyone know what’s unique about the “More Speed” plan?

🚨 Zone 2 Running Question 🚨

After recovering from a serious lower body injury with multiple broken bones in 2012, I started jogging in 2019. It was primarily for recovery of my mobility. I’m in my mid-40s now. Within the last year I started running periodic 5Ks just to push my limits and try to see if I could run again. Long intro. Sorry!

I run a 5K in around 35 mins currently, and my average heart rate throughout is approximately 165 bpm. My normal resting heart rate is 56 bpm.

When performing recovery jogging, I try to keep my heart rate in zone 2 (I used approx 140 bpm as my target heart rate), but it feels like I always exceed zone 2 even when I slow WAY down, and I feel like I am running an easily conversational pace.

What should I be doing to build cardio endurance?

Should I transition from jogging to walking until my heart rate reduces then start jogging again?

Should I keep jogging at the low-intensity, easily conversational pace?

I understand that I should “just jog more.” Still, I would like to make improvements, and I would like to know if anyone has a more ideal approach to pushing through. Thank you for any knowledge and/or feedback!

10k and 21k races

Hi everyone! Has anyone done the guided races 10k or half marathon? How are those and is there a pace for it?

Finally hit my goal of a sub 40 minute 8k!

This was my first major running goal. I originally planned to do this in a race in November, but I'll take meeting the goal a few months early. I'm excited to see what I can do when I get to race day now.

first run

I picked a grassy/dirt trail wrapping around some farmland and went crazy, i had to pause the timer after 15 minutes and walk for a minute or so before finishing, but I feel really proud of this.

Didn’t feel like running, but put in a 5k just to unlock today’s award 😍

Now that I’m back I feel great and glad I went out

Somehow got to 1776 all time runs for America 250

This was just random luck I didn’t try to do this.

My first BONK!! SO that's the wall

Last 3 weeks have been 20 miles/week so on top of going 5 whole extra miles over my weekly average on my 10 miles today I also stupidly did my long run after INTERVALS yesterday, not recovery or rest.

On top of the heat wave making it 90F and me forgetting my hydration belt in my fiance's car so I didn't have water mid run.

I did have carbs, sour patch kids, about 100g carbs were brought as last week's 10 miles was 1:40 with no bonk but I had water and it was cooler temps last week.

Very tough week on myself, glad next week is a deload and I know what not to do next time for sure.

Legs gave out and I had to walk the last mile.

First 100 Mile

Blackbeards revenge really piqued my interest. I have never run 100 miles but have done the MCM Ultra and a couple of races that were several days (running/biking/ kayaking). Is it too ambitious to undertake 100mile ultra next March? If not who has any training/ gear recommendations for me!?

Incorrect readings?

Multiple times these past two months I’ve gotten odd paces from NRC. I’ve been running consistently since last year Feb and I’ve gotten used to my normal pace range. When I’m good it’s around mid 7min/mi and when I’m going slower it’s in the mid 8min/mi. In this run from today I never slowed down. I was keeping a consistent pace but the chart says otherwise….

I’ve been running fine lately, what I feel are in the low 8 mins to high 7 mins/mile but the app gives me paces like this after my run is over. I know 100% that it is wrong so what is going on?

Always running with my 15 pro in my Nike running shorts/briefs with that thigh pocket. Weather has been kind of iffy but does it really throw off readings that much??
