About the automated removals on the subreddit
Hey guys, Fate here!
Lately, I have been getting a lot of mod mail about posts that have been automatically removed, and I have spent some time looking into this.
Over the past half year, roughly 95% of all removals of posts and comments have been automated from reddit's side, and not removed by any of the mods.
They are all tagged as "removed", but do not have any username attached to them, and for some reason, a lot of posts are flagged for triggering the sexual content filter of all things.
If you feel like a post has been taken down automatically, do send us a mod mail and we'll take a look at it on a case-by-case basis and manually approve what has been filtered.
Is there a reputable place to get a replacement battery for a NW-ZX100?
I've been looking online and I've seen some replacement batteries on AliExpress and Amazon, but I've been burned by buying batteries from stores like that before, so I was wondering if any of you guys know a reputable place to get one.
I'm in Europe, so Amazon is a flip-flop on whether it's worth it with imports.
I think it's really funny that they're asking for fan art when they couldn't even be bothered to pay an artist $60 to make a simple illustration for them. Look at how clearly AI this one is between the cat and the buckles on Daylon's apron.
Mi Band 10 - Comfortable replacement straps
So, my strap on my Band 10 broke not too long ago, and I've been shopping some AliExpress straps to replace it.
The problem is, that pretty much all of the replacement straps I've bought have been extremely stiff and uncomfortable on the wrist in a way that the factory original has never bothered me. I'm always aware that I'm wearing the watch with these replacement straps.
The only ones with a comfortable silicone material I've tried so far is this type, but I'm not a fan of the way you tug in the loose end of the strap under itself.
Do you guys have recommendations for a soft silicone strap for it?
Crowdsourcing Request: Time to update the Software list, maybe even add a basic tutorial wiki.
Hello /r/fractals!
Your lead mod Fate here!
So, I've been thinking about expanding the list of fractal software in the side bar of the subreddit for a while now, so I wanted to ask you guys about what fractal software you guys use and recommend in 2026!
I was thinking about splitting it up in categories, first on what sort of fractal it makes (Flames, IFS, Escape Time, Raytracing/Raymarching, curves, chaos attractors, etc.), then what OS it runs on (Windows, Mac, Android, Linux, Browser, etc.).
If any of you have either some really good home-made software, or know a really good renderer that isn't already on the list, please comment below and I'll take a look through it.
I will say, at the bare minimum, the code needs to be signed, as I don't want people to run potentially unsafe, unsigned code on their devices without a really good excuse, and it would also be nice if the software has its own landing page and isn't just a github link with zero screenshots or documentation, just to make presentation easier for people that aren't as hardcore into tech as some of us are.
I've also considered a basic "how to fractal 101" section that I want to make into a subreddit wiki, but I'm unsure how much work that would take, so I'm also considering crowdsourcing that part, as I'm basically a solo mod as is.
So, if any of you have anything juicy, please drop the link and a brief description in the comments below!
Keep in mind that there is a minimum complexity requirement, so something as basic as a Mandelbrot zoomer probably won't make the list, as it's just too basic and restrictive. At the bare minimum, I'd like the software to be able to tackle more than one formula type.
Looking for an upgrade to my FiiO FD3 - Single-Driver IEM preferred.
So, this is something I've debated with myself for a long while, because overall, I'm very satisfied with my FD3s, but in the end, I'm craving just a little bit more detail and resolution.
Personally, I prefer a warm-leaning W-tuning with a punchy, but not quite basshead-level bass. Also, I have very bad experiences with composite driver headphones, as a lot of the ones I've tried sound like a sliver of the sound is either duplicated, or is playing from another room. I don't know if it's just my ears that are weird, or if I just got to try duds. I only had short listening sessions with them, so I can't really remember which ones I got to try.
I've tried to find an upgrade for them for a good while, but everything I've bought has either been returned or pawned off onto someone else I know because I ended up going back to my good ol' comfort set.
I've tried to EQ them, change the nozzle to the treble one, and play with the roll-off settings in my DAP, but no matter what I do with them, I'm just missing that tiiiiiiny little bit of detail, resolution and sparkle. I've also done my fair bit of tip rolling, and while that has helped quite a bit, nothing has scratched the itch I've been feeling.
Budget-wise, I'm looking for something below $310. I've looked longingly at the new Snowsky Oak Nano, but it is just too expensive for what it is. Maybe I'll get it on sale, but $570 with import duty and shipping is a LOT for a new launch under a budget brand, and I will not do a blind purchase at that price.
So far, I've bought these as replacements, or had before them, but they've failed in some key area:
NiceHCK F1 Pro:
I loved the detail and resolution, but the mids were just completely gutted, making half of the songs in my library sound flaccid and hollow. Also really sibilant with s- and tsss-noises, enough to drive you insane when there's a lot of cymbals playing.
FiiO FT3:
Basically identical to the NiceHCK F1 Pro's with pros and cons. Mids were completely gutted, turning male vocals flaccid and dull.
VE Azure:
Sounded pretty close to my FD3s, but I couldn't stand the driver flex (it sounds like someone's crumpling a bag of chips directly onto your ear drum whenever you put them in) and the horrible nozzle design means that the tips you use either fall off in your pocket or stay inside your ear when you pull the IEM out. My mom loves, them, though, so I let her keep them.
FiiO FD15:
Was supposed to be a straight upgrade to the FD3s, but I'll be honest, the sound lacked a lot of body, and the set was obnoxiously loud and screechy for me. They started hurting my ears at 20% volume, but only "woke up" and sounded good way past my pain threshold. My sister loved them, though, so she got them.
Shuoer Tape Pro:
Worst headphones I've ever listened to. Literally not a single redeeming quality. I kept them just so I could experience how bad they are. They sound exactly like day two of a horrible head cold.
KZ AS16 Pro:
Runner-up for some of the worst headphones I've ever tried. Basically sounded like they'd been through the washing machine before they got shipped to me. This thing cemented my hatred towards BA drivers
Dawnwood GT09:
Mids and nothing else. Has one of the coolest looking shells I've ever seen, but it's just all muddy mids.
